How are the 4 hydrogens on benzene in the same environment? I though there were only 2...? Because the immediate molecules they are attached to are different?!

You are correct, but for OCR, the detail for aromatic H environments is not required

I was confused about this as well because i drew benzene in displayed not skeletal and i was like these hydrogen environments are all different 😮
