Project 2025 envisions widespread changes across the government, particularly economic and social policies and the role of the federal government and its agencies.
The plan proposes taking partisan control of the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Commerce, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), dismantling the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and sharply reducing environmental and climate change regulations to favour fossil fuel production.
Paul Dans, the project's director, said in April 2023 that Project 2025 is "systematically preparing to march into office and bring a new army, [of] aligned, trained, and essentially weaponized conservatives ready to do battle against the deep state." The Project proposes deploying the military for domestic law enforcement.

Once upon a time, the president had the authority to just fire and replace federal employees. It did not go well. Which is why we passed laws limiting presidential appointees. In my opinion, we still allow too many appointees. 4,000 is insane. Our federal workforce needs to be merits based, not ideology based.

Most civil service positions have been considered "apolitical." The same people doing the same job regardless of whether the president is Republican or Democrat. The military is a good example. They swear an oath to the Constitution, not to the president.
Project 2025 will replace those who swear an oath to the Constitution with people who will swear an oath to Donald Trump.

Hope someone in the US will answer this as well but would look into things like drawing up wills where your assets are willed activly to them as a person not only through marriage status, look into if there are possibilities of putting them as beneficiaries on diffrent insurances, pension schemes etc regardless of marriage and the other way around. As you've identified I wouldn't bet on GOP respecting any rules or conventions. I personally have gotten very involved in politics where I live to build a better and very different future but that has been my call here thing is I don't think there is a way to sit this one out there is a choice however how to do things .
