Just experienced replacing both my mag release buttons due to chipping in the polymer. Great video just think that should be added to the Bad Part section.
I love how Shadow Systems treats their gun owners like investors in their company and not 1 and done retail customers. I had an issue and one of their guys literally met me on his way home to help me fix it because I'm local and he could.
This man has built a far superior product compared to his competitors and is still humble enough to admit there are possibilities of problems that can be learned upon and or fixed. I am a life long customer now and very satisfied with my purchase. Community outreach and engaging with his customers are something a lot of these big companies need to learn from.
Changing mag release on cr920 is a nightmare. I destroyed the in side of my mag well trying to pry out the spring so that I could switch over to left hand. Never had a problem on any of my Glocks (including 42 and 43) or my Shadow Systems MR918! Then once I got it switched over mag release scrapes metal off the magazines because the edge on mag release is sharp, magazine also doesn’t slide in and out as freely as when setup for right hand release!
Will be calling service today I think it's an awesome tool..BUT got an issue you haven't covered..kind of like your Ruger 1.2.3. 22 pistols which the trigger is dead once mag is removed.and won't come out if battery until the pmag is inserted.
I wish I had known Glock mags won’t work before buying. I got it for the optic cut, but could have just milled my Glock slide. I have at least a dozen mags with extensions for competition. Magpul for a Glock has only caused issues in my guns and there are no good mag extensions available.
This company ( and Trevor) are the most open crew about design and possible issues that I’ve ever seen in the firearms industry or anywhere else. Love these guns and this company!
Just seeing how open minded you are to people having issues and you being open and honest and being so transparent about your company and your goal. I am so glad I bought a MR920. Huge supporter of your company!
This is probably the best video on this subject on RUclips. Nobody has been talking about this. Thank you for breaking it down scientifically I’ve been having this issue and I don’t know where to start. It seems like nobody knows and we haven’t fixed the problem. We haven’t had any oversized releases.
Trevor out there keeping it real with the people! Love the extended mag release and my W.P.S. MR920 Elite. Best polymer pistol and customer service in the game right now. Shadow Systems for life.
I have a MR920 elite I bought used it would drop every kind of mag I put in it I bought a gen4/5 oem Glock release and it runs everything note the factory release I toke out was worn and rounded out but I can’t tell how or what was the cause but it did come with a gen 5 Glock mag so I’d say that’s what wore the original button out
I do not understand the hate for the Pmag you guys ship out I kinda like them! I also think people get small guns for concealment and they have larger hands. I could see how your hand would make contact with the button. I have larger hands so I got the XR920 to make sure I had a good grip on it and yes it makes it a little harder to conceal but if you have bigger hands your body is probably capable of hiding the longer grip.
i have the mr920 elite bought this year, with aftermarket comp. pmags still work fine but the only glock mag i own purchased approximately a month go, which has a weighted extension started falling out when it was down to the last round or two. Now it will fall out every time you shoot the gun. i shoot about once a week and probably run it through 50-100 rounds. the gun is great but this issue is annoying. Is there a company that makes weighted mag extensions for the pmags? thanks
This takes me back to my R&D days in automotive and consumer products. This video is probably very similar to how the actual internal meeting went when they were trying to find the root cause of this problem. I love that they shared this insight into the problem-solving process. If I lived in Texas, I’d be sending in a résumé right now lol
I had this exact issue, they sent me a new mag release button and solved the issue. The old mag release was chewed up bad. The gun had around 5k rounds through it.
Informative video. I have had my mag drop, but I knew it was from the slightly extended mag release. I simply replaced it with a factory Glock part and problem solved. Love to see y’all addressing potential problems and looking out for the end user.
You have to assume people are going to use factory glock mags in the gun. The button should be made to accommodate the most common mag for this gun...glock mags.
Agreed. The whole selling point of the shadow systems is that it is supposed to have the reliability and track record of Glock, but with improved ergonomics. Designing a handgun around a cheap $9 magpul pmag does not make much sense. Most people who have/are interested in this pistol already own a Glock and want to use the factory mags that they already have. Most glock users would only trust the pmags for training/range and use the factory OEM mags for self defense.
