These types of videos are so interesting and fun to me. I love listening to songs as well, but they’re mostly modern R&B, EDM, and pop. I’m curious to see what other songs students listen from different universities or probably high schools as well.
I appreciate you actually editing in snippets of the song that they are listening to! Makes the video much more enjoyable compared to ones done by others.
It's such an array of genres and artists and what I like most is when how the appearances are doesn't always dictate what kind of stuff the people are listening to. Glad to see that it isn't predictable and NIhonjin lads are happy with the typically cutesy numbers...
true, I once made an upbeat playlist for a lady friend of mine, only to discover that she preferred gentle music. I've since learnt not to gauge someone's musical preferences based on appearance or personality....she was always fun, happy and upbeat, i misjudged.

i love the fact that jesse genuinely strikes up a conversation with people, other than just asking them what they're listening to ❤️❤️ it shows interest and ability to socialize.
Sheena Ringo hell yeah!, one of my favorite artists. Crazy talented, beautiful, and what a hell of stage presence she has Still missing some modern rock/metal tho: Band-Maid, SCANDAL, Nemophila, Lovebites... the best rock bands in the world are Japanese and nobody in Japan actually listen to them? *sad*
With all the female rock/metal bands coming out of Japan and they're still a rarity. It's no surprise that with all the bands you mentioned the comments from their videos are mostly in English.
This is actually such a good way to find new songs haha. I love finding new songs to listen too since I find myself repeating the same ones most of the days.
4:56 it's so rare to see Japanese young adults/youth listening to Showa era pop music, Natsuno Owarino Harmony is an absolute classic! PS: Can any Japanese explain why younger Japanese people don't really go back to Showa pop music like what we do in the west with 60s-90s songs?
Until the 80s or so, Westerners didn't listen to old music much either, and even then it was mostly just classic ROCK, not pop or anything else. Regularly listening to music from decades earlier is a pretty recent phenomenon.
I dont expect to encounter someone who listening to symphony no 9 when they're walking hahaha. That guy is extraordinary! Wah anyway sheena ringo has a good unique voice, you all should try to listen to sadistic
@@Newtypenewtype agree! But dont you think the most shocking facts of all this series (what song you listen) in this channel is they rarely listen to popular musician like kenshi yonezu or official higedan? I mean those 2 are really huge in japan now
I liked this video because of the music choices they told you, I looked up most of the Japanese songs I hadn't heard of, they sound good! Make more of these haha.
Ayoo earlyyy!! I love these series! I never clicked so fast on my life! Music is universal and I love how we can express our feelings and connect by having sharing music we love!

I really appreciate the effort you put into making this kind of videos, they are really entertaining and interesting to watch, I wish that this channel will continue to grow as the time goes by.
I'm still waiting for someone to be jamming out to some metal or hard rock! But maybe I missed it or just don't remember from the previous videos? Like if someone were rocking out to Band Maid or Bridear, or even Slipknot or Bring Me The Horizon on the international spectrum, that would be awesome! Love these videos and keep up the good work!
Definitely vibing with the guy who was in class listening to his lecture 😅 but also didn’t know universities in Japan were male dominant, was surprised you couldn’t find one women there.
As for Univercity of Tokyo, apparently yes. from wiki>"in 2019, enrollment figures from the University of Tokyo reveal that 5,267 of 24,674 (21.3%) domestic students are female. " but please do not generalize it to apply to Japan...Actually College going rate by gender in Japan is 50% vs 50%.
@@mari5london thank you for this information and sorry for making that assumption. I’m so used to seeing universities/colleges being close to, but always, 50/50 in regards to gender.
Universities in Japan are not male dominated. Tokyo university is best university in Japan they have entrance exam in Japan for going to university men just perform better there. I guess they don't have affirmative action /quota there.
This is a really nice video but if i may suggest something to improve it, it may be nicer to have follow up questions after asking what songs they are listening to (like what you did to some) as this will provide more context why they listen to that song and know more about them so viewers can connect with the video more :D
The only problem is people have a lot to do instead of answering those questions that you suggested so it will be way harder to find people that would do the interview
