Brunson USG Rate was drastically lower and he was making everyone around him better but because of the injuries he was asked to do more to keep there season alive and he did. The bench is tough & will out work most other benches. They are tough, can rebound, block, & get deflections. Those 50/50 balls are coming our way more often than not. Hart can play SG or SF with length & has shown the ability to score 15-20 before & Donte showed up with 15 last year & showed up in the playoffs. Someone is going to have to eat buckets but the firepower is there. Combined with the 90s Bull's level defense they don't even need it which is what makes this team so scary. CONS: The fact that Randle is the 2nd option & has been inconsistent at times, especially in the playoffs & often has poor body language & attitude can rub off on others. He isn't the most efficient scorer & this team may be better with him being the #3 option, but will he accept that? A trade may be needed here for a better fit. The squad is young & in their prime but Coach Thibs is going to have to trust the bench & give them minutes. The bench got plenty of experience down the stretch & in the playoffs this year. There is no excuse for him to not lean heavily on them during the regular season so they are ready for a deep postseason run. If he fails to adapt & the Knicks are gassed heading into crunch time it may not matter now much youth or talent they have on their side. The team will have to avoid being snake bit again, so hopefully players will remain injury free & not have any hangovers from last year. An overpayment of assets has left them little room to maneuver the way they did this year. Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson statistically are just barely better than Brown and Tatum in everything but “Boston has the bigger stars”. The only thing is that if you look at it as a 1a/1b situation. Tatum (1a) out rebounds Brown (1a). And Brown (1b) has a better FG% (by only 2%) than Randle. But Randle averaged 1 more point than Brown and out performed him in every way offensively

What's this nonsense of underselling Brunson and Randle? They are All-NBA players. In the case of Randle, multiple times and was on the verge of another All-NBA selection before his injury. OG & Mikal were All-Defensive players. Anyone who saw the Knicks (especially Brunson during the playoffs) is lying to themselves if they think Brunson and Randle aren't close enough to Tatum and Brown as a duo, especially with the defensive help you get from OG and Mikal, that they can't beat them with all the rest of the pieces on the NY team. As a Celtics fan, I respect the Knicks' moves. They brought in players that give them as good a chance as anyone against Boston (Bridges and Anuoby are good defenders to put on Tatum and Brown). They also are trying to work their contracts for after Boston's salary sheet becomes unpayable. It's really the best of both worlds. On the one hand, they can compete with Boston now, but they are also bringing in guys that they hope will be together after Boston has to break up.

As a Celtics fan, I respect the Knicks' moves. They brought in players that give them as good a chance as anyone against Boston (Bridges and Anuoby are good defenders to put on Tatum and Brown). They also are trying to work their contracts for after Boston's salary sheet becomes unpayable. It's really the best of both worlds. On the one hand, they can compete with Boston now, but they are also bringing in guys that they hope will be together after Boston has to break up.
