    Dramatics aside, this is actually really amazing footage. I actually didn't realize sharks had these subtle body languages, the head shaking, the mouth gaping I knew a little bit of, but the parallel swimming, all of that is so neat! AND THAT FIN CAM! WE NEED MORE OF THOSE! That was the coolest thing ever to see from the shark's POV! I want to see a really long video of shark POV into its daily life, hunting, migration, etc.!

    I know any shark cage I design for ME to go down in isn't going to have gaps for me to lean halfway out with a camera...

      If shark bites the cage and it’s full of metal, it wouldn’t bother, if it’s stuck inside the cage which is VERY RARE, it will either die or thrash around until it finds a way to escape because great whites don’t usually target human, they have plenty of seals and human don’t usually worth the effort since the seal is just full of fat and protein and human is relatively lean

    • @erinpatterson943
      @erinpatterson943 4 года назад +6

      It’s very rare for a great white to come up to a human. Also I think they know it’s a risk that the shark could come in. But sharks are way bigger than you think it wouldn’t fit probably.

    Every time I see video like this, I feel this overwhelming empathy for their hunger, and the desperation of the fights over potential food in a cage that none of them will get. I feel like the second the bodies hit the water, the electrical pulses and smells are like a dinner bell, and they all come driven by unimaginable hunger. It's... Really sad. True hunger can drive humans insane, so massive carnivores, who are overcrowded, hungry, constantly in competition to survive.. I feel for them.

    • @roadhouse6999
      @roadhouse6999 2 года назад +2

      Cold-blooded animals don't need to eat as often. They actually get obese if they do. It's a serious problem with alligators in a lot of zoos that don't understand this.
      It is kind of sad seeing a bunch of sharks working for a meal and only one or two getting it, though.

    • @jademoon7938
      @jademoon7938 2 года назад +3

      @@roadhouse6999 Sharks are not like alligators, especially not in zoos, never stop moving the entire time they're alive, they're constantly burning energy, and then hunting costs them extra. Great whites hunt high fat animals like seals because of the calories. It's worth it for them to pursue.
      So the expending of energy to catch a dummy seal is a precious resource they don't have anymore to hunt a real one. It's not like they're domed to die because of it but it still sucks.

    I really like the content in that its showing me something I didn't know about great whites before, but I really get irritated how they try to pump it up with dramatic music and make it into something terrifying. . . when really this is just a science expedition. . .these guys get in the water with sharks pretty often I would imagine so the dramatics annoy me. Instead of trying to be 'exciting' I would prefer more depth into the education side of this, spend less time on theatrics and spend more of the time teaching me something. Thanks.

      The problem with that is it's boring for people who don't care too much about the subject and those people make up the majority of the views compared to people like yourself who want to view it from an educated view, which I appreciate, but at the end of the day they need money and hyping these vids up is their answer to getting more views. This has become an unfortunate style of nature documentary film making....it used to be all about showing the animals....Cousteau and all the other great film makers knew that the ANIMALS were the star....in our new reality tv and "everyone's a star" era, that has happened over the past 20 years, there has been less and less of the animals and their behavior shown....and MORE and MORE of the people shown....doing nothing like pointing, looking at their computer, endlessly gabbing etc.
      The brilliance of the Cousteaus, Jouberts, Attenboroughs, Taylors and other great naturalist documentary makers and photographers has been replaced by people like the Kratt Brothers, Steve Irwin etc who make it all about THEM and the animals.
      And Shark week used to be about education and art, not infotainment and nonsense.
      Very sad.

      Me too!! My Grandpa is the one who got me into sharks every week we would eat popcorn and watch shark week. At 7 years old i first saw JAWS and I wish and didnt wish I would of watched it cuz my love for swimming and water is my most fun and passionate thing to do. But as far as swimming in deep dark big lakes it has put terror and fear in my mind. Just swimming and i know how to swim and seeing the jaws come up or a dorsal fin behind me. Omg. It kind of ruined it for lakes. And when I was at camp canoeing rowing kayaking tubing etc I would freak out and start hitting the water with the oars cuz some punk boy would find itfunny and scream SHARK!! watch out and then id imagine jaws breaching from below capsizing us. Lmao sounds funny but it was total fear I went completely numb. But I guess as I got older I grown more into them. I collect and buy ANYTHING that has sharks on it or has to do with sharks. Over the last 2 years my collection has grown lol

    • @Neurosis_Cordis
      @Neurosis_Cordis 2 года назад

      They are killing machines tho, that’s what they evolved to do, big mass of muscles, razor-sharp teeth and very rudimentary intelligence. They are not good or evil, this is not the Little Mermaid, and are only taking their part in the ecosystem.

      I was watching another documentary that went through the attacks of a few people, one of them who survived had described hearing the Great White growl as it chomped down. I think he was in a kayak. So either they can growl or it was the sound of the materials that made it seem that way, so far as this video goes that may have just been added for effect.

    • @kohlinoor

      I don't think they growl in the mammalian way. Maybe it's some sort of sonar signal?

    When I see the water on its skin. It makes me think there's low level fusion going on here. I see green light. It also may be a command for the little one to wait for the kill.
    Cool thing I can tap my fingers into air and feel that energy all the way to where I sit as a Human Fisherman. Truth be told I didn't even need the key board, I just get bored some times.
    It's not hard to communicate information when the target is the same for all parties involved. We aren't sharks, that like playing dolls.

    • @markfryer9880
      @markfryer9880 4 года назад

      Definitely. If you think about some of the sensory skills that sharks have to find prey, and if we are only concentrating on what we see the sharks doing then we have to be missing out on a lot of information. Consider the sense of smell. If one shark swims through the same water that the other shark has just swum through, then it will pick up information about the other shark like it's sex, is it stressed, is it healthy, is it a potential mate or rival or competitor for food?

    When you see close-up footage of the GW sharks nose, it looks kinda cute!
    I couldn’t say the same for the Tiger shark!
    They really give me the creeps! Them and probably Bull sharks!
    Somehow I feel that it would be a less painful death, being killed by a White! But I feel that being killed by a Tiger would be so painful, as they shake their head and use those zig-zag teeth in a side-to-side, sawing motion!!! Yikes!😰
