@@jyan727 from what I gather, it brings down the bass and leaves everything else alone for the most part. Looking at the graph, I would have come to a similar conclusion to you. However, I just bought it, listened to it and found it very engaging. To my surprise, I have not yet found it fatiguing. I didn't find Estrella strayed too far from Harmon that it ruined timbre for a lot of rock, metal and hip hop. If I delved into the jazz side of my library, I'm sure I would find it to be overcooked, but that's not what Estrella is for.
Reviews like these make me really appreciate reviews that have a few different IEMs to compare the one IEM to. This allows for reference points in treble, bass, mids, details, ect to be made more clearly. It gives more value and structure to the review. I do appreciate everyone having their own style of reviewing, but I think the method I’ve just layed out is a better one adapted by some reviewers out there like AtechReviews and Akros. I like the terminology (cooked) and the notes you draw to in your reviews, also the side view fit of the iem that you do is awesome. If you were able to draw a couple comparison to, for example, the pilgrim or mega5est in this review it would help shed light on what ways the Estrella doesn’t stack up to them. Just my two cents, Cheers!
The Estrella definitely leans hard into its top end. IMO the bass quality is lacking, despite its big quantity. Just doesn't compare to its top end, so I EQ the low end down a few dB. It's too much. Helps minimize the overly artificial sounding sense of contrast too. I think Jay missed the ball by deciding ultimately to kick up the bass and then tell people to do a tape mod. I suspect the folks at Ziigaat persuaded him to go for a v-shape when he really wanted to go for a vocals and treble set. Telling people to do a tape mod is not a good solution IMO.
I've got the Dunu Davinci, Pilgrim and Ziigaat Estrella. The Pilgrim was incredibly disappointing, lots of detail but no emotion. The Davinci was better, but the Estrella is way more fun. Works especially well for female vocals and classical. Also, wins for Louis Armstrong - spacious and good staging.
Got mine about a month ago, and they can get a bit shouty but when listening to extreme metal I got so much more details retrieval and separation much more than the Chopin (very uncomfortable by the way) that for me the estrella even if they can get fatiguing are really good for my point of, they should be sold 250 max I think
This is the IEM that has made me stop being ambitious with my buys. I bought it before knowing much about it, and yeah, it's just far too aggressive in its sound in the treble for the genres I listen to. But I love the content Jay puts out so in the end I'm happy to have supported him. He said in his interview with Crinacle that he wouldn't go as spicy in the treble in his next IEM, I'd like to see that.
Opinions vary.... Preferences vary.... I am both treble sensitive and don't like way too much sub and mid bass presence.... If the mids are way on to my face it gives me a headache.... I prefer everything at a balance with great sound stage and details.... But its just my preference..... For me @Super*Review has been my go to reviewer with great explanations and comparisons.... I am from India.... People tend to see $50 products as expensive stuff.... So buying IEM with the price tag of more than $100 dollars is a luxury.... But I was lucky enough to try many iems from my friends and colleagues and have managed to identify my needs regarding audio products.... I would really love to ask Mark sir if spending more than 100 bucks on IEMs worth the upgrade from the cheapies of upto $50 dollar price tag? Or is it just more of diminishing return thing? It is my earnest request to Mark to answer this question.... ❤️ Your reviews....
There's no easy way to answer the question. I could be happy with IEMs like the Moondrop LAN and Tin C2. There are things more expensive IEMs do that I like, and that I can't find in cheaper IEMs, but there are also a lot of expensive IEMs that are way worse than C2 and LAN. #1 suggestion: Get good with parametric EQ. You can get results with a $50 IEM that rival expensive sets. And if you find a tuning you really like with PEQ, and want to buy an expensive IEM with that tuning, you saved yourself a lot of wasted effort trying expensive IEMs that aren't what you want.
@@SuperReview Thank you very much for the reply sir.... Since I am a newbie to this hobby I don't really understand a lot of stuff.... Most of the time I end up messing it up.... 😅 Still trying my best... Actually I would love to see a video from you explaining how to EQ🥺❤️....

Good for the price. Bassy in stock form. After its eqed the same is other planars the bass is a touch slower and the treble a touch better. Most planars are kinda the same nowadays
Im going to give these a try. If they are harsh in the trebel and somehow I dont hear it, I might be in trouble lol but maybe in a good way. Ill give these a try. I wish there were some comparisons though. I really like the Da Vinci Edit: I just bought the Estrella, and I REALLY like them. They make the music in your face and engaging but it sounds spacious at the same time.
