One of the most beautiful played solo guitar pieces! I enjoyed this performance... What brilliant execution, taste and touch! And don't think I for a second that I wasn't listening at 3:07 ;)
Haha so u caught that little blues lick. A little american touch in there thanks to Mr. Wolfe and friends as yourself for teaching me the jazz language
Caro Felipe, parabens pela virtuose!!!!! Eh um alivio para o coraçao neste tempos tao dificeis .... Vou compartilhar com meus amigos no FB! Continue assim! Saude e paz! Abrcs
how does this video only have 9000 views?!!! Felipe you're the master and an inspiration! I just discovered your channel and I am hooked. So much valuable advice. Thank you!
That means a lot sir! Thank you so much. Will soon be recording with the nylon string again. Just going through a healing process of a right hand finger nail. Please let me know your thoughts on the rest of the material of the channel
Badass! I am curious if you also play electric??? I believe some of your shredding techniques transfer very well between the two (Im a better player on electric but your advice makes a lot of sense to me and im improving my finger picking tremendously)
Hey thank you brother! If you enjoyed that you might enjoy "Feira de Mangaio" or also the compositions for orchestra and guitar inside the channel! Be welcome !
thank u brother! this video is part of a subsection I've recently started within my channel which is dedicated to brazilian choros! subscribe to follow as I'll be recording many others! thank u for the view and the comment!
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar Wow, yeah, I just heard you play Jacob's tune, one of my favorites! You're probably one of the very few that can pull that off. Obrigado! I'm sure you'd sound great playing Hamilton's choros, too.
Bom demais querido, meus parabéns. Eu adorei como vc trabalhou a seção de improviso dela e como vc conseguiu colocar todas as influências ali, tanto do jazz o flamenco, mas tbm do choro. E meu as variações das partes estão lindíssimasxx
Hey Mr Snaffle! Thank you for the comment! Feel free to check out the rest of the stuff in the channel. There's a full section on original pieces for orchestra and guitar that you might like!
@@FelipeCoelhoGuitar hola Felipe, thanks for replying to my comment! Dont worry I have been checking out your videos they are amazing thank you for posting them, I subbed straight after the first one I saw :) I play flamenco, not as dedicated as you are with your style lol. This is why I get a lot of inspiration from your videos, you technical level is so good. I have some original music that I recorded through lockdown, it is not flamenco but uses flamenco technique/ keys/tunings etc with a splash of electric guitar thrown in here and there :) You can listen here: soundcloud.com/user-912063453/tracks or here: dominicchipperfield.bandcamp.com/
Ok, I saw your video about the secrets of speed, but what would be the secret to have speed and a almost clean and round sound like Paco de Lucia’s approach?
"there's no secret ingredient". Check out the picado tips and exercises on Volume 1 of the "hybrid technique" at IMusic Academy. Its a 50 minute video only about two finger picado. Paco's approach
Clean is not everything. Sometimes you can let go a little bit of the necessity to play absolutely clean in order to take some chances, prioritize rhythmic ideas, tempo changes e etc. Neither Paco or Yamandu or ever totally clean, but rather playful, took chances and were creative. I dont dig players that are obsessively clean but dont say much
Though I admire your virtuosity, talent and creativity, I believe that, at times, it interferes with the musical sense of the piece you're playing. It is only my opinion, of course, and in no way do I mean this comment as a put-down to your playing. The question is, how can one improve on the composer's creation and melodic sense without turning it into a note salad?
The tune is already a note salad. What I did was write variations over the harmony plus add a flamenco cadence twist. Now there are tunes like "Choro Pro Ze" which I recorded here, that are rather slow with much fewer notes, so then I respect that nature in my interpretation. But this "Desvairada" is naturally virtuosic. It was written that way. It is meant to be a technically challenging tune. What you are saying is for me to drive a Ferrari slowly, when it was designed to be fast. No point. I think your comment falls into the clichê of criticizing speed. Its so easy and old to say "oh but he plays too many notes". Say that to Charlie Parker, Oscar Peterson, Paco de Lucia, Eldar Djangirov... Note salads can be musical. The problem is that they cannot be done by those who wish, only by those who can. So the ones who cant, criticize.
I loved this arrangement and performance!😮

7 string guitar. Cool. Love your playing.
Awesomely 7 string guitars are very common in Choro music in place of a stringed bass instrument
GREAT.

Brilliant so musical and some very interesting re harmonization. Apart from Paulo bellinati edition what are edions about?
hello my friend! I did not know Bellinati played this. I just added some original ideas based on gypsy jazz and flamenco influence.
Dear Felipe it version shows ur grounding in many styles
Paulo arranged two books of garoto works and a cd. Great music. Rock on
I still come back too this, very creative I will start too transcribe it
Great performance! Amazing!!!
I like also the guitar. What guitar is that?
Hey Horia! This is a Wellignton Polegario guitar, from Rio de Janeiro.