Thanks for this. I felt like a few posters create angst because of concern and/ or stirring the pot. You addressing this clears up the fact from fiction. I have two MR920s and love them. I appreciate you jumping on this.
The only reason why I have purchased a "Glock 17" magazine instead of a PMag is for State law reasons, in Colorado I have to have a 15rd Mag. Magpul does not make a 15rd PMag that fits a Glock 17. Essentially making the mag that came with my DR920 useless.
The only thing I find troubling is that Shadow systems guns are Glock style weapons and the website says directly on it that…..The guns is designed to work with existing Glock holsters, magazines, and gear. If the gun is designed to be a advanced and better Glock then I should be truly able to use those brand accessories. Personally I like the Glock mags better for carry because they don’t stick out as far when not using the magwell it’s just ascetically pleasing to me. Not to mention that Glock mags have never failed me and have a better reputation. I shouldn’t be limited to using pmags when I don’t trust them 100%
Outstanding response. This is how a company addresses issues that are brought to their attention. Just sold me on your product. Now I have to save some money.
I have never owned a Glock or any glock type platform before. After watching the technical tuesday videos of how and why Shadow Systems does the things they do like the Optic cut, I am impressed with their thought process of making a platform that is really go even better. So the other day I purchased the MR920 Elite, my first Glock type of platform firearm. Fit and finish is fantastic and no issue at all with the first 5 or 6 mags put through it.
I'm a new shooter (handguns), and the MR 920L is the first handgun I ever bought, I have shot 500 rounds and so far and have not had a single issue with the button being overextended in fact I like it exactly the way it is. The only thing I would change is to extend the "ledge" where your thumb rests. So far I shot the first 350 rounds without cleaning the gun (bought brand new) and did not have a single malfunction whatsoever, then I shot another 150 rounds without any malfunction! Keep up the great work Shadow Systems!
is the mag released hard to press or soft? because im in the same boat as u i wanna buy my first gun to and looking at this gun but just hope is a small percentage of people that having this problem
@@alexmendez713 The magazine realse is easy to push buy not so easy that you will accidentally hit it. I would recommend going to a gun store that has one in stock and just see how it feels to you. I got mine at Fin Feather Fur, when I got mine most of the smaller gun shops didn't have any instock, most haven't even heard of shadow systems.
mr920 owner... over 4k rounds through it and half a dozen different people have shot it. Not one single time did the mag fall out without me wanting it to do so
Thank you for the video. I contacted customer service about this issue a couple months ago and they quickly and efficiently helped resolve the issue. It was as simple as just using PMAG instead of OEM mags. They explained what was going on and recommend how to fix it. Thank you for addressing the issue and providing a fix for all your customers. As always, it would be great if you made a subcompact version, I would gladly put in a pre order for it. Thank you again for everything.
@Operations Manager I agree. One of the main “pros” I have with deciding whether or not to make the purchase on a DR920 was that I have a plethora of extended 19x mags. If they are potentially not going to run reliably than that’s not much of a pro any more.
I plan on purchasing a CR920 in the very near future. I am incredibly impressed with how nerded-out this company is about the fine details. I actually e-mailed Shadow Systems recently with a mag catch question and got an instant reply from Cody. My concern was whether the material of the CR920 mag catch matches the new proprietary magazine. He reassured me, the CR920 mag catch is STEEL. Rest assured people, your lives and hard earned cash are going to the right company.
The one video I saw the guy had 1500-2k rounds through his. I have two mr920’s and a mr920L. 2700 rounds through the mr920L 3500 though my combat and 1200 though my mr920 elite. Haven’t had one mag drop on it’s own… Thanks for the video, a lot of the problems you are having are due to the increase in social media, and the fact you have a 60k+ guns out there. ( just based on my serial numbers) The serial number difference between my first and last is over 20k…. You are going to have people that don’t know proper technique. You are going to have people that think they know what they are doing, and don’t. You are always going to have people bashing a product or company any time they get a chance. Keep doing it. Keep making a quality product. Keep informing the customer base that is loyal. You’re killing the market right now. Thanks again for a quality product at a great price.
