haha, y for me too, i was rememories somes games i played, the only thinks i remmeber about dis game was, a spaceship map with a strange distubate music hahaha, and i found it.
This was the first game (Along with Mario Kart) that I got for the N64. Only years later did I finally finish it, but the ending really killed it for me. I thought that they were intending to make a sequel, or that I got the bad ending, because I couldn't believe how unaccomplished I felt after beating it. It was a major disappointment. Oh, and I don't think you knew, but holding down the B button after shooting lets you control the shot, and the Virtua Circus doesn't need to be shot in Tensuns.
@ZenicReverie You can get the sharks to eat the legs. Bouncing on the Virtua Circus soldiers on the water gets the sharks to eat them, and you sorta lead the sharks to the "legs" of the ship, and they eat those. This saves loads of shots. It was opposite for me, I thought that the sharks were the only way to get the circus to launch. Oh, and my theory on how to get the "second ending" is by trying to not get scanned. It hasn't been tested, so it may work.
Finally found this game at age 32 after not knowing what the game was called, I never got past the island at the beginning and all i remembered was it was on some sort of beach and i was stuck lol
I remember replaying the game so many times, thinking I got the wrong ending. Didn't have internet back then and no one I knew even heard of this game. Yet I feel this is one of the best games on the N64, minus the camera :)
@ZenicReverie I just tried out my theory, and in order to do so, I used Debug Mode. (Pause, when on "continue" press C-Up then C-Down, go down once, press C-Up then C-Down, go down again, press C-Right then A. Debug mode gets activated.) So I fought Wolfgang a few times, and I made sure I didn't even touch the red platforms. After loads of tries, I got to the end of the fight. I didn't even see a scanner... and he somehow got a copy of me. Well, there goes theory.
They probably had a sequel in mind, and were setting up for one, but it's such a shame that this game wasn't pulled off very well. I actually never finished this game, as I got stuck on Earth. I haven't played it since I was about 11 though. Ten years later, it looks terrible, but I really enjoyed it at the time.
Early 3D games were pretty brutal, not many were very good, especially for N64, its a shame since you had good ideas, but not well implemented. Banjo kazooie, mario 64, rayman 2, bomberman, chameleon twist, Glover, had a few decent ones.
It's a bit odd... I remember playing this game as a kid, it was pretty fun even though I didn't fully understand everything (it was in English and English not my native language) and I didn't beat it because at some point, I just didn't know where to continue but anyway, I never really found it creepy or unsettling. Now however, as I see this video... It does kind of give me an uncanny vibe, it's hard to say. But then again, when I was a kid, I also at one point came across Shadow Man for the N64 and boy oh boy, was that a messed up game for a kid to play. I enjoyed playing it though, but at times, it legit scared me
A very strange game... I finished it several times when I was a kid and it always left me a little disturbed. I will play it again now in 2023 to understand why it gave that uncomfortable feeling.
I felt the same. I remember there being a lot of sketchy content that should NOT be in an E game that my parents definitely should not find out about. And I was like 8. Oh my, still interesting times. Such a sadistic game o_O
I never played this version except for a PC demo, but i remember that my very first cellphone (black and white screen) actually came with some sort of spinoff of this game on it. It was a horizontal shooter, like R Type or something, but you controlled some sort of missile wiith Starshot's face on it if i remember correctly. It was damn good for a pre-java game.
@@alisaschrock1742 I think it was Alcatel but I don't think that was the model. I also think it came with a second Starshot game based on one of the other characters now that I think about it.
I played it on PC. Twas and still is my most favourite game of all time. It was extremely hard, but I managed to finish it. First game I ever finished. I was 10. :D
Too bad there was no second part ever made....never knew if any fans of the game would make a fan made second part or not would be great if someone did
In some parts it is a good game, but THIS ENDING!!! When I played this game to the end I think: NO , That could not be!!! >.< but it has made fun to play this game (:
Can you do the PC version cause i will love to see how the graphics looked the voice and music. i cannot find no video on it so i was hoping you can do it
I could never get past level 2 there some kind of stdium where you had to go but you couldnt use the rocket to get in there, it was at the weapon convention part I really hated the game for not having any hints where to or what to go
remember playing this game on windows 2000 when I was kid and how the game freeze every couple second during opening of the game sad times melody sick still today
Such a trippy ending, and game. I thought maybe it was a bad ending, but it seems it's the only one. I guess they were setting up for a sequel that never came.
The horrible camera ruined this otherwise fun game. The whole idea of a Space Circus and the main villain making virtual copies are very unique and clever. The graphics were nice and colorful, the characters were funny, every location was unique and introduced something new, the humor was great, there are a ton of funny movie and cartoon references. The PC version even has full voice acting. You can argue that the level design could have been better, but in the end it all comes down to the uncontrollable camera. After it got poor reviews the publisher completely ignored it and let it die.
The game isn't bad, but N64 port certainly is. Such a shame that it was much more popular than the superior PC version, which had better controls, animations, music, framerate, graphics, voice acting... well, just everything :)
Yeah it was a bad port - but ya no the devs had a lot to contend with - the n64 dev kits were bodge jobs and according to Rare/F5 you could only access 50% of the systems capability unless you wrote completely new microcode yourself - which of course you required programmers with the skills and lots of time.
I love the humor, story, characters, settings, and dialogue, but this is a CLUNKY-ASS game. The controls and camera are HORRIBLE even for N64 standards. Barely playable.
I could barely understand what was happening, and the ending especially made me feel like the game didn't end properly. They were probably setting up for a sequel that never materialized, but this just ends up being a hollow victory.
Just played it a bit myself, but it felt like crap, totally not like what I remembered. Went online, and saw that where I stopped playing was just the 2nd world....Man, this game was much "bigger" in my head, and the gameplay and camera is terrible. Welp, rose-tinted glasses and all.
I bought this game when I was little only cuz the guy who was selling them told me it was cool. I played it for a day and I hated it, I returned it for a different game. Something just didn't seem right.

It definitely has a foreign feeling to it, speaking as someone from the US.
