    Hi Joanathan
    Delhi is not a safe city to travel alone
    ‘Safe’ is a very relative term when it comes to women and traveling. Any city is as good or as
    bad as the city you compare it to. It all depends on the time, area, circumstances and the people around you. For instance, Bronx and Brooklyn might be considered unsafe for tourists and people unfamiliar with New York, and so can be Westminster in London.
    Delhi is a very tourist friendly place, but the reputation that the city has earned due to increased crimes against women cannot be ignored at the same time. If you plan your trip well, stay at decent places and be a little careful about your modes of conveyance, you should have no problems while enjoying the city and the culture, history & heritage and culinary delights it has to offer.
    Another major plus is if you have trustworthy acquaintances or friends in the city who can guide you or take you around.

      I’ve been to Delhi several times on my own and have had no issues, because I know how to travel in India and take care of my safety. If something happens, it could happen anywhere in the world. This video isn’t about women’s safety though...

    This visit to the town did seem scary. As you being pregnant and Covid pandemic!
    America and India are among top in Covid cases and so many people are dying but here people are refusing to wear masks in name of their rights of freedom and in India it seems people don’t care! They are not just hurting themselves but others and it affects economy.
    Please stay safe guys and have a safe travels back to Jaipur. Lots of ❤️😘🤗

    • @JohannaNorth
      @JohannaNorth  4 года назад

      Of course I would’ve rather not gone to Delhi at all, but unfortunately we had business to take care of and it couldn’t have been avoided 😔 but I was comforted by the fact that following the safety rules strictly should be enough and we of course do that every time we go out anyways 🙏 just really hope we all would, so that the situation would improve quicker! In Europe they’re already talking about a 3rd wave at the start of 2021, right after the holidays, because people aren’t taking care of the safety measures! Only 60% are wearing masks 😕
      It’s been almost two weeks since our 24hr visit now and we seem to be fine 😊❤️

    • @JohannaNorth
      @JohannaNorth  4 года назад +3

      I hope you didn’t think I was critisising the crowds being there. It’s perfectly understandable that these people need to go out every day to work and make their living, they don’t have a chance to stay at home and do remote work. People like me who are privileged and almost never have to leave home also sometimes just have to go out to run essential errands like we had to on our Delhi trip. For those who don’t get to stay at home it doesn’t make much difference if they die of covid or hunger. So we must all take care of following the safety rules!

    • @JohannaNorth
      @JohannaNorth  4 года назад +2

      Like I said in the vlog, I hope another lockdown can be avoided because for example people at the Nehru Place Market don’t have the privilege to stay at home, but need to work to have their daily meals and all. But this also requires all us people following the safety measures at public places, which unfortunately wasn’t what I saw last week. I very much hope none of these shops are forced out of business. 🙏 and I don’t care if people social distance at home, I don’t and find it completely irrational to try to. But it is possible at public venues even in India 😊

    • @JohannaNorth

      Completely safe imo. But maybe it's about cultural difference too. Here in India pregnant women are expected to rest a lot, sometimes even bed rest for months! In Finland we're told to maintain our physical fitness. I was, and still am, pretty fit. So I don't see anything unusual about walking or climbing at this pace.
      In fact, my in laws get pretty concerned when they see me work out and I have to explain it to them that it's ok :)

    Why you are going out at such crowded places? There is already so much risk due to Corona.
    In these corona times;
    "Prevention is better than cure"
    So please stay at home, we'll be watching your videos then also and with more satisfaction if you are making it from your home.
    It's a humble request Ma'am🙏🙏

      If it’s somehow unclear from the vlog, we had essential business to take care of in Delhi. The visit could not have been avoided.

      @@JohannaNorth I think it was some passport work (if I am not wrong), I totally agreed with that but please don't go in these crowded markets.
      We are now facing the outburst of Corona after Diwali here in Jaipur.
      Please do avoid as much as you can and I think you both of them are much more responsible, mature,informative and careful than us🙂

      @@prakhargoyal1799 i would also consider fixing my laptop i need for work, getting mandatory documents and my passport photos printed to be essential work. I’ve been inside our house 99% of the time since March. I follow the safety rules strictly when I do go out. 1% of outings to take care of necessary things does not make me in any way careless. Or do you honestly think most people even just on my channel have been staying indoors more than this?

      @@JohannaNorth Not at all. I know your viewers are not even remaining indoors all time.
      My point is only to;
      - remain cautious
      - avoid crowded places
      - stay strong and positive with your Finnish quality of 'Sisu'
      Forgive me, if I made any mistakes or hurt your feelings in the above comments.🙏🙏
