- Hello Darlings!! This is my final video for the year as I'm going to take a much needed break and spend time with family, but I shall see you in the new year!! I hope you enjoy the video, I had so much fun making the Christmas stocking and answering your questions (I'm sorry I didn't get through them all!) I agree! Australia was effected badly during the 30s (along with the rest of the world) with severe unemployment rates; higher then ever before, a lot of people were relying on charity to survive.

I know you're going to school to become a Nurse n I know you will exceed in that profession because you are smart, caring, sweet love the old days. Just think of all the older people you will be helping n getting them to tell you things about actually living n being young in those glorious old days of the 30's, 40'sn 50's. Those were the best times for me when I worked in Nursing Homes n Assisted Living Homes, getting to spend time chatting with the elderly n listening to some of the precious stories of their youth n where they lives, how they lived, what they rode or drove, how they dressed, etc .. I loved hearing everything so much. I JUST PRAY YOU WON'T STOP DOING THIS CHANNEL, EVER. PLEASE DONT FORGET YOUR ADORING FANS N FRIENDS. WE LOVE YOU !!!

My stocking looked like that and I was born in the seventies. It was red felt with a green and white suited Santa Claus and gold stars. And my brother had one with Santa and his sleigh with gold stars. And the top of them had cuffs that look like melting snow. Merry Christmas to you and James. 💜
Congrats on 150k! I wanted to mention that Jack Russell terriers were bred to kill vermin and have a very high prey drive. So they are probably not the best choice to have around chickens. I would definitely do some research on the breed before getting one. Anyway, I hope you and James have a wonderful Christmas!

My just-turned 13yr old daughter brought me to your channel and both she and I love your videos. You inspired her to start caring for her skin. Her eyes lit up when I brought home Nivea and Olay for her after your video showing products still available today. I knew these products because they were the ones I used when I was young because they were the only things my mother knew (she was a teen in the 50's so we had Ponds cold cream and Oil of Ulay in my house my whole life😁) She puts curlers in her hair every night now and loves the style.

I've never been into modern kitchens myself either. Growing up, my elderly family members always had the older style kitchens from the 60s/70s. I found a video here on youtube from a historical channel that showed a plan for a 1940s farm kitchen that I thought was so amazing. If I ever get a chance to design my own kitchen, I want to use something similar. Love your channel Sage!

I made these exact stockings growing up in the mid 80s. We hand beaded and sewed on the felt. Love them and still have a few. Loved seeing this!🤗

Memories of the 50’s are still in my mind and you’ve refreshed those memories of my mom and her sewing patchwork quilts on a frame my dad made for her that took up the whole den during the Christmas season…yes the older kids all got quilts….mom used to call them “grandma heaters.” Love Ya! 💞 for making memories for us older folks, 75 and still loving the 50’s and 60’s Santa

Yes, I found out that some Thrift Stores are Private Owned, those are usually the more expensive places so I don't shop in those places. The Salvation Army is about the least expensive second hand stores (Thrift Stores) around here. Their money goes to help the needy, which is wonderful.

My Grandmother made stockings for all her children and grandchildren out of felt that look exactly like the “Alice” stocking example you showed. I loved my stocking so much! Each of us had different felt items on our stocking to make it more personalized. I thought it was an 80s/90s thing but apparently it was something that my Grandmother must have carried over from her earlier years. Thank you for bringing back lovely memories from my childhood

I love your videos! I own chickens and I would just recommend that you research the behavior of the breed of dog before you get one. Some dogs have a chase drive that can be difficult to train out. It’s not impossible to raise certain breeds around chickens, but it can be more difficult. Good luck in the next year and keep making your amazing videos 💜

I wanted to say a big “thank you” for your content and inspiration. It’s really helped me get through some exhausting times and keep my ‘head above water’. I also have been dressing in vintage-inspired fashion recently and you have been a huge inspiration for me. I have been getting SO many compliments on my 1930s incorporated style with my cloche hat, long winter coat, and blouses and skirts. People actually take the time to stop me and tell me how much they love my outfit. I’ve loved the 1930s /40s/ 50s since I was a little girl and it really is a confidence boost to dress in what you love!

What a cute stocking! I made little felt/fabric birds ornaments, blanket stitched around them and with some poinsettia paper decorations hot glued on. They turned out so cute 🥰

I love vintage style...any kind really but here in my hometown in Italy I have quite a few problems: first of all we don't have thrift stores at all in Italy...sure, we have second-hand or antiques stores and some vintage boutiques in bigger cities (Milan and Rome for example) but they are all quite pricey; the second problem is my size...apparently people in my family are tall and have broad shoulders, but the majority of the people in my country were small, so it's hard to find something that I can actually put on and it explains why my grandmothers, who were seamstresses, actually saw their own clothes.
As for hair, I cannot do much with mine..they are quite thick and heavy so it's very dfficult to pin them since after a couple of hours the weight will drag everything down: I love Victorian hairstyles and I have long hair but I have no idea how to replicate those styles and neither have the many hairdressers I consulted....so I usually either pin only some strands with bobby pins to have them out of my face, put them in a traditional french braid or wear them in an half updo with a bow.
