Imagine doing even more grueling training until finally you are ready for the Mortal Kombat tournament, everything in your life has led to this moment. Now imagine as the introductions are going on, your master suddenly seems to be afflicted with something, and his amulet starts to crack and he talks about seeing visions of a dark future where everyone dies and he only has a vague "He must win" to guide him to try to prevent it. He still encourages you to do your best, reasonably assuming that you, the guy who has been trained to win this, to stop the evil sorcerer and the Emperor of Outworld from taking over the world, are the one who must prevent the end of the world but after you win he seems more distressed, apparently nothing changed from you winning. Now imagine after winning, being honored for your victory and celebrating, you watch tons of your friends get captured and slaughtered by Tarkatans and now you must take part in another tournament right away, as if your victory meant nothing, it apparently DIDN'T mean nothing according to your master. Now imagine your master is now starting to be skeptical of if you even are the person who is suppose to win, which wouldn't make much sense because you trained your whole life TO win against Shao-Kahn and already have. Now imagine watching the man you saw as your brother get murdered by the man you were destined to oppose, you beat him, and STILL are told that this meant nothing, the future is apparently still bad. Now imagine your whole world is being invaded, you winning the tournament didn't save the world, you beating Shao-Kahn to near death didn't save the world, your master, who you trust above all else keeps saying nothing has changed and just seems confused on what to do. The situation gets so bleak that you go with your master to plead with the Elder Gods to assist them. Raiden said they'd aid them since Shao-Kahn was breaking the rules of Mortal Kombat so you leave with him while the others fend for themselves, and yet you then watch as the Elder Gods decline assistance because Shao-Kahn apparently isn't breaking the rules. Now imagine, after all of this, your master seeming extremely confused, now doubting you over some vague visions that he randomly saw, you lost pretty much everything and now even the highest deities are failing you, and when you get back, almost all your allies are dead and you get to watch the woman you fell in love with die in your arms, knowing you could have saved her if you were here but you went with Raiden to beg the Elder Gods for help, help which they didn't give. You lost everything, and now Raiden, your master, the one who has been guiding you to your supposed destiny, only to then doubt it, is suggesting they ally with the Netherrealm, a realm where demons, oni and the souls of sinners reside, to try and stop Shao-Kahn. The protector of Earthrealm is quite literally suggesting they ally with the realm of the damned to stop Shao-Kahn, after all his confusion and mistakes, he must really be mad. He goes off on his fools errand while you tend to the two survivors that are left, pretty much having nothing left now besides stopping the monster who is destroying your world and is responsible for taking everything from you. Eventually you find Shao-Kahn, slowly entering your world, you get ready to fight him, you beat him once and you can beat him again only now Raiden is telling you no. Not only does he not want you to fight the man who killed your brother and the love of your life, he is EVEN suggesting to let him get what he wants, because only then will the Elder Gods apparently intervene. He keeps talking about vague visions, starts to doubt you, starts to make crucial mistakes, seems extremely confused about how to progress, lets all your friends get murdered while he futility begs the Elder Gods for help, then seeks help from an evil realm before finally showing up to tell you to let Shao-Kahn win. Enough is enough, Raiden must be stopped, he has gone mad. He isn't making sense any more, he can't seem to figure out what is best for Earthrealm despite being its designated protector and his actions have directly or indirectly gotten people killed and now he is proposing something that goes directly against his goals and against the very thing you dedicated your life towards. You fight valiantly but he is too much, he is still a God but you don't give up, putting all your strength into one final attack and then...he kills you. Not on purpose, despite his apparent madness you know he would never do that but again, another foolish mistake has led to another death, your own. His madness took your destiny, your friends, your brother, your lover and finally your life. The last moments you have left is spent looking up at the man who doomed you all while the man who took it all away is slowly attempting to destroy your world. That is the last thing you see before being revived in the Netherrealm by Quan-Chi, being reunited with all your fallen allies and even the woman you love. You are told that you are going to be a part of Shinnok's army, he will use you to destroy Earthrealm, Raiden and the Elder Gods. You have been revived, reunited with the people you love and are being told you will now be attacking the very deities who failed you in life, and despite it being at the cost of your home, it only feels right when you gave your whole life in service of them, only for them to abandon you and get you killed in apparent madness. You were denied being the Elder God's champion, so it is only fitting that you become an instrument to their demise.
