I love these selections Matt!! I wish I could get my hands on more Blue Spot!! Lol!! I'd happily drink any of these delicious beauties!! Fabulous video!! Cheers!! 🙂
Thanks for some non-standard selections. Lots of new channels in my areas of interest (guitar, whiskey and watches) that are doing the same choices as everyone else...
Pretty sure the overwhelming majority of their releases are from Cooley, but they might be introducing some other distilleries now as the newer operations have older and older stock
Thats an impressive little lineup. I've only just purchased a powers John's lane for the first time along with a restock of Redbreast 12 and a Green Spot 😊 I will of course hide them behind the my 3 constants, black barrel, Created and caskmate Stout. Ive never had blue spot, but it will be done.....
Haha! Always a good idea to have those 'shield' bottles for when you're just reaching for a dram. It'll be interesting to try the PJL, GS & RB12 against each other, as they're all pot still, from the same stills, but remarkably different! Hopefully you get the Blue Spot at some point!
Hey great list. Which Powers is that, I didn't hear it right and can't read the label? Because it sounds amazing. Now that Celtic Whiskey shop was amazing. I did stop by it when visiting. wish I would have known about this pick from them, I definitely would have grabbed it. I did grab some other amazing Irish Whiskey from them and also a store pick. One great thing about them is that they do ship to US. So it made my life so much easier to ship. Just heads up cheapest to in packages of 6. It comes out less per bottle. But if you go over it starts again per bottle till you hit 6 again. wish I would have known that, so thought I would share. cheers.
It's the Powers John's Lane. It has a new bottle design now though, less tall and with a grey label. And good pointers on the shipping from Celtic Whiskey!
@@TheWhiskeyNerd nice selection, a mixture of whiskeys that can be bought without breaking the bank and then one or two truly special ones that are a one off purchase and you only break out on very rare occasions
Thanks for a very nice review. I have and/or tried the Killowen and the Powers John Lane. Both are exceptional and ones I will buy again. For a budget great tasting Irish whiskey I like Silkie The Legendary. Not something to impress someone, but very good. Sláinte
Thanks for the comment, and glad you liked the video! Silkie are putting out some solid drops alright, and I do appreciate the transparency they give on their website about the composition of each of their whiskeys!
Top tip : No one really likes the Tate of whiskey. Their favourites are often picked due to associations with fond memories at the time of consumption 😂 Also : Writers Tears is a FANTASTIC sipping whiskey! Waterford 1:1 is also very good
@@TheWhiskeyNerd agree Waterford is expensive. Writers Tears has been a go to for me the past couple of years. I tasted Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix over Christmas, very pricy but was very good
Writers tears, and the Irishman, are two lines which are always reliable and generally solid value! I've not tried the Snow Phoenix, but I just looked it up. Sounds delicious but yeah, very expensive!
Pretty simple, a lot of my viewers are from America, and even in states or stores where these whiskeys might be available, they can be on the shelf for 2 or 3 (or MORE) times the recommended price. Even in Ireland, some of these whiskeys come out in batches, so people might have to get them at auction.
What Irish whiskey would you use to impress people?
Midleton Very Rare Irish Whiskey 2023!!
Redbreast dream cask (one of the 6) for sure
@@christinecamleyif you're lucky enough to find one! 😂😂
@@tombularbellsdefinitely a dream of mine to get one!
@@TheWhiskeyNerd A friend has all 6. Even double. He gave me already a sample of the first 5. Absolute belters!
Two Irish whiskies I had recently, no longer easy to find, were the Clonakilty and Knappogue Castle. Both very nice!
Those are great little choices!
Great job introducing new Whiskeys that I never knew about. Thanks
Happy to help!

Glad you like the video Christine! And hopefully you can find more blue spot!
@@TheWhiskeyNerd Thanks so much Matt! I hope you and Rose are having an awesome day!! 🙂
my store always got blue spot

My pleasure! I like picking out things that are a little different, but still tasty!
Great list Matt, I will be on the lookout for the Powers and I'm really curious about the Jameson, hope it drops in my market as well.
I hope so too!
Great video and new subscriber
Have all but the Celtic.
Solid bottles and was nice to see Killowen in the mix. Just found them recently
Awesome, thank you!
We actually just visited the Killowen Distillery yesterday afternoon and it was great to see their operations first hand!
Very impressive line up Matt. Your whisky number 4 would be my pick, or Dingle Single malt. Cheers!
Cheers Jeff! Hope you've been able to lay your hands on some more fun Irish whiskeys!
That's a great shopping list to look out for. I do enjoy Irish whiskey, but haven't yet found my "impress a guest" bottle.
I'm sure the right whiskey is out there, and it'll be a fun process finding it!
@@TheWhiskeyNerd I love the search almost as much as the find 😁
Would love a Celtic Cask bottling! Do you know where they source their single malt from..?

@@TheWhiskeyNerd thanks bud. So are you making 5 cocktails this week? Lol
@@OldFashionedWays Haha! I don't think my liver could handle it!
was that power's John's Lane the celtic whiskey shop exclusive edition? bottle looks very different to the normal one?
It was actually the standard John's Lane. I have an old bottle which I prefer to the new design, so I refill it whenever it gets empty! 😂

John Lane is my favorite as well.
Hard to think it's only been around about 12 years, it feels like such a "classic" whiskey
I loooooove Red Breast 12. I got the cask strength and I honestly did not enjoy it at all. It was so different and harsh for me.
Oh wow! Maybe it'll grow on you, but the standard version is a great bottle!
Why no Dunvilles?! Their single casks are incredible!
They are indeed! Good call mentioning them. It's a good problem to have that there's so many great Irish whiskeys on the market!
Black Bush deserves a mention, Belfast or nay.😮
Oh it's a solid whiskey, maybe not up there as a great "impressive" one, but one which is always enjoyable

Waterford 1:1 is also very good
Ah Waterford, I think they were a bit too expensive though.
And yeah, it's absolutely true that good company can influence the enjoyment of a whiskey!

Does peanut butter whiskey count? 😂😅😅😅
of course it does. lol
Hehe! It definitely helps show people a different side of whiskey!
Why in Gods sweet name didn't you give the retail prices on these?!?!

Thats why I drink whiskey .. to impress people .. ffs ..
Sometimes you do want to show off something special, especially to folks who think all whiskey is the same!
