No, so In the Greek Production he removes it at that specific time because 1. That is when they all realize that it is The Phantom NOT Piangi. 2. As you see when he removes it it acts as a stun maneuver. 3. That was not the sound he was supposed to make. It was supposed to be a deep growl, but Ben's voice cracked/messed up and went high and falsetto accidently. 4. In the Greek Production which is the most modern and technically true new and frankly remastered original, once he removes the mask his face is extremely more disfigured and much more realistic, blood, tissue showing, veins, holes, burns, etc etc etc 5, He no longer has the headpiece with the hair and everything, The mask is placed directly on his face so realistically the facial matter would stick to and form around it when healing. when he takes it off it is more like he is ripping off parts of his face. tissue, skin, 6, Originally they were going to have blood. tissue, skin sticking to and hanging off the mask and his face when he takes it off, but that was later changed do to being to gory, gruesome, disturbing to some audience members 7. Christine was supposed to put her hands up to his face as well but that idea was still a work in progress and not really implemented yet. ^______^

My only complaint is Ben’s movement, it just feels kind of weird. That and I despise the mask. That thing is weird looking, justified, but weird looking.
I personally don't like this production. First off, I don't like that they switched the mask's placement. It doesn't look right (no pun intended), the phantom's lair looks like a small crevice hole with little to no room for movement, and the journey down to the lair, RUINED. I 100% rather see the "new production" over this.

It has a drastically bigger budget, newer equipment, and overall very positive reviews. I know because Amy Manford is my cousin You may not like it but however this is going to eventually the new version because better budget, better makeup, better lighting, better sound, etc etc

I really like Ben but I felt his movements were actually too dramatic. It did seem weird.
All the costumes are pretty awful. Phantom on a budget I guess lol. Though that doesn't explain the awkward blocking.
