My 3yo son loves fire trucks & firemen. We would camp outside fire station to wait for a fire truck being dispatched. Thank you SCDF for always making the time to wave to my child. You never know how a simple gesture can make his day.
We seriously need more of this where we get to see the different lives of a life saving professional who works round the clock 24/7 ready to save our lives or protect us . Thank you our paramedics and firefighters for ur hard work! 致敬!( doctors, nurses , SCDF , Police officers ,military etc )
I have a huge respect for firefighters. They saved me and my older sister when we were trapped 4 floors above due to massive blaze 20 years ago. We would've gone if they didn't save us. Thanks for your service sir.
I have been in the fire service 36 years (now retired) and always knew it was what I wanted to do as a kid growing up. I followed my dream and have no regrets. This is a very video of the life of a fire station. I imagine all over the world there are some differences like the type of shifts and so forth but this video prettry much shows it all. Thank Fire & Rescue Officer. Nice job.
Can you guys do more videos about the calls and the driving would really love to see them driving to the scene also try and do a life in a job of a EMS
Amazing production. Love such example to show how our firefighters and other SCDF personnels are working hard for our nation and keeping Singaporeans' lives and properties safe. Kudos to all SCDF personnels regular and NSFs.

Nice video I am Lieutenant with New York City fire department we are a rescue unit thanks for the tour of your fire house anytime you are in New York City you’re welcome to ride with us Be well brother and be safe
Your fire fighting system is pretty similar to the german system. With 3 rotating shifts of 24 hours. And my compliments to LTA Shin Won Tae for this nice clip. Good work. HazMat 💪🏼
Very interesting. In Hamburg, Germany the professional firefighters have 2 minutes to leave the station but only 5 to reach the occurrence. The volunteers have 5 minutes to get to the station and deploy and should be on the occurrence 8 minutes after the phone call.
Given only 1 minute to leave the fire station during an emergency. That lift at 6:24 must have incredibly fast response time as well? I thought all firefighters use a slide pole to move from upper floors to the fire trucks?
@@almerindaromeira8352 And that's why you do alternating poles. You go from floor 3 to 2 on one pole, then cross the hallway to the next pole that goes from 2 to 1, etc. That even helps with throughput, since you don't ever want more than 1 person on a pole. Making them shorter means that there's less wait time.
@@adamsmasher9738 maybe fire stations should take inspiration from GOOGLE offices and install a steel slide (only slide one floor level at a time) instead of a pole. That would be quite fun for kids visiting the fire station too.
What If I told you.... In the night of new years eve, there where 6 fire calls in a row. I was on duty that night as ADO, salute all firemen and paramedics
A couple of questions: 1. What happens if you get a call in the morning while you're doing something like checking the hoses? Packing everything back up would take something like 5 minutes, maybe even more I imagine, so are you not available during such checks? How does that work? 2. You say you have to leave the station within 1 minute when a call comes in, but how are you ever supposed to make that if you're doing anything at all? The elevator ride alone takes 20 to 30 seconds I imagine, then there's getting dressed, getting everybody in the truck, and some small things, and your minute is gone. If you're on the toilet, you don't even have time to wipe. Do you really always manage to leave within a minute, or is that just one of those goals set by somebody who never actually was a firefighter? 3. What's your opinion on your station? It feels very closed off to me, and it doesn't really seem to be designed to allow quick access to the vehicles. Do you think the station could've been designed to be more efficient?
wow so this is how the life of an SCDF firefighter is. I actually went to a fire station and a fire truck before on my b-day bc my dream job is to be a firefighter
Visit Central Fire Station in my childhood including their command centre. Then as an young adult, visited Changi Fire Station. Saw fireman slided down the pole as demonstration and also other firemen dressed in Teletubbies suits.
hello, i am a big fan of SCDF and i am from Malaysia. I want to join SCDF but I'm a Malaysian. I am very sad but its okay, I still love Singapore and SCDF
Watching from California, this was so interesting. Especially a fire fighter taking the bus to the station! Do you guys have fire fighter paramedics or is it just fire fighters and paramedics?
In SG, unlike in USA where firefighters also have to attend to almost all medical, our firefighters are mostly fire train only and all medical emergencies will be handled by our trained paramedics by the ambulance. However, in each ROTA, there's a handful of firefighters that's both fire and medic trained for faster response, deployed on the fire bike. On that note, if a Fire Engine is nearby vicinity of a medical incident as compared to the ambulance, they will respond to the medical call first. Also fun fact, unlike USA where the firefighters have to do height rescue (eg. abseiling), SCDF has a special unit called DART (Disaster And Rescue Team) to do any height or dangerous rescue which it's staffs are attached to certain Fire Stations across SG.
@@wanshah5150, totally banned? Do you know the time difference between the both? i.e what if the lift is on level 3? Or break down? And not everyone is accounted for in the lift. They have to wait? Just curious 😅

In order for him to rescue me, I need to:
1) Move house closer to Alexandra area
2) Set my house on fire
He won't rescue you, it's the people below him that will save you, he will only hold mcn and thermal imager
After investigation, your house will be in prison

Just depends on the station, they are useful and cool but not always necessary
Fire poles from the 3rd or 4th floor might be a bit dangerous.

i can imagine them just in the elevator awkwardly waiting and run out when the elevator stops.
just saying, firefighters and NSG cant be seperated 😂