@@Vonir-Slater lol I understand man, but seriously he has history behind the warrior, there is literally no point in making a remaster one that only tell you what you already should know

Kung Lao needs to be next! I know his story is deeply entwined with Liu Kang's so we got much of it here but a highlight of how he stepped out of Liu Kang's shadow and was the protagonist of Deadly Alliance and more speculation on the Shao Lin Monks versions of the pair would be great!
John Gillan he’s the new protector of earth realm raiden sacraficed his powers of an elder god to save the time line and Liu Kang from dying again since all those time Liu Kang have died from raiden was all Kronika’s doing
I've never really played Mortal Kombat. Maybe once or twice, but nothing that I can remember. But for some reason, lately I've started to get interested in the story/lore of the series. I have no idea what started it, but I greatly appreciate your videos for helping me understand this series.
Why remaster them now, if you do them after mk11 comes out you can include there participation in that game also and in the meantime just tell people to watch the old ones🤷🏻♂️
I hope they eventually explore Liu Kang potential relationship with Onaga, that Cetrion mentions during one of their intros in MK11. Maybe the Dragon King fell in love with an earthrealm woman or Onaga created him as a sort of failsafe in case of being betrayed.
It would be interesting to see the history of Jax next as it seemed that his older self was wearing an attire similar of Kronikas in the old vs new school trailer.
While I didn't care for how they handled Liu Kang in MK9 and MKX, my opinion softened on it after playing through MK11. They used the reboot to do some interesting things with his character, taking him from a decoy protagonist and anti hero in 9, to a villain in X, to finally making him the hero again in 11.
He became my favorite when i found out about this game from a friend, it was Armageddon the second one i ever played after i played the one from Gameboy years ago, but never noticed the shirtless guy was liu kang, i used him and kano without knowing their names XD.
I remember how much I hated him back when 3 and 4 came out because I was sick of him being the winner over and over. I was happy when they killed him off, and his undead form was fun for the little time it was around.
I’d actually love if they released a cgi movie or cutscene of “official” history of Liu Kang so I can see how he beats his opponents to see how great Liu Kang really is because if you think about it he’s just a normal guy who’s really fast and has fireballs but he’s up against people who can teleport, freeze, turn into smoke so I’ve always wondered how he goes about beating them.

Damn
OK boomer
"Lord Farquaad" and Quan-Chi the deadly alliance.
Watched all ur vids n forgot I wasn’t subbed well here you go
You know? Why not remaster the character's lore after the game is out? That way you know what truly happen in MK11
Cause this is to get you up to date before mk11.
@@angelito.3457 yea but you can watch his old video for that,he clearly milking it not hating or nothing just calling it for what it is
@@therealdmsmith9911 i cant agree or disagree
@@Vonir-Slater lol I understand man, but seriously he has history behind the warrior, there is literally no point in making a remaster one that only tell you what you already should know
I really hope we get zombie Liu Kang as a skin in the full game
cloudywolf 4 same id rock that skin every time I use Liu kang
Off topic but I was curious if you have ever been interested in doing more history behind the warrior videos on other series like Samurai Showdown or maybe BlazBlue
Kang would always be King 🔥🔥🔥
Kung Lao needs to be next! I know his story is deeply entwined with Liu Kang's so we got much of it here but a highlight of how he stepped out of Liu Kang's shadow and was the protagonist of Deadly Alliance and more speculation on the Shao Lin Monks versions of the pair would be great!
Would love to see him become a hero again instead of this villain bs :(
That’s why the young liu kang is brought back :)
@@mortalkombatfan508 And they changed his voice. I don't know what to say about that :[
Don’t worry fam, with Liu kang from the past they might chance history... for the better or the worst.
I have no idea what started it, but I greatly appreciate your videos for helping me understand this series.
you should do history of cassie cage mk11 (remastered)
damn dude your hammering these out like champ
Best history video yet. The longer the better❤️❤️
Lui Kang has had one hell of a life, cant wait to see what role he plays in MK11!
