Thank you so much. All four of my grandparents were from Czechoslovakia and Poland. My mom and dad (who passed away years ago) would often slip into their language and sometimes taught us a little. My older sister remembers this song - couldn't recall it all, but now thanks to you we have it!

I sang this as a child in elementary school for Christmas Around the World. My Dad drank heavily trying to teach me the words. This makes my Xmas that I can practice it after all these years🌲🙏🌲🙏❤
Oh my gosh Ewelina this brought tears to my eyes!! We learned this in Catholic grade school and my mom played an album of a Polish Christmas carols that were so dear to me. I was so happy when I saw this lesson! ❤️

I have wanted to learn Polish for the last 50 years, but my family only spoke Polish when they didn't want the children to understand what they were saying. As a result, they refused to teach us. So many memories with this song - my Mom had a Polish Christmas album and my Babcia loved to sing. I only chimed in on the "cude, cude." I am now practicing so that I can surprise my Mom when I go over tomorrow for pierogi making 🙂

Love your video's Ewelina. Surprised my 80 year old Aunt when i sang this for her last Christmas Please do a video xplaing why some parts of senteces in english translate to only one word in Polish. Example: "Nas Oswobodzi" being 2 words said in English is actually 5 words. " He will set you free", as a simple example.