It is an extreme IEM I would agree. But if you work with it, you are rewarded (source, tips, cable, mods). It's very good hardware, is my point, but it's not exactly plug and play.
Also, it's EASY to get a ish-load of bass if you simply remove the lower mids and the mids, and boost mid-highs and highs or air. But you get a hollow, piercing sound. Like the Simgot EW300. The question is, would you trade a great bass for literally everything else on the spectrum? Right...
I'm really curious what your thoughts on the KZ ZS12 Pro X are. It follows this graph but a little bit more treble at the 8K mark on. I have the tuning version and find it super fun.
Jay also contradicted himself in some of the comment sections lol. He recommended these for bass cannons and later said, 'when did I say that'. they look fine, idk why he has to spin it around like that
Funny how so many have an opinion who haven’t even tried them. I’m a basshead who is sensitive to treble. I have many basshead sets: Scarlet Mini, Legato, Bravado mkII, OH10, Doscincos, Meteors and others. I love the Doscincos so much (may be the best basshead set under $500) so was curious about the Estrellas. They’re very much like the Doscincos but have a bit more sparkle and width. The soundstage is something ethereal. It all comes down to how we listen folks. I’m an electronic musician with many headphones as well. I use the LCD X 2021 as my main cans to mix. I’m also a gamer. Let me tell you how good the Estrellas are just hooked up to my PS5 controller. The extra bass, treble and width sound amazing on the PS5. I use Spotify as my background music when I game (usually VR). There is no EQ on console Spotify as there is on mobile. The Doscincos are great for gaming but I feel the Estrellas are even better. The layering and separation are great as you mention. I have certain uses for different iems. The Doscincos are great to mix on, as are the Meteors. The Estrellas are great for just plugging in for gaming or YT music and Im a very happy owner. The dual isobaric DDs slam harder than they graph. The new E50 super tweeters sound like ESTs. The treble exists higher in your head and the music resides in a bigger space. Like the sphere of sound around your head is larger than most. It’s not an all rounder but a very important and unique iem in my lineup that gets used every day. They do better with Azla ASMR tips to enhance bass and limit treble a bit. People like Mark and Timmy etc are more neutral fans, this iem is not for them. Although I still will thank you Mark for your Meteor review that nudged me to get them. I love that the Estrella is not the same boring tuning being put out over and over again and I wanted them over the DaVinci, Hype 4 and Tea Pro, and am thrilled. This iem has had me say WOW to certain tracks more than any other.
I could buy open box hype4 for $200 and I passed on it because I liked doscincos better . I was ready to grab estrella because I loved their tunning similar to docincos but with better extended treble but I found campfire atlas on drop for under $300 and could not resist such a good deal . Atlas is exactly what I was looking for in iems , sound signature similar to fostex th900 or kennerton gh50 . It sound great on qudelix 5k and sounds amazing on burson conductor 3r with Feliks echo mk2 tube amp ....
well on the graph it doesn't seem particularly compliant to the end-game target. more bass, more 1khz, no 3khz peak, *less* lower treble. shows how grating a real end-game-tuned iem will sound!
Want to get into IEMs, however I can only use them for an hour until my ears canals become sore. In your opinion what is the most comfortable IEMs you have tried?
Force yourself to use them for a week or two. When i transitioned from headphones to IEM's i too couldn't stand them for longer than 1-2 hours. After a week, i had no issues wearing IEM's for 5-6-7 hours. And i pretty much exclusively use IEM's now because they sound better for cheaper, they're much lighter than headphones that inevitably cause neck strain after prolonged use and my hair doesn't have "a headband" after 30 min of use which looks funny.
can anyone help me.. i just got the ziigaat arete.. i love em and they are good for music and great for gaming (atleast the game i play).. that was my goal.. a gaming/music iem... but im still super curious about the estella because tho i do want a ''gaming'' iem i still want really good music performance. for someone who has both am i missing out on anything... is it worth it for me to try them out (i do have the option to send back to amazon) ... thanks for your feedback in advance
hello, thank-you for your review. I don't think I have seen your five star review system before. Do you have a spreadsheet with all your IEM, and headphones ratings?
How's Estrella fare against one in the same price or higher for you? Cuz I don't see any in-depth comparison here, so I'd love to know your opinion. Thx in advance.
