I have to wear ear plugs at times on long rides due to ringing from the exhaust, but loud pipes save lives. Just remember to keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up.

To make yourself feel better at present I would suggest that you get something to put over the seat. A gel pad doesn't take up much space can be placed on the seat for when you ride. No one will see it because it's under your ass that will help for now. But there's a bigger problem with the solo seat in that is that you can't pick up a chick. With my V-Star 1100 I went with the stock seat took off the sissy bar and saddlebags and it looks amazing

Hi Jax, I'm looking at aftermarket exhaust for my xvs650, it seems that Vance & Hines are the go, I'm trying to decide between Short Shots and Cruzers. Do you have any suggestion there?
I like the short shots because that is what I have plus I like the looks of them more. I think in terms of sound they're about the same, the short shots may be louder though.
I have the short shots, they do look great. IMO they’re a bit too loud though. So loud... Great sound though.