Personal I feel that my Shadow Systems DR920 Combat is my favorite and best handgun I own. As soon as it was put in my hand I was in love and I have never had anywhere close to a problem. With that said, if I did have an issue in the future I would like to know that Shadow Systems would rectify that issue in a timely fashion with good communication. This makes me feel comfortable to continue to invest in this product.
I have never had my mr920 drop a mag accidentally. This pistol has had zero malfunctions. My friend and I also have Sig p320 pistols and have had multiple accounts of the magazine being released while carrying from multiple holsters.
I've only used pmags and never had this problem with 500 through her. Sounds like people taking their guns apart when they shouldn't or using old worn out mags. And you guys will cover it if we want you to. Thats great. Thanks for the info.
It happens to brand new ones and to handguns once they reach 2500 rounds. 500 rounds is nothing. I wouldn’t be so quick to place the blame on others just to justify your purchase in your head
My problem was that when I would get out of my patrol car, 2012 Charger with very limited room, something would hit my mag button and my mag would fall out. I think the real culprit was my Blackhawk holster. I called Shadow Systems and they sent me a new button and spring, problem solved. These guys are the best. A couple of times I carried my Staccato P. This pistol was worse about ejecting magazines when I would get out.
*I have a question* would the OEM Glock mags with the silver notch (SF cut) wear down the magazine release? I will email if you have no time to reply. It did not give me any problems, but I do not want to wear down the mag. Release over time
Amazing company I heard about this yesterday and I see this video post today. This is very rare in this day and age. I have zero issues with about 3k rounds on my MR920.
Why not make the mag catch more compatible with Glock OEM magazines? Customers want to use the proven Glock mags and not magpul mags. An expensive handgun relying on cheap magpul mags does not make any sense. You include magpul mags with the handgun because they are 50% less expensive than Glock OEM and you would probably have a lawsuit if you included factory Glock mags.
The VAST majority of people have zero issues with Magpul Glock mags. A company that has a history of solid AR mags wouldn't shit on their own reputation by producing inferior mags. We aren't talking ETS mags, we are talking about Magpul
You gave 2 reasons as to why they wouldn’t sell with OEM Glock mags and both of them were very logical but it’s still a problem for you? They dump money into design and added options over a Glock so shouldn’t save where it makes sense? They should risk their business with lawsuit? I see you hating on multiple comments and going crazy here. Maybe chill tf out. I hope I never come across you in the real world. You seem unstable.
@@MrMann-gt1eh I care more about reliability/durability on the consumer end than price. I’d rather not have the firearm cheap out on their magazine and mag release design
Both mine and my wife’s mr920s mag buttons failed when I bought them last year. I got both replaced by Shadow Systems with the standard glock button and was promised they’d get replaced once they “fix the mold problems”. I still can’t get a replacement for either gun after all these months after reaching out several times. I’ve given up at this point.
Hey! Thanks for the comment, I’m sorry you did not have a good experience. I am surprised we were not responsive to your requests. I would love to have a chance to address this. If you are interested, please email support@shadowsystemscorp.com and reference this conversation. Thanks, Trevor
I can say personally I do feel a noticeable difference in the lockup feel between magpul mags and glock mags. The magpul mags do feel like they lock up (via the feel and audible click) better, but I'm still running the glock mags for now.
I went to a tyrant cnc mag release so I already went to metal. I think metal releases are fine but maybe making it an aftermarket option would be neat so the people that don't want the cons of a metal mag release don't have to worry about them. Its videos like this that pushed me to get a MR920 because of the transparency.
I am having this problem, it's happened 3 times. Randomly at the range. So I just ordered the smaller mag catch button. Hoping that fixes it.🙏 cause I love the platform.
