I don't think they ran out of time for a grotto update but maybe as we are on the other side of the map it is still draining and if we go back to that side of the island for chapter 4 it could be fully drained and an active IO base again!

Theory: They probably weren’t planning to end chapter 2 in season 8 but the community was done with the chapter so they just started chapter 3 and didn’t carry on with their plans for the next two seasons. So they didn’t do anything with the grotto.
Good theory and I think they added the rave cave to well remind us of the grotto
yea if i’m gonna be honest, chapter 2 was the most boring chapter.

no its because they changed the duration of the seasons and the chapter lasted just under a month more than the first chapter. And thats why it ended. :)

I'm pretty sure the kangaroo was a reference to the name "Joey", which is what you call a young kangaroo and is also the name of one of the battlepass skins that season.
Actually, the fire ball was added, it was turned into Dr. Doom’s 2nd mythic, the big green ball/bomb he threw.

3:48 Its crazy how the run gun smg came to fortnite in C4 S1 but it was teased in C2 S5
Although the storm breaking builds was only in the game for a few weeks, I still get PTSD during the last circle.
4:46 I'm pretty sure the kangaroo tease thing was Epic teasing the "Joey" skin, which would be in the following season battle pass. Joey is the name of a baby kangaroo! Kinda funny how Epic made us so excited for kangaroo wildlife, but it was all just for a BP skin lol.
The smg from c2s5 came out as the primal pistol in the primal season, those primal weapons are in save the world and are part of the black metal set if I’m not mistaken. Epic waited to bring it out in the primal season instead idk why
Unfortunately, the primal pistol is the least accurate weapon in the game. If you want proof, you can easily find the video in the creative mode videos playlist on my channel.

Well, if we look at the grotto on the chapter 2 map, flip it to the chapter 3 map horizontally, covert cavern lined up exactly.

I think the leaks for the grotto was for reskinning and reprogramming the bots from it for covert cavern. Makes sense to me.

Totally unrelated, but anyone remember back then you could complete challenges in the next season even after the previous season is over? I miss that
I was especially excited when basketball mode was leaked. I personally really liked the idea and it would have just been so much fun!! But too bad they decided on scrapping this idea. Though in a way I can understand why. Fortnite isn't really a sports game after all so it's pretty understandable.

When i started watching you i felt better when i am sad
Yesterday I was playing the bot test gamemode where you can spawn the friendly bots and I had a few friends so we made a huge war. Now the bots were actually building ramps, walls, and even one by ones.

Bots build way more than usual now lol. They almost pieced me up 😂
What you said abt the ai’s only building walls or ramps I saw an ai edit it’s wall and then build a box without a roof and usually ai’s just shoot their own walls
Bots actually have some more advanced building skills nowadays, usually they throw up 3 metal walls when reloading. Still easy to jump over and get a quick kill if you're in close range. I've also seen bots building 2 walls high and even ramps

GOD i wish we got the annual pass. Imo paying a lot at the beginning of the year and never having to pay again until the next year is honestly so much better than the monthly idea. The kangaroo thing was not in fact for kangaroos, from what I've heard it was for the joey skin, joey being the name for baby kangaroos. This could be wrong but I doubt epic was actually trying to add kangaroos.