Well, this aged greatly
What a life he’s got
@@FreshPrincex4 It did! 😂🔥
@@thebigquack6945 For real! I would of never thought Lui Kang would be the one creating a different Universe and make his own twist of everything! 🔥
Liu Kang is gonna be my main in Mortal Kombat 11 hands down 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
dwayne frierson he looks so broke
Question..will you use the young Liu kang or the rev Liu kang
@@jermaineboyd6594 both!!!!!! But younger Liu Kang more that's the original MK Liu Kang
Jermaine Boyd I used the Revenant Liu Kang skin in MKX soo
@@SaucyCheeseburgerwithRanch cool..I just saw this video the evolution of Liu Kang..ruclips.net/video/dbCxWjvuETw/видео.html
MK 11 Liu is so badass
If you ask me, if Liu Kang successfully reunited with his body, Armageddon wouldn't have turned out like it did.
Literally anything: exists
Raiden: Time to get corrupted
Love your videos HBTW from what they said sounds like he gonna be restored
😲 Ohhhh! I guess have to prepare some snacks 🍪🍕🍬🍿, so I can enjoy a Liu Kang video.
Glad to see the thumbnails are no longer 240p
Fantastic editing
I can't wait to play as him.
nice video i can't wait for it to come out
I had to read this twice to get what you mean
That scene of the Revenants pushing Raiden around is hilarious. X'D
My guy, broke my heart everytime I had to see him die but the man always comes back swinging.
Whoa whoa whoa. Mk9 Kitana bhad asf
Why remaster them now, if you do them after mk11 comes out you can include there participation in that game also and in the meantime just tell people to watch the old ones🤷🏻♂️
Views boiii
11:35 The way he said 'Goro?' like he didn't believe it lol
*Revenaut Liu Kang* : I would have defeated Shao Kahn, but Raiden wanted for glory, his Lightning cut me down!
Chan Kang. A forgotten MK plot and character.
You should update everyone when MK11 drops
Zombie Liu Lang is my favorite for some strange reason, maybe the design because he has the scary look and the sickles
I still understand why liu kang is still a revenant. Jax got freed from being a revenant,so why is liu kang still a one. That shit weird.
I hope they eventually explore Liu Kang potential relationship with Onaga, that Cetrion mentions during one of their intros in MK11. Maybe the Dragon King fell in love with an earthrealm woman or Onaga created him as a sort of failsafe in case of being betrayed.
*Revenaut Liu Kang* : "I would've defeated Shao Kahn, but Raiden wanted for glory, his Lightning cut me down!"
Lou Lang looks so cool in mk11
It would be interesting to see the history of Jax next as it seemed that his older self was wearing an attire similar of Kronikas in the old vs new school trailer.
Cetrion better be the hero
Nope she is evil
Original Liu Kang timeline feels bad man...perfect example of doing everything right but still getting screwed over.
Liu kang reveal was just 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
*WHATAAAAAH!*
man this is gonna be good cause it seems this is where we might have a final clash between raiden and liu kang
This video deserves ZERO dislikes
He became my favorite when i found out about this game from a friend, it was Armageddon the second one i ever played after i played the one from Gameboy years ago, but never noticed the shirtless guy was liu kang, i used him and kano without knowing their names XD.
What is the name of the intro song?
Are you gonna make an apisode about Erron Black?
He almost has no backstory at all.
@@mortalkombatfan508 I know, but maybe he could talk about the future of him. What he predicts
"The reveal of Liu Kang in MK11"
As if he wouldn't be! Ack, I'm so excited
WE NEEEEEEED KITANAAAAA
Yo whats your intro song
I Saw This On April 3 And Its Still Said 3 Days Ago So I Thought This Was An April Fools Video
Why is there no Raiden backstory??
I remember how much I hated him back when 3 and 4 came out because I was sick of him being the winner over and over. I was happy when they killed him off, and his undead form was fun for the little time it was around.
I was hoping Tom Choi was going to reprise his role. Guess not.
Adnan Jusufovic he sounds British in mk11.
It’s weird
iMMORTAL 445 really, to me personally it sounds like more of a Chinese accent. I think it’s personally more accurate now.
one of my favorite character in mortal komat 😏
I’d actually love if they released a cgi movie or cutscene of “official” history of Liu Kang so I can see how he beats his opponents to see how great Liu Kang really is because if you think about it he’s just a normal guy who’s really fast and has fireballs but he’s up against people who can teleport, freeze, turn into smoke so I’ve always wondered how he goes about beating them.
What’s ur intro song ? Ps I love ur channel
have you ever thought to do a dissection of the movies? just to see how true to the source material they are.
Best MK character
Agreed
