    I’m lost. I quit a career that I hated and escaped a domestic violence situation. Nobody understands what I’m doing and constantly has unwanted advice or projects their own fears of the future onto me. But I’m more ok than i’ve ever been, getting back to the basics of living.

    Only a person who has been highly traumatised and r3covere£ could have made this video. My older brother was the one who traumatised me the most ...he was/is psychotic as a result of his own early life trauma. He has total childhood amnesia and is struturally disociared. Thanks Daniel you really are the real deal.

    Wow, I'm sorry Daniel. m"You have no friends! Your best friend is a dog!" What an incredibly cruel thing to say to your child. That really hit home...

      It's a strange put-down, as a dog is just about everybody's best friend!

      My parents used to humiliate me like that too. Now I know how to fight back "At least my dog and I love each other, what do you have? A kid you don't love and don't love you either"

    My best friend was a dog. I miss him more than anything else in the world. He always appreciated me. When I am completely alone, I reminisce over how much joy it gave me to bring and witness the joy in him and sob over how it's all done and gone.

    Your experience reminded me of my experience backpacking for two weeks. The whole experience was life changing. I was a sophomore in high school and what changed my perspectives the most was when they left us alone in the Sierra Nevada Mountains for 24 hours. I bawled my eyes out and it was not sadness that I was feeling, I was feeling alive, like a part of nature and I couldn’t believe my existence and the earth. I was grateful to have been with myself on that day. Then I got a sunburn meditating on being alive, connected to earth.

    I actually found your channel after "losing" my therapist (she didn't disappear or die or anything, she just wasn't helping so I quit therapy). I later did a search for 'therapy doesn't work' and found your video critiquing psychotherapy

    Great video Daniel! I call what you describe as "Freedom". The ability to come up with decision or choice to get out of a situation no matter how hard or difficult it is. The ability to overcome a block by means of creativity. To "renew" yourself in the face of obstacles. That requires something from the unconscious to emerge. And such power is a newly aquired "symbol" to understand yourself.

    • @SimoneBattaglia94
      @SimoneBattaglia94 4 года назад

      Ironically I think the commonplace idea of being "free" is mostly an illusion. And I think myself I didn't know the meaning of Freedom until a couple of years ago. Freedom in some sense was one of the best cures for my psychological suffering.

    Great video - thank you for articulating and sharing your experience🙏 - I enjoy your videos! - Seems there may be no healthy way to go thru life without acknowledging that each of us is lost in one way or another - Acknowledging that fact may be the only way for us to “BE found” - to reside in a paradoxical truth of beingness - that we are simultaneously always leaving an old home, searching for a new home, and at home in the here and right now. It’s like living and dying or being lost and found are one in the same.

    At 3:06 our ally, nature as embodied in the Blue Jay and that you described a mere second or two before, makes an appearance as if to remind us all. Truly, humanity's wellness is deeply dependent on the wellness of the natural environment. When will we all learn this fundamental truth and live symbiotically?

    living in humility/being vulnerable...when Jesus said "I am the WAY, the TRUTH and THE LIFE", "No one can come to the Father(real living) except through ME". The only way to God(life) is through an open stance of gentleness and humility and vulnerablility(Jesus is the ultimate example of this---the Way). It is the hardest thing for most humans to do!! ..to let go and trust, be vulnerable...be OK with being LOST and afraid(does not mean you are going to evaporate or find out you really are worthless. You are loved if you choose to believe it). And yet it is so simple that it eludes us many times thru life. Especially the extra-sensitive, we who were traumatized emotionally and cut off from our ability to be intimate...with ourselves or others, especially GOD...authority figures that hurt us caused this. Keep believing and opening yourself to THE WAY that God has offered all Mankind through Jesus example. Opening up and being vulnerable does not mean to ppl who do not deserve it, havent earned it by showing you they are worthy of trust...we must learn, honor and build boundaries with people, but not with ourselves and God...let's open those pathways that got shut wrongly by the 'death words' spoken to us as children and yes the physical and sexual things done to us that TRIED to steal our most precious gift..INTIMACY. The River of life inside, our Heart, our Well. Gods' love brings dead ppl to life, to our right mind(where we hear truth). Jesus didn't come to make bad ppl good...He came to make dead ppl ALIVE! Crying and grieving..I'm beginning to learn is OK and a part of being alive, just like laughing and feeling anger and brushing my teeth and feeling lost sometimes. Love you Daniel ! Keep making safe space for us to honor truth and discover our best selves.
    If we are protesting and angry and making other ppl mad and watching negative news and getting mad....that is not the way to life and finding your loving self...more of the same, distraction to keep us separated from intimacy.
