Thanks for this gift Dave, it reminds me of the time I spent working in the area and spending many hours in Deerleap. And still there’s more to learn. All the best
Can you better a beautiful winters day in the New Forest. Thank you for another really good video always learn something new and they take to places I have missed. Merry Chrsitmas and thank you for all tthe really interesting and entertaining videos look forward tio seeing more in 2022.
Lovely day for a winter walk, Dave. The colours and sky were quite spectacular at times. You’ll have to work on your railway knowledge as that second train was a Cross Country service and as such doesn’t stop at Ashurst. Sorry to tell you that, but it’s not often I can get one over on you.😉 Myself and Mary wish you and your family and great Christmas and a wonderful New Year and may Logan have some goodies from Santa. 🤶😉
You really had a glorious day, the colours are so rich. Glad to see that the New Forest is so well managed and that you were able to find evidence of the lodge. It still amazes me that features, like your earthwork, have survived for so many centuries. You timed that train just perfectly! A very interesting video, Dave, you certainly did your research. Thanks.
A very happy Christmas Dave and logan. And the rest of the family. Even though I walk the New Forest every weekend, I really enjoy your videos as they educate me. I then tell my husband as we walk snippets of what you've said. Looking forward to more in 2022. ☺🎅👍
Merry Christmas Dave to you and yours. I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos this year. Here's wishing you a very Happy New year and I'm looking forward to seeing your new adventures in 2022.
Happy New Year Dave and Logan. Loved this video (and your matching hats) I'm local to Ashurst and have walked this route many times, but will now look out for the boundary stone, ironworks etc. and I'd always wondered about that 'pond' as I've never been able to find mention of it on any maps or historic documents...more exploring to be done 😊
Thanks for this video with the suitably festive ending! I visited Lymington for a few days recently and it has fired my imagination for possible future trips to the New Forest. I walked from Beaulieu back to Lymington along the Solent Way but the bus journey crossed more wilder country that looked great for exploring. Maybe next year.... Super interesting about all the landscape features too. I really enjoy watching your walks and videos.
Hello Dave, Love watching your videos, I was born in Ringwood and know the forest quite well from my younger year's so it brings a lot of memories for me. Could you please tell what camera you use, I would like to get something similar Terry

Two railway cottages used to be situated by that sandpit, demolished in the early 70s

Hi Terry. I am currently using a Gopro Hero 10 with a Rode Wireless Go Microphone. For "still" shots, I use a Canon Powershot SX530HS.
@@DaveFord Thanks im not sure whether that one or the DJI pocket 2, but thanks for letting me know yours. Terry
