I was born in Vlaardigen, the Netherlands, and experienced Xmas as a kid with all the winter temps. Making snowmen, and having serious high calorie foods. Eating the same foods in summer just doesn't go down well!
Two Sundays, a month apart, both frosty mornings, and clear blue sky! It makes it really difficult to see the Bird when it's flying high. Just a bit of High cloud helps me to see the model much easier.
The reason the composites are nick named "crunchies" is they are prone to catastrophic damage, and then the degree of difficulty to get them flying again. I've been lucky just the fuse has cracked, and that the wings are fine. Using gel CA glue lets me smear the glue through the CF 12K TOW gently, and adjust if required. After just a few pieces are in place the fuse is rigid enough to really get it locked in. After a gentle sand with some fine wet & dry paper I can then spiral the CF TOW completely around the fuse to tie it all together. It's worked so far for Russell, The Mini Vec, and now the kitty cat. But, it does sound like I'm a bit rough on my models I guess?
It certainly did David. I didn't quite align the rudder to the rest of the fuse, but I only needed a small trim adjust to fix that. I haven't seen any vids from you this year. I hope you are still able to get out and about?
@@jo2lovid afraid not ...due to the cancer treatments , i only have the energy to switch on my pc and watch others fly ,hope that when i finish treatment i can get back to it ..but its not looking good !!!
I wear a mask when handling the CF TOW. But I do get some CF stuck to my fingers while applying the glue to the strips. I peel that off my fingers as the CA starts lifting due to perspriation. What research I've done states that CF does NOT have the levels of toxicity that Asbestos has. Hopefully I'm all good the way I'm handling it.
Funny you talking of Winter when we're in the middle of Summer, great video Jo 👍
Now get your mind around celebrating the Xmas season during a hot summer day!
@@jo2lovid That's just so wrong 😁

Sorry to see the Tomcat Evo suffered a carbon-based calamity, Jo... but clearly, there's no holding you back 😊👍 Nice redemption flight!
