thank you for your great review. These are my personal thoughts : My concern with this song is that we, as Greeks, might become overconfident in Klavdia’s undeniably amazing voice and the strengths of the song, while perhaps overlooking how it is perceived by international audiences and some of its weaknesses. Here's my take on the pros and cons:
    Pros:
    Incredible vocals.
A dramatic song that evokes deep emotion and can touch the hearts of many, especially those going through struggles.
Klavdia’s unique look, which seems to intrigue and resonate with people.
    Cons:
It’s a very niche and distinctly Greek song, which may or may not connect with a broader audience. We need to consider how to make it resonate more universally.
The build-up is slow, even though the a capella opening is excellent-it takes too long to reach the next stage.
The finale is not strong enough. While I love the a capella finish, something more explosive is needed before that moment-audiences are expecting it.
Staging is tricky. Klavdia shouldn’t be overshadowed by effects or dancers, but for a foreign audience unfamiliar with the language and the story, the staging needs to narrate the song more clearly. It should add drama and context without being confusing-remaining clean, modern, and minimal. This will be a big challenge. All of these symbolism ( the fabric is a swirl and represents infinity ya dah ya dah ) mean little to an audience who don't know the first thing about Greek history.
All of these elements need to be addressed from the perspective of non-Greeks who don't understand the language or culture. Overall, it’s a beautiful song, and Klavdia is incredibly talented. With the right adjustments, this could perform very well in May.

The young singer revealed in a recent interview the true story behind the song. Her family, due to their Pontic origin, experienced refugee life firsthand, once being forced to settle in the Soviet Union, before deciding to return to Greece in 1991. Influenced by the experiences of her ancestors, Klavdia attempts to give voice to those who are forced - then and now - to abandon their homeland and seek a better tomorrow. As she herself has revealed, the title “Asteromata” refers to a beautiful woman whose eyes shine like stars, symbolizing hope and light in the bleak reality of uprooting. In this way, Klavdia pays tribute to her family’s history, while at the same time sending a universal message for all those seeking freedom and safety away from the war zone of their homeland.

Lyrics of ‘’Asteromata’’ in a ''free'' translation:
    My star, my star.
My sweet mother, don’t you cry, even though they made you dress in black.
My faded body cannot be defeated by flames.
The spring birds of fire even when they cross seas, they never forget the soils they rooted from.
My little starry eyed, lean so that I can kiss you.
To quench my lips on your holy tears.
My little starry eyed, lean on me to touch you
To rest forever my long-forgotten wings.
Aaaaah, my star , my treasure.
My sweet mother don’t you cry, my life is a ship.
That is longing for the return trip, for the wind in my sail.
My little starry eyed, lean on me to touch you
To rest forever my long-forgotten wings.
Aaaaah, my star , my treasure.
Aaaaah, my star , my treasure.
    My star.
It reffers to people fleeing their homelands , losing their motherland. But in a broader sense you can relate it to any loss. It touches this sense of missing what you love and consider ''home''. Whatever it is that you lost and longing for... a person, a love, a country.

Τhe song is a dialogue in metaphor between the motherland and the refugees who are portraid as a little fragile girl "Asteromata" (the girl with eyes bright as a star a metaphor for hope maybe).
The "girl" is telling to her beloved mother that even if she is separated from her, she will endure no matter the dangers and the suffering and she will not ever forget her. The mother wants to comfort asteromata during the lullaby. Finally in the chorus the mother cries out for her lost precious child. The cloth is a umbilical cord where the child is missing and the same time is a spiral, the symbol of eternity. It is either red (bloodish) or blue (goddish).Choreography and everything else will change, there won't be much of a dance though, the song is sad

The Spiral, which combines the shape of a circle and its Dynamic movement, symbolizes Time. As part of a smooth, endless line, it also symbolizes growth, continuity, the rhythm of breathing and life itself. When worn as a personal amulet, the Spiral helps our consciousness to accept the twists, turns, and changes of life.
Spirals or vortices are associated with the weaving and weaving of the web of life and the veil of the Mother Goddess who controls destiny and weaves the veil of illusion.
The Spiral also has the same symbolism as the Labyrinth and its dance or walk.
In the metaphysical realm, it symbolizes the realms of existence, the various modes of existence, the wanderings of a soul in manifestation, and the final return to the Center.
The spiral is connected to the navel as a center of power and life.
