I have some pioneer studio monitors for my ddj100 but I just brought so donner monitor's and tbh they are OK I have my sl1210.s running through a mixer in to them there price is great if you need something cheap 😀
I mean, this is an all right deal but you could just get a Scarlett Solo and the combo pack with headphones, mic, xlr and headphones is about the same cost as both these items combined. That all said, the monitors are a hell of a deal.
ive had this audio interface for 2 years or so. does the job but i get this buzzing going on, i dont think its the interface, my moneys on either the xlr cable or the preamp i got
A new nut, a little Phillip McKnight style neck work, p90 alnico V neck and retrofit a real tele ashtray 3pt brass bridge w/Lace gold single..its going to be a monster player.
I think I paid about the same or a little less for my focusrite solo and set of presonus Eris 3.5 monitors. If this were around last year I might have gone with it. Donner make some pretty good budget gear. I dig the "Square" series mini pedals they make.
having an underpowered non-mac laptop is why all of these videos of budget recording setups - with no mention about the computer side of things - is why I cannot record any decent guitar tracks! I feel that nobody mentioning the fact that a very powerful computer is needed, makes the whole budget thing very dishonest and misleading! and BTW, I cannot even get any free amp sims to work properly - the audio chokes - and that is running into an M-audio AIR 192/4! Need at least a $1200 performance computer for this to work, and not everybody can afford that!!!
You must have a seriously slow or old computer, im using a desktop PC that i built in 2012 and its still very capable, sure it was around the sum of money you mentioned just for the computer itself without any monitor etc and it is an Intel I7 quad core, but its also quite old by now and much cheaper computers these days should beat it in power. I do full mixes with live drums or even sampled ones. You mention "192" (in the interface name) if you do, dont use 192 sampling rate that is only for audiofools, use 44.1 or 48Khz but be sure to use 24 bits for the dynamic range, higher samplig rate will only take a lot of cpu power. I started recording on a computer in 1996, much has changed and plugins and even real time effects wasnt really a thing then because of lack of cpu power, that computer cost much more than the one i have at the moment also, so prices on computers has come down by a lot since then.
@@Stefan- and thats my point, NO ONE is talking about the computer specs itself, just whatever new toys to buy...but NEVER the foundation for recording guitars!!!
@@thisiscrap34 It could probably be adressed more, im sure there are people that adress computers in relation to recording here on youtube, but maybe not so much the guitar related channels. Personally i wouldnt call using plugins the foundation for recording guitars though, but i may possibly have a very different perspective as i was an adult when recording on computers was a new thing (dont know your age). I actually quite recently started testing using amp plugins, before i either miced up an amp or ran an amp or modeler direct with IR speaker emulation. Plugins have the advantage that you can make adjustments after it was recorded since you record the clean guitar signal, you can of course reamp real physical amps , but i have never done that. The amp plugins can be fairly cpu heavy, but almost any old computer can record several channels of digital audio at once, mixing may be another matter though depending on how many real time effect plugins you need to use.
I actually was going to make a video about computers completely non relevant to my normal content, just because I like tech channels… but in all honesty, the stuff I’m using should be able to run pretty well on any computer that can handle windows 10. Reaper and Amped Roots have pretty low requirements to run
@@TaylorDanley Reaper is crazy low in demands for CPU, i am currently using my old Dell Pentium 4 (single core, 2gb Ram, windows XP) desktop from 2005 to record my band recording 16 channels at once via firewire and using DAW monitoring through the computer. I previously used an old copy of Cubase 5 and although this version of Cubase is from 2009 (Windows XP era) it wouldnt cope with that (i tested), but a completely new version of Reaper did and they are still even offcially supporting windows XP. I can really recommend Reaper after switching from Cubase 5. Since i dont have a laptop and also wanted to have a more permanent solution at the rehearsal studio being able to use my old almost disarded computer was a real budget solution, i am just tracking the band there, i do the mixing att home on my less old computer that is powerful enough. Maybe you should do a guitar/music/recording related computer video showing some things to people that dont have as much and long experience of this as you and i ?

Donner talked to Presonus and Focusrite…night went crazy, this was born
I'm planning on putting a laptop, pod go and pair of monitors as a studio
"I'm still evaluating this copy"
We all are, bro.
🤣
Donner seems to be on a mission to dethrone Behringer for quality budget music hardware.
I would take a Donner pedal over a Behringer any day of the week!!! Smaller, far better quality, and quiet!!!

I never thought about it that way but you’re not wrong!!

Great review, as always!👍
Donner makes decent quality at a fair price!
Thanks for uploading 🤘
Thanks! I agree ☝️

Yeah the monitors are pretty insane for the price. Hook up is a little odd, but they work great!

2:57 what are those wires specifically called? Bc I’ve been needing em to connect, I’d appreciate it. 😫
again another great and informative vid.
🙌
Great quality vid, thanks for the review I think these monitors are worth it.
2 Donner Guitars, 15 pedals and zero issues. Donner is doing well productwise.
Yeah I was blown away by the guitar they sent a while back. I like working with them when I get the opportunity!

Equally good setup 👍 they do make some great stuff!
I have the black studio speakers and they work good for me bro 😎
Good stuff... Next Nux Amp Acadamy... Iridium clone or better?
Can I used it to record a hiphop song ?
Can you please upload a driver for the device?
If you were traveling and needed a cheap interface, this would be good too. Not too expensive.
Totally. I actually considered taking it on my trip, but ended up not because you know… probably need to go outside and enjoy it lol
Grandma Glenn will be pissed!!
🤣
Can not mess with donner 🤘
💪
Between the donner and the comparable focusrite which would you choose?
Any feedback in regards with the streaming purposes comparing to focusrite?
I recently bought one of these. I am having issues with the 2nd gain knob being scratchy. Have you had this issue?
What software was used with this setup?
Reaper and the Amped Roots plugin
How is the clipping on this? I recently bought a focusrite 2i2 and found that my guitar signal kept clipping even with the gain all the way at zero.
It would be awesome to have a subwoofer
The worst thing about the Donner is if you have a party it will cannibalize your guests.
😂
basically, focusrite 2i2 and presonus 3.5 clones...
I can never ever ever, get any amp sims to sound even close to that...
Try the roots plug-in, it’s free and that’s basically what it sounded like when I loaded it up!
Cool now you can buy chinesium products for the same high price as U.S. outsourced products.
Can this be used with an iphone? I bought one but it doesnt seem to be powering it?
I hope so….
