Coming from an engineering background this is exactly the sort of information I wanted to know before getting into the sport. Great explainations and very engaging! Thank you
Great series. Had in the past High, changed to Moving low and after two years just now I am mowing to goose necks. It takes me 5 years to experience this what I was able learn in few minutes in this series!
High Hang Points, a conversation I've had more than once while flying: "Oh man it's bumpy out" - Pilot 1, Gooseneck Bars, EN-B wing "Yeah, it's pretty bad" - Pilot 2, Gooseneck Bars, EN-B wing "Huh? Feels pretty smooth to me, I barely feel something it's like a 1-2 on the bump scale [laugh out loud]" - Me, High Hang Points w/ Fixed J-bars, EN-B wing
yeah thanks for the effort you put in the series for novice pilots to choose the right paramotor. one thing about "reach glider controls" i mean, just lengthen or shorten the brakelines to ones preferable position no?
+PFANDFRAI just lengthening the brake lines is dangerous as if too long, the toggles may get through the netting into the propeller. That would tangle up the brake line and drop you off the sky. Most paramotor gliders have more pulley positions to adjust brake length safely. This helps for sure. But with trimmers up the toggles are hard to reach anyway...
yeah usually different pulley/hangpoint positions are covered by the glider manufacturers. yes they need to be in limits to still be in reach when all open trimmers vs. not too long for prop/cage clearance. i think high hangpoint are dying out slowly anyway, gooseneck/swanneck are the standard and hybrid will be the future (if the paramotor is designed to get rid of the torque without needing to offset hangpoints), thats a very smart design idea you had there! ;)
+Jared Tami Cross country paramotor flying in the mountains is no different... A general recommendation would be the gooseneck bars. You cannot go wrong with that.
Really enjoying these videos. After watching Tucker Gott's channel I'm hooked on the idea of flying a paramotor! I have convinced the Mrs now just got to the raise the funds. Would the carbon be a good beginner craft or should I use a cheaper option for learning then move to the trusty scout machine?
+Darren P thanks mate. The characteristics of the scout are beneficial to all pilots, advanced or beginners and I believe it could shorten your learning curve. If you get proper training, you will have only one crash, probably 6 to 12 months later. Shortcuts due to increased self esteem... Yes, it's called the intermediate syndrome :-) then you will return back to basics you have learned from your instructor. The Scout Enduro is what I would recommend for beginners.
@@evanwindom3265 If you choose your paramotor smartly you will never outgrow it. You may have a need to upgrade and/or downsize your glider as your skills improve, but not the paramotor. The Enduro is the same paramotor as the SCOUT One Carbon, just the hoop is aluminium instead of carbon. It feels the same in the air and on the ground. I like the full carbon version better but some actually find the Enduro more attractive. Miroslav
+1cflchopper you are not lying to your wife for sure! The most dangerous factor in paramotoring is your ego. But this will not be covered in this series... :-)
Push them Hybrid bars baby :) Every Paramotor cage company will be buying your design!. : Scoooore" Can I be your real friend Mr soon to be rich guy :) haha
Hi Miroslav, I have a PAP and I feel turbulence a lot, What can I do (modify) to convert it to a Meddium or High suspension system? Changing the plain arms to the rounded arms like in Scout or Parajet would help? Thanks for your help. Regards,
That would not work at all. On PAP the front shackle, carabiner and the hinge are in one line. On gooseneck bar the front shackle is low, the carabiner and back hinge are at one level but higher than front shackle. It's just completely different geometry. Take a photo of your paramotor from the side, try to draw the gooseneck bar over it and you will see that it will just not fit
As a mechanical designer I noticed something that could potentially be beneficial for the Hybrid Scout System Bar that you designed with the Triangle Strap, High Pivot Point with the low swoop for attachment of the Triangle Strap. Because this could possible be a financially beneficial / patentable design (which I am more than happy to share with you), If you contact me I will gladly share.
@@SCOUTaviation good morning (is evening here in Texas) Miroslav. I sent an email to you earlier today. I modeled up a quick mockup of the solution I was thinking about. I can take some screenshots when I am back at my computer tomorrow (evening for you). Talk to you soon. Eric.
I think I'ma just buy a wing and practice on the ground a lot. Closest trainer is 2 hours away, and I'm not the strongest healthiest of people; Ever since my car wreck. No way am I spending 2k, just to drop out at day2. Only because I need a day of recovery, when I could spend that on a permanent wing. I have Atrophy on the right side of my body due to nerve dmg from the wreck.

Superb series, thank you. No doubt these will become a RUclips classic for anyone into paramotoring.

I have yet to see a more comprehensive approach in any other paramotor . Thanks Miroslav
If you said, "Woody, would you rather have the next episode in this series or Game of Thrones" I'd have a hard time choosing. :)
+WoodysGamertag lol
They are both good Woody! How about both!?
Im a sad git, GOT bores me so next episode in this series is a no brainer :D
Tons of knowledge! thanks for your work! Hello from Brazil!
wonderful lectures, bundle of thanks

+PFANDFRAI yes you are right.
Can the goose neck bars and the hybrid bars be swapped easily?
+Daniel Tompkins 15 minutes. No special tools
Which suspension setup would you recommend for mountain flying?

What is a clutch for a paramotor? Why would I want one or not?

was that tucker gott at the end
Sure he was" ;)
Conclusion: high-suspension systems really are crap. :-D