Appreciate all the videos.. New to weapon carry and the MR920 is my first handgun and i’m accurate as hell with it for a newbie. It’s a great gun. Everyone who holds it says who made this gun, I want one..
Anyone have issues with new SS firearms slide sticking when trying to tap/rack or eject/load a round with a round in the chamber? No issues with slide operation with no mag. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Awesome video. Your products Rock. I tried 4 different manufacturers and ETS have trouble going in and trouble getting out. I think they are too beefy.
I am impressed with their customer service and I haven't even bought one yet ! They are very customer forward . You literally become a part of their System
I’m amazed at all the reasons that aren’t your fault. At between 300 - 400 reds mine started dropping once in a while. It got progressively worse until it happened every shot with every mag - fairly new Glock mags and the p mags. I called and you sent me another button. Local gunsmith installed and solved the problem. Until once again at 300-400 rds the mags started dropping again. I love the way it shoots when it shoots, but not as a single shot.
Jeffrey, I'm sorry that this terrible experience has happened to you. I'd appreciate it if you give us the opportunity to make it right. Your experience is not the norm. I am not sure what the root cause is, but obviously, we need to get the gun back instead of sending you a part. Perhaps you could contact customer service once more? Again, we are so sorry you are disappointed. That is certainly not our goal. Trevor
Glad this was addressed. Think that the problem is slightly more serious than you make it seem. I had legit issues and have it all on video for the nay sayers to watch. People that say their shit is fine without actually putting it through its paces are bots. If this problem would've come up in a gun fight and not on the range, I might not be here to tell the story. Further testing and updates to come on my model in the future.
Definitely props for them coming out with this video but I agree with you with the seriousness. There are only 3.7k people in the shadow systems owners fb page and there have been at least 20 people that have had mag drop issues and with only 600 views on my YT video there are about 5 that have commented with the same issue.
@@G35Pearl that’s .5-.8% I’m not talking shit at all. I’m a perfectionist and pretty ocd. I don’t like the thought of all this at all. I need reliability 1000%. I sold all my guns years ago (for real) and am just getting back into them and this is my only gun rn. I kinda need it. Just bought it a few days ago and haven’t even fired it yet. Thinking about cashing in this chip before any problems arise. I wish I’d heard of all this before I bought it.
My MR920 has the same problem. I’ve shot my whole life and know it’s not my shooting doing it. It’s not my shooting. I’ve let other people try the gun and same thing happened to them.
Good Morning! I read your comments and it does sound like you are having genuine issues. Like I said in the video, we’d love to send you a replacement button at no charge in case yours has worn out prematurely or has some other issues. If you are not comfortable installing one, we can also do a return at no charge. I would personally examine your gun. Let us know. Trevor
Trevor I know the issue behind it it’s the different size back panels that come with the gun and different people size hands if I use the tallest attachment my finger will hit the mag release with non support hand but when I use the middle size one I don it have any problems hitting it . Have a good day and take care y’all!
Hey! Sorry for the slow reply. It is absolutely fine to use a Glock magazine in the gun. My comment about Glock magazines was simply that we see far more "worn out" Glock mags than PMAGS because the Glock magazine is so much softer. But we are talking about years and years of constant use before they get to that point. Any quality Glock-compatible magazines should run in the gun. Trevor
I am one of the ones that had a bad button on my War Poet. I actually lost a mag on a 4wheeler it was so bad. My local gun shop sent it back for me and Shadow Systems took care of everything. Wish they would have Sent me a Mag to replace the lost one.
I purchased a Shadow Systems gun during the great ammo shortage so it was hardly shot for the first year of ownership . I put around 800rds through it over the last 30 days. I was running my brand new factory glock magazine's. The magazine's fell out 3x during training. Is there a fix for this issue?