Mark and Crin "shill" moondrop, whats your point? Crin too likes Simgot because just like Moondrop they follow Harman target. Mark too gave EM6L and EA1000 4 stars which mean he finds them "above average" considering he gives most stuff 3* regardless of the price. Its fine if you don't like Simgot and their "house sound" but at least make sure you're not speaking out of ur butthole.
By creating Estrella you have created not only an excellent listening tool, but also an equally excellent tool for testing your listening skills. And if someone fails the test, it is not a problem with the device.
Jay had been hyping the Simgot EA1000 as the best IEM in it's price range. Due to this Crinacle was being inundated with requests to review the EA1000 (this was back when he was still reviewing IEMS). When he finally did he basically said the EA1000 is "mid" and has shout and treble problems and that his new upcoming collab "Singolo" had groundbreaking new tech inside and was basically the true gods gift to single DD audio that Jay had been claiming the EA1000 to be. Jay didn't take this well and responded with a video called "Why you SHOULDN'T trust Crinacle". Singolo was released and was more or less as "mid" as the EA1000 and in the interim everything has blown over and Jay and Crin have gotten passed it. Moral of the story: everyone has their own preferences.
@@TonkyTronicus To be fair, people seem to really like Simgot in almost every comment section. Thats the idea behind Harman target - it'd appeal to most people and with EA1000 having more emphasis on the midbass instead of boosted and bloaty subbass likely makes it even more appealing.
Dusk, Meteor, Kinda Lava, IE 600 all have pretty standout bass and high ratings from me. If you just want lots of bass and don't care about the rest sounding good, yeah, that's not me.
ZiiGaat has one of the Best IEMs in that $200-300 price range with the Worst accessories especially the cables for the last few are even worse then Cincotres and Doscinco and the case is just a joke btw this exact case companies can buy in China in bulk for several cents that how much it costs to ZiiGaat to put this thing in their IEMs it the same for the cables and eartips well even worse for the eartips
@@SuperReview just try it once if you still have the unit. The tapemod was the original tuning for estrella, intended for acoustic tracks. It become more detailed and brings out the mids. Maybe you'll like it more.
Well.. if you have to put a piece of tape for obtaining another (better?) result, better buy another iem. 300$ and having to tape an hole.. it's not really the purpose of the purchase

What is the difference between an enduser and a formal reviewer? Enduser will change the cable to graphene, select the ear pads, warm up the headphones for 100 hours. And then he will record the review. Unfortunately and fortunately, Estrella turned out to be too complicated for many people. This is what differentiates an electron microscope from a hammer. Unfortunately, you thought it was a hammer and began to evaluate it from the point of view of driving nails.
Mark your review seems biased to me and you lack depth of thought. Lacks many comparisons with other IEMs. And yes, Estrella competes with many IEMs above its price point, even some blown directly by Estrella. Your reviews are for beginners audiophile! I didn't find Estrella strayed too far from Harmon that it ruined timbre for a lot of rock, metal and hip hop. If I delved into the jazz side of my library, I'm sure I would find it to be overcooked, but that's not what Estrella is for.
Your point about his comment on Simgot is right on. Really turned me off to him.
Watch his vid, he says he boosted it because a poll wanted more bass. I dont really agree with the treble and high mids boost however
I've got the Dunu Davinci, Pilgrim and Ziigaat Estrella. The Pilgrim was incredibly disappointing, lots of detail but no emotion. The Davinci was better, but the Estrella is way more fun.
Works especially well for female vocals and classical. Also, wins for Louis Armstrong - spacious and good staging.
It's a fun and exciting IEM, i tried a friend's unit. Although female vocals were a bit sharp for my liking.
After a year and a half I learnt to understand FR graphs quite good now.... I try EQ ing my IEMs(Hola, Salnotes zero, Zero: Red).... Most of the time I end up messing it up.... 😅 Still trying my best... Actually I would love to see a video from you explaining how to EQ🥺❤️....
As always your reviews are detailed and informative. I am really waiting for your review of the hidizs mp 145 . A big thanks for all the wonderful reviews sir 😊 cheers
Thanks, but don't wait for Hidizs review, not coming.
Good for the price. Bassy in stock form. After its eqed the same is other planars the bass is a touch slower and the treble a touch better. Most planars are kinda the same nowadays
Nice review, thanks!
