if you read the lyrics, somewhere in the middle of the song, they start attracting the other person as opposed to the beginning of the song wherein they were the ones being pulled in and warned. instead of this song being sang by the original and the doppelganger, my interpretation is that the doppelganger has taken over the original's place and has confused himself with his own identity that's why at the beginning he warns himself not to call D when in fact he is actually D. very much like the case in the horror movie "US"

My own interpretation of the lyrics would be that : y/n met D through social media, they talk on the phone but they never met in real. D wants to met y/n. But It's like someone (a third party ) is warning y/n that they shouldn't go, that its a trap and not worth the stimulation and that there's rumors abt D. At the same time i feel like the person warning y/n might be in love bc they're trying to put ideas in y/n head. It seems like an unrequited love bc of the lyrics "you cant help yourself". It sounds as though they accepted that whatever happens y/n will choose to meet D and will inevitably fall in love.