OK am I crazy or would it make more sense to actually make the same mag release button that comes on a GEN 4 Glock because that thing will run just about any mag I have ran 33 round Glock mags I even ran my buddies 50 round drum with no issues in my Glock 19 I can’t say anything about the MR 920 elite that I just bought because I only ran 200 rounds through it with standard mags The reason I bought this gun was pretty much because it’s a do all pistol or at least it’s advertised that way and now I’m a little worried that I spent $1500 on a set up that might not run everything as well as my Glock 19 does
Ok, update time. Mags were falling out around the 300 rnd mark. contacted Shadow system. A new button was promptly sent and received...thank you 👍 Now I'm at 1000 rnds and having issues again. I run a mix of new pmags, some old and some new glock mags. I have a dr920 and two of the pmags are 21 rounders. I'm being told to replace the mag. Catch spring. Spring is fully seated in its pocket. I love this platform, so I'm going to keep working this out. No disrespect, but I'm going to run a stock glock spring to see how that does. Will update after 500rnds either way. No safe queens around here lol.
Well update time again. After multiple combinations, the one that worked was the sh . system. Replacement button with the stock glock catch spring. 100 rounds with no issues. I shot personal best times with the dr920 and never would have parted with it (spoiler alert) but it was in my head that the issue could recur. I spend more money on training and ammo than I do guns, so I couldn't justify keeping it. Had to fund a replacement. I don't collect. My pistols are users. I have nothing bad to say about shadow systems as a company and hope they work this out.
I defingiely would want a mag release designed for OEM Glock mags that have a much more proven heritage than Glock-PMAGs. I’ll switch my mag-release since ammo is too pricey to discover and issue and have to shoot another 1000rds to test the new part. Thanks for pointing out your part is designed for PMAG-hardness versus OEM Glock mags and extended mags with more weight.
@@jedcoupland8587 Yeah I just ordered 2x OEM Gen4/5 mag releases. Actually very cheap. Gonna have my gunsmith do the install and call it done. The mag release was my only gripe but at least they were open about the issue, however mild. I get they wanted to make everything in house, but for the love of god they should’ve made the material work best with Glock mags since most ppl that will buy this come from a Glock platform.
I came across this video today because it just happened to me at the range. I recently cleaned my mags so I wonder if that had anything to do with it? I’m gonna have to go back out to make sure it’s not user error.
I have never shot any of my three SSC pistols with it's OEM magazine release button. I run the Vickers extended mag release button on the two MRs and a Glockstore tear drop extended mag release on the DR. I've never experienced the issue described here in these guns or Glock models. For me it's just familiarity. I've run those Vickers since they were introduced. The Glockstore one was new to me and I've been super happy with it.
If you shoot your gun alot, you will run into this problem. It only happens at high round count. I just bought my second shadow pistol today Dr920 war poet and I just replaced the mag release with a glock one. No problems, the gun is awesome but if you want to run glock mags then buy a glock mag catch. The shadow catch is harder plastic and chewed up my glock mag. Problem solved now. If you only run pmags then no need to change the catch. Pmags are harder plastic than glocks as well.
My non pmags fell out if my dr920 today..during one handed shooting. Pmags r fine. Why would I want another of the same button? Only 300 rounds thru this gun. Anyone replaced there's out there if so, with what?
I prefer glock mags becuz I have so many already, I do use pmags at the range but not for defensive carry because I've seen them fail. I havnt had this issue of mags falling out, but I only have 500 rounds through my 920. Fingers crossed.
Training is key, you HAVE to train (test) your gear. If your PMAGS haven’t failed once at the range then logic would tell me yours aren’t in danger. If I was you, I’d run EXACTLY what you train (tested) with. To me, that’s like take a race car on a badass qualifying run and then running a different car during the actual race. I’m in no way trying to be disrespectful. The opposite in fact. I want you to live, succeed and thrive.
Maybe make a mag release that is the same polymer as the glock oem mag release that people can buy if they want to run the glock oem mags. I own your mr920, and absolutely love it. Haven’t had any issues yet but I personally haven’t had good luck with magpul glock mags and don’t trust them. So hopefully i just never have a problem.
I love mine, but you could always incorporate a small ledge from the trigger guard which would keep you from depressing the mag release (see Walther PDP). Also PMAGS are like $12 each and mags shouldn't be used for years anyway so a metal release button would be awesome. I replace my mags every 2 to 3K rounds to ensure reliability anyway.
