Congrats to Mike on the new find. Awesome that he's going to be able to use the other chassis with this body. Definitely look forward to see the two coming together!!
Nice find ....definitely looking forward to seeing this come together 👌 Like they say, they're still out there, just a bit tougher to come by nowadays 😎
Reminds me of when I went to pick mine up. My buddy had parked it in a field behind what use to be a body shop and they used the bed as a dumpster for the wrecked parts and his cab as a trash can. It took me over 2 hours cleaning it out just so I could drive it home. I spent that week cleaning every inch of it and getting rid of nests under the hood from it sitting for 4 years. And now it's almost better than when it was brand new in 81 . I paid $1,000 for it and in the next month or so when the restoration is done I'll have a little over $8,500 in it on top of what I paid for it but it's worth it because it's a brand new old school Chevy truck. Replaced the bed, tailgate, both doors, hood and passenger fender as well as all the chrome molding, trim, etc.
This afternoon I had an accident while working on my Impala. Ended up breaking my left hand so I'm on the shelf for a while and my truck will have to wait until I have the use of both my hands. Sucks too because I was in a zone and getting a lot done to my truck. Have a good evening.
You guys in the South are so lucky because up here where they salt the roads in the winter that patina would quickly equal rust hole weight reduction. I'm in the process of rebuilding the body on my '83 Silverado, the only things that will be original on the body when I'm done will be the cab (with rocker and cab corner repairs), the cowling, and the hood. Everything else will be new except for the bedsides I'm taking from an '85 I bought for parts. Square bodies never held up well here in the North, mine came from Tennessee and it didn't take any time at all for it to rust through. Looks like you've got a good looking base to work from there. I'll be looking to see where it goes.
I'm guessing a 86.. and my 86 Chevy k20 custom deluxe was midnight blue and frost gloss white down the center of the sides of the truck, had plenty of patina but alot of rust.... fenders, doors, rockers, cab corners, bed lol

Dude's you guys scored on the square body chevy, I wish my 75 was like that with the paint. I would just clear it.

@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Cool. Mike's knowledge and workmanship is phenomenal. He may be a man of few words, but his wit is hilarious.
