The Universe fought me on this one. First, once in the editing room, I realize I recorded this whole tutorial andI forgot to flip the switch on the audio. Okay, take 2. Record the whole thing again. Once in the editing room, I see there is a sunbeam across my face during the whole take at the piano. I couldn't believe it. Take 3, a farm truck appears in the neighbours yard and starts to bleed into my sound!! By the 4th take I completely forgot to say "Don't forget to give some love to our volunteer Martin Waugh and give him some love with a thumbs up!" Wow, Paul. Your dedication to and generosity for sharing your musical insights makes me regret not driving last summer to visit you! Next year around the same time, let’s set a date!
Thanks Paul - I must admit to being very apprehensive when I saw your review come up. Some very lucid and helpful comments though and you have inspired me to have another go with some of your ideas in mind.
I appreciate you Martin and you're a good player! I am here to elevate players. I felt I could add a few creative ideas to your playing. Other than that, you keep going! You are the star of this video and I hope people support you by subscribing to your channel. Remember the best way to judge your playing is by remembering where you started and where you are at now. You have tons to be proud of. You are an inspiration to self taught learners all over the world. They'll see this and say "well if Martin can do it, so can I".
🙂I'm grateful folks are submitting their videos for reviews. Players like Martin (today's volunteer) are the treasures willing to put themselves out there to learn and help others learn. They are learn-it-alls willing to deeply commit to learning jazz. I'm simply the mentor of the day.
Hey Mikael, I don't have this one. I did check on Musescore, and I think you may be able to find something that works here musescore.com/sheetmusic?text=believe%20in%20spring
After Paul's kind advice I've had another try at this one and also tried to make it look better. Long journey! ruclips.net/video/WzybhztwSuE/видео.html
@@Jazzmentl indeed- it stems from an observation in an earlier post about trying to hear what each note movement in a chord can sound like. Still a long way from being intuitive though but am enjoying the journey.
I'm going to assume that you have some piano training and that you know how to play some piano. So if you have, let's say at least level 10 conservatory or some classical training, then you could be ready to start my beginner classes. It's absolutely free. All you have to do is register at this link and you can get started jazzmentl.com/the-ultimate-beginners-guide-to-jazz-piano/

Really great application of ideas. Now that you've put the ideas into practice, let us know how you feel about it. Is it making sense to you?