Send them a redesigned nag release. Not the same ole thing that has a problem. Fix it. People are trying to protect their families. 62 is 62 too many. SORRY NO SHADOW SYSTEMS FOR ME ! MY FRAME STARTED SEPARATING FROM THE SLIDE AT END OF BARREL. LOOKS TERRIBLE. SOLD IT. ! STOCK IS WHERE ITS AT
Trying to find a holster iwb for my mr920l left hand what glock holster fits this the comptac mtac holster looks good but for a 17 or 19 to fit the mr920l with optic.
I have had 4 Shadow Systems. Started with the MR918. I now have thr MR920 and the MR920 War Poet. They run like a top. I don’t use the PMAGS, but I will be inspecting my other mags to make sure I am not testing them up. Thank you for these videos Trevor. They are very informative.
What bull Go to this guys video He is waring a Glock shirt and you can see he is hitting the button with his grip. I hate when someone knocks a great product because of their brand loyalty. I have seven Glocks and I love them. You buy a Shadow System because it's a big upgrade, It's a better gun. Glocks are not a BAD guns because the 920 is higher quality. Glocks are the best 500 gun you can buy. Then you can spend 1500 making it a really good gun or you can buy a Shadow system and get a gun you make 0 upgrades to. You can buy a KIA and it will drive you anywhere you want to go or you can buy a corvette. I have Thousands of rounds though all my guns and Glocks have feed failures .001% of the time. I have had exactly 0 failures with my 920. I COULD CARRY ANY GUN I WANT AND I CARRY A SHADOW SYSTEM 920. Yes I have my own range, two of them and yes I really shoot a lot. This guys info on dropping mags is BULL. The guys at Shadow systems won't say it because they are too nice, but I will It's bull! By the way had a bad safety plunger on one of my Glock 19's it started chipping on the edges, I did not go post it everywhere and it took 2 moths to get a new one from Glock. Call or text Shadow Systems and you will hear back from them today. Try that with GLOCK. My son is a cop and carries a GLOCK I bought for him. I trust Glocks, that's not what this is about! they are great guns. I carrier a 920 because it's a better gun.
@@chrislawrence7 Because they watch his channel and support him. If you read them they say they are going to back to their glock. I just think some people are glock glock. MY SON who is a police officer is one of them. Like I said I have 7 glocks and had issues with two of them. My comp gun is a glock 17. I NOT A GLOCK HATER. Just think this guy is a glock only guy. This is the only video of his I have watched so maybe i should watch more. Just the shadow systems is the BEST gun I gave ever shot with 0 issues. I do not use glock mags in it and maybe that's the difference

That’s an opinion. Id argue that Glock Is superior.
My glock mags were falling out of my mr920 and had a plus 5 agency arms extension.

Trevor out there keeping it real with the people! Love the extended mag release and my W.P.S. MR920 Elite. Best polymer pistol and customer service in the game right now. Shadow Systems for life.
I have a MR920 elite I bought used it would drop every kind of mag I put in it I bought a gen4/5 oem Glock release and it runs everything note the factory release I toke out was worn and rounded out but I can’t tell how or what was the cause but it did come with a gen 5 Glock mag so I’d say that’s what wore the original button out
I have a newer production cr920 and my mag release is hard as hell to push in.
Why cant all companies be like Shadow Systems? Im so glad I just got a MR920 and plan to buy more.
All 6Glock mags I’ve ever used will not hold, only pmags and it drops afew 27 round pmags
i have the mr920 elite bought this year, with aftermarket comp. pmags still work fine but the only glock mag i own purchased approximately a month go, which has a weighted extension started falling out when it was down to the last round or two. Now it will fall out every time you shoot the gun. i shoot about once a week and probably run it through 50-100 rounds. the gun is great but this issue is annoying. Is there a company that makes weighted mag extensions for the pmags? thanks
Never had the mag fall out while shooting, but almost 300 rounds in and the mag will still drop out when I rack the slide.