The best non spanish speaker pronunciation of the set name
Im going to give these a try. If they are harsh in the trebel and somehow I dont hear it, I might be in trouble lol but maybe in a good way. Ill give these a try. I wish there were some comparisons though. I really like the Da Vinci
Edit: I just bought the Estrella, and I REALLY like them. They make the music in your face and engaging but it sounds spacious at the same time.
It is an extreme IEM I would agree. But if you work with it, you are rewarded (source, tips, cable, mods). It's very good hardware, is my point, but it's not exactly plug and play.
Those ziigaat eartips do not work for me and the cable is subpar...but they sound profiles ziigaat is putting out is legit.
Also, it's EASY to get a ish-load of bass if you simply remove the lower mids and the mids, and boost mid-highs and highs or air. But you get a hollow, piercing sound. Like the Simgot EW300. The question is, would you trade a great bass for literally everything else on the spectrum? Right...
So far the kz black stock tips work best for me so far
Why it looks like a paid comment
I could buy open box hype4 for $200 and I passed on it because I liked doscincos better . I was ready to grab estrella because I loved their tunning similar to docincos but with better extended treble but I found campfire atlas on drop for under $300 and could not resist such a good deal . Atlas is exactly what I was looking for in iems , sound signature similar to fostex th900 or kennerton gh50 . It sound great on qudelix 5k and sounds amazing on burson conductor 3r with Feliks echo mk2 tube amp ....
except obviously person doing this review. did try them
It’s fascinating how different my opinion is compared to yours, Mark but nonetheless I respect it!
🤙 I respect you too.
@@SuperReview nothing but love, Mark 🤝
If you found the treble spicy, try sancai tips, saw a review calling it tip sensitive
I believe this is based on a target that Jay has come up with in combination with that Sharur kid
To a Symphonium iem
Sharur...
I LMAO evrytiem
well on the graph it doesn't seem particularly compliant to the end-game target. more bass, more 1khz, no 3khz peak, *less* lower treble. shows how grating a real end-game-tuned iem will sound!
Driver flex is kind of a deal breaker tbh
It's pretty unpleasant.
Try tape mod
It's more like your preferences
Jay's claims were for this tuning
This hard v shaped voted by the audiences
Driver flex already there. With Tape mod it will be very very bad.
Edit _ Driver flex is not there in my unit.
Want to get into IEMs, however I can only use them for an hour until my ears canals become sore. In your opinion what is the most comfortable IEMs you have tried?
AirPods Pro, Sennheiser IE 200/600/900.
Godspeed with the hoard coming your way 😅
can anyone help me.. i just got the ziigaat arete.. i love em and they are good for music and great for gaming (atleast the game i play).. that was my goal.. a gaming/music iem... but im still super curious about the estella because tho i do want a ''gaming'' iem i still want really good music performance. for someone who has both am i missing out on anything... is it worth it for me to try them out (i do have the option to send back to amazon) ... thanks for your feedback in advance
hello, thank-you for your review. I don't think I have seen your five star review system before. Do you have a spreadsheet with all your IEM, and headphones ratings?
Not in a spreadsheet, but my scores are displayed on Squiglink: squig.link/
How's Estrella fare against one in the same price or higher for you? Cuz I don't see any in-depth comparison here, so I'd love to know your opinion. Thx in advance.
😱😱 impress
Mark, are u going to review the xenns mangird tea pro?
Not planning to.
@@SuperReview because it hasn't been sent to you or you are not interested in?
@@SuperReview Aww... My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
How come, though?
@@haomingli6175 I've got a backlog and if I added Tea Pro to my backlog by the time I got to it people wouldn't care.
would you review the ziigaat cincotres?
Probably not.
I'm only listening to you, crinacle and the headphone guys atm. Jay and Hbb just flat out shill Simgot.
Crin is the worst shill in the industry man 😂😂
Mark and Crin "shill" moondrop, whats your point? Crin too likes Simgot because just like Moondrop they follow Harman target. Mark too gave EM6L and EA1000 4 stars which mean he finds them "above average" considering he gives most stuff 3* regardless of the price.
Its fine if you don't like Simgot and their "house sound" but at least make sure you're not speaking out of ur butthole.
Appreciate the review Mark ❤️
Congrats on the launch 🤙
By creating Estrella you have created not only an excellent listening tool, but also an equally excellent tool for testing your listening skills. And if someone fails the test, it is not a problem with the device.
