    Bahut achha laga. Jaisa capasitor ka valur nikalna dikhaya main line me jo laga hua ha woisa hi agar aap resistance jahan jahan laga hua hai usika value niklna jadi dikhate too accha hota.

    You have used 230v for calculation which is RMS Value
    *NOTE* WE HAVE TO USE MAX VOLTAGE WHICH IS 230*√2= 325V

    Would a 100volt 3,700 or 5,000 or 10,000 Farrad capacitor be dangerous ? I need 100volt because a bicycle bottle or hub dynamo can output up to around 100 volts ac on very fast down hill descents. I plan to use it to make a full wave bridge rectifier as a smoother for my vintage bicycle dynamo lights to stop the very annoying strobing that occurs with the AC & to hopefully enable the light to glow for a few minutes when stopped at traffic lights when the current from the dynamo is no longer flowing - the capacitor discharging into the load ( a 3 watt total of front & rear led bulbs). How long could I expect the lights to glow for before going out completely with these value capacitors please?

    correct me if im wrong, the main reason for using this capacitor is to drop voltage, so why cant we use resistor instead of capacitor?
    and basic working priciple of a capacitor is to store charge so how its working here to drop voltage?

      Because Resistor heats up alot and can't make pure DC even after you put the capacitor at the output, also resistor consumes more power than capacitor.

    What you are taking as 220 V, should be 220x1.732 which is approximately 311 V for calculation.

      No, but when you remove it from AC load then too don't touch it, because the electrolytic capacitor charge exist, so u have to short that first before touching

    It's a useful video. I have few questions. (1) Why is draining capacitor charge required? (2) Can having a polar capacitor in the output reduce light flickering?
    Also, can you please also create a video on how to create a homemade (1) regulated power supply and (2) isolated power supply for LED light?

    In case of led series light/jhalar why 100 ohm resistance required and how to calculate that ? Someone said 2.2 ohm 1w is enough so I want to know that calculation also. Also, how to calculate bridge rectifier's electrolytic capacitor value( here there is not any second pf but an electrolytic capacitor) ?

    Thanks for nicely explaining. I have two forward questions. 1). If I want to light 72 odd LED's consuming all 230 v, should there be any requirement of the Capacitor ? 2) In that case what shall be the current flow ? How to control and fix this at 25 mA ?

      You don't need to drop the voltage but to limit the current you need to apply ohm's law

    Your calculations is wrong. You have avoided Max. Value ( PIC. Value) of Input AC. You have mentioned here RMS value. As a result of as per your calculation the dropper capacitor will be damaged.