The question I have is , can I use new factory oem magazines... ??
This takes me back to my R&D days in automotive and consumer products. This video is probably very similar to how the actual internal meeting went when they were trying to find the root cause of this problem. What about people using metal magazines or mag catches?
I had this exact issue, they sent me a new mag release button and solved the issue. The old mag release was chewed up bad. The gun had around 5k rounds through it.
As a left handed shooter, who is about to become a Shadow owner, I’d love a how to on mag release swap.
Me too!!! Please help Shadow Systems!!! Please put out a video on the correct way to reverse the magazine release. Thank you.
Why would you make a glock that doesn't work with glock mags?
Informative video. I have had my mag drop, but I knew it was from the slightly extended mag release. I simply replaced it with a factory Glock part and problem solved. Love to see y’all addressing potential problems and looking out for the end user.
Hey why can't we find any of your sprongs particularly???
I love the mag release on my MR920 war poet. Please don't change it. I don't have any issues with it
You have to assume people are going to use factory glock mags in the gun. The button should be made to accommodate the most common mag for this gun...glock mags.
TT. Completely agree with you. Just common sense
@@waterhead1359 precisely
@@Sam1628 Put a OEM Glock magazine release in, problem solved. It's legos, not rocket science.
Is it just me... Or does this guy seem like he's just patronizing us ? Sorta like he's talking to a bunch of kindergarteners...
Question. With the metal magazines, will the mag release wear out
The only thing I find troubling is that Shadow systems guns are Glock style weapons and the website says directly on it that…..The guns is designed to work with existing Glock holsters, magazines, and gear. I shouldn’t be limited to using pmags when I don’t trust them 100%
Recently purchased a CR920 and I can't for the life of me get the mag release spring/rod out to reverse it for left handed. What's the trick?
Outstanding response. This is how a company addresses issues that are brought to their attention. Just sold me on your product. Now I have to save some money.
I have never owned a Glock or any glock type platform before. After watching the technical tuesday videos of how and why Shadow Systems does the things they do like the Optic cut, I am impressed with their thought process of making a platform that is really go even better. So the other day I purchased the MR920 Elite, my first Glock type of platform firearm. Fit and finish is fantastic and no issue at all with the first 5 or 6 mags put through it.
How do you get the clip out if the button doesn't work?
I wish shadow would get rid of the pmag. They are not fighting mags half of mine dont lock back. Puta glock mag in it and it locks back.
Have a friend who owns a gun and pawn shop. Took the mr920 in there today. They are Glock guys.. they didn't want to hand me the mr920 back. 😁
mr920 owner... over 4k rounds through it and half a dozen different people have shot it.
Mine started falling out after 400 rounds
I'm having issues with the XR920 Elite, slide not locking back with last round with both glock mags and pmags
The one video I saw the guy had 1500-2k rounds through his.
I have two mr920’s and a mr920L. 2700 rounds through the mr920L 3500 though my combat and 1200 though my mr920 elite.
Haven’t had one mag drop on it’s own…
Thanks for the video, a lot of the problems you are having are due to the increase in social media, and the fact you have a 60k+ guns out there.
I have been having hell with my MR920 Mag release/catch. Hopefully I can figure it out and it does not keep on happening.
I've only used pmags and never had this problem with 500 through her. Sounds like people taking their guns apart when they shouldn't or using old worn out mags. And you guys will cover it if we want you to. Thats great. Thanks for the info.
Happened to mine brand new out of the box so don’t assume...
My mr920 drops the mag after round.
Probably gonna sell it cause why do have to fix it after spending $1000
@@djrathbone788 plenty of reported reliability problems with them
You gave 2 reasons as to why they wouldn’t sell with OEM Glock mags and both of them were very logical but it’s still a problem for you?

@@MrMann-gt1eh yes. They helped me out right way this time
I can say personally I do feel a noticeable difference in the lockup feel between magpul mags and glock mags. The magpul mags do feel like they lock up (via the feel and audible click) better, but I'm still running the glock mags for now.