Ziigaat Logo and name, both are horrendous. No matter how good iems they make, that logo will forever scream cheap in Chinese.
Damn, you really are playing with fire in this one....yet ready for the backlash😢
Come on Mark release the supermix 4 video thats in the vault.
Supermix4 is similar to Estrella, too bright, but with less bass.
We all knew you would not enjoy this one😉 - should just have gone straight to the Tea Pro test😂
Really? I didn't.
sometimes followers know you better😊
I agree. I honestly think it's an overall good thing, though. If someone is familiar with a reviewers preference, then it helps all the more I'd say
I will stick to my Moondrop Dusk as a better value hehe
Could someone feel me in on that simgot thing mentioned in the beginning, please?
@@TonkyTronicus thank you
@@TonkyTronicus To be fair, people seem to really like Simgot in almost every comment section. Thats the idea behind Harman target - it'd appeal to most people and with EA1000 having more emphasis on the midbass instead of boosted and bloaty subbass likely makes it even more appealing.
Hi sir which one do you prefer this ziigat x jay estrella or hype 4 thie audio?

You give low ratings to IEMs with powerful bass. Your reviews are consistent and trustworthy.
Dusk, Meteor, Kinda Lava, IE 600 all have pretty standout bass and high ratings from me. If you just want lots of bass and don't care about the rest sounding good, yeah, that's not me.
Canon 2 and Ie600 are lovely sounding with awesome boosted basss. You are awesome reviewer @@SuperReview
hbb's blon z300 has big bass and mark gave it 4 star
ZiiGaat has one of the Best IEMs in that $200-300 price range with the Worst accessories especially the cables for the last few are even worse then Cincotres and Doscinco
and the case is just a joke btw this exact case companies can buy in China in bulk for several cents that how much it costs to ZiiGaat to put this thing in their IEMs it the same for the cables and eartips well even worse for the eartips
this vs SM4?????
SuperMix is similarly too spicy, I heard that one as more sibilant too.
@@SuperReview any chance of reviewing em?
Nah.
Estrella to me sounds like a mini Monarch Mk3.
U mean better
@@heyking8583 The bass is faster on Estrella but overall MMK3 is the winner for me.
Did you try the Tapemod? It brings down the bass significantly.
Nah, the bass is probably the best part. What's that do to the driver flex?
@@SuperReview just try it once if you still have the unit. The tapemod was the original tuning for estrella, intended for acoustic tracks. It become more detailed and brings out the mids. Maybe you'll like it more.
Well.. if you have to put a piece of tape for obtaining another (better?) result, better buy another iem. 300$ and having to tape an hole.. it's not really the purpose of the purchase
@@chinmayrasam because it has so much treble, you need the bass to balance it out.
Why does everyone pronounce it's name as EstreYa instead of EstreLLa? There seems to be something I'm not getting here...
Wait, how do you pronounce your username?
@@SuperReview [ˈxwãn] [ˈblãŋ.ko]
That is, in a Mexican Spanish manner, im case you don't know IPA (I myself do no't 😅).
OK, I asked because "estrella" is Spanish for "star" and in Spanish a double-L is pronounced as an English Y-sound.
@@SuperReview HAHAHAHAHHAHA this is comedy gold
@@SuperReview Haha, wow, I had no idea! Wouldn't have guessed, to be honest.
Now there's no choice but to admit that I'm an impostor. I am Slavic and this this username is one of my unimaginative pseudonyms.

What is electronic music 😂
LOL only word I could think of was "techno" and that sounded so '90s.
I like my chinese fried rice overcooked. I don't want to cook my iem at all. Whoever told you to cook an iem is giving bad advice.
Don't knock it 'til you try it. Meteor with a little peanut oil on high heat is pretty good.
Apperamtly I should have cooked popcorn.
Mark your review seems biased to me and you lack depth of thought. Lacks many comparisons with other IEMs. And yes, Estrella competes with many IEMs above its price point, even some blown directly by Estrella. Your reviews are for beginners audiophile! It's time to start doing in-depth reviews instead of spending half an hour describing what's in the box it's just frivolous! This hobby is subjective, but try not to be so superficial. Have a nice day!
Gotcha.
I think you took a swing at this IEM and missed badly maybe even dropped the bat. See ya on the next one. I absolutely love the Estrella, except the crap cable.
Dropped the bat, haven't heard that part of the metaphor before.
Nothing under $1000 can touch this