I'd say if you do a steel button it's optional. Most glock based magazines are polymer and it'll wear em out quick
Thanks for the info 👍
I went to a tyrant cnc mag release so I already went to metal. I think metal releases are fine but maybe making it an aftermarket option would be neat so the people that don't want the cons of a metal mag release don't have to worry about them. Its videos like this that pushed me to get a MR920 because of the transparency.
Metal with plastic mags ? Meh
Ur mags won’t thank u
@@khyoon14 I don't shoot enough for it to matter to the point I can't just replace the mags.
I have a gen 5 g19 mag that falls out. None of the Pmags do.
So the solution is to replace the mags and mag catch with Glock parts, got it.
Great choice for a first handgun. After shooting it you won't buy a factory Glock.
I have always thought #2 was the biggest culprit. My 920 functions perfectly.
@@G35Pearl yeah to say the least

My MR920 has the same problem. I’ve shot my whole life and know it’s not my shooting doing it. It’s not my shooting. I’ve let other people try the gun and same thing happened to them.
Good Morning! I read your comments and it does sound like you are having genuine issues. Like I said in the video, we’d love to send you a replacement button at no charge in case yours has worn out prematurely or has some other issues. If you are not comfortable installing one, we can also do a return at no charge. I would personally examine your gun. Let us know. Trevor
I had this issue with my MR920L and Shadow Systems sent me spring and mag. 75rds with no dropping of mags. Let's hope it stays this way.
Trevor I know the issue behind it it’s the different size back panels that come with the gun and different people size hands if I use the tallest attachment my finger will hit the mag release with non support hand but when I use the middle size one I don it have any problems hitting it . Have a good day and take care y’all!
I have a war poet, DR920 elite and MR 920L. None have had an issue. And the mags lock in tight
I bought a Ghost Inc Tac Mag Release and the magazines lock up much better. With the factory SS mag release, pmags and Glock mags wobbled like crazy.
Should we not use Glock mags?
Will the MR920 take a Glock mag release?
I purchased a Shadow Systems gun during the great ammo shortage so it was hardly shot for the first year of ownership . I put around 800rds through it over the last 30 days. I was running my brand new factory glock magazine's. The magazine's fell out 3x during training. Is there a fix for this issue?
Yes there are fixes, like switching to Glock mag release. But it really is not acceptable for an expensive handgun
So, your company doesn’t like Shield Arms extended base pads?
OK am I crazy or would it make more sense to actually make the same mag release button that comes on a GEN 4 Glock because that thing will run just about any mag I have ran 33 round Glock mags I even ran my buddies 50 round drum with no issues in my Glock 19 I can’t say anything about the MR 920 elite that I just bought because I only ran 200 rounds through it with standard mags The reason I bought this gun was pretty much because it’s a do all pistol or at least it’s advertised that way and now I’m a little worried that I spent $1500 on a set up that might not run everything as well as my Glock 19 does
You and me both feel scammed
I have a 15 +5 Glock mags never had a problem until I did 20+1 and it shot the mag out. So idk on the but won’t do 20+1 anymore.
Trevor keep up the good work People don't want to hear that every Part on their gun is expendable
Ok, update time. Mags were falling out around the 300 rnd mark. contacted Shadow system.
A new button was promptly sent and received...thank you 👍
Now I'm at 1000 rnds and having issues again.
Do you know what Gen mag release works with these? Or have they developed a new mag release made of a softer polymer?
@@DD-sw1dd GEN 4 and 5 would work. They're the bigger ones (compared to gen1-3).
@@jedcoupland8587
Yeah I just ordered 2x OEM Gen4/5 mag releases.
Love my Warpoet no issues during break-in of 300 rounds. Just wish I could shoot more but ammo prices and shortages
There's no shortages. Just an excuse to raise prices on us
I have never shot any of my three SSC pistols with it's OEM magazine release button.
Will a G17mag fit into a MR920 frame? I kno I can get the full size one but I like the feel of the MR920!
I love my MR920 Elite!
