Someone in the background was yelling out loud saying that whenever people come up from Santiago to swim in any of the nearby beaches, there always seems to be a tragedy of some sort. I guess he must be right. My father is coincidentally from Santiago, and he died on that exact same beach about 10 years ago. Perhaps it's high time to place lifeguards all over Sosua beach for the safety of any visitor, native or foreign. However, what that implies is a cost or fee to enter the beach, which might be good for some, not so good for others.

i have seen a few people drown at playa alicia. Sosua beach the same. There should be a lifeguard especially for the black American guys. Its real life fear factor and they always lost at the water challenges.
See a cardiologist when you hit 35 y.o. He/ she can tell you if you are at risk for cardiac problems. He will get you on medications that will lower your risk. Even if you survive your first “heart attack” you may suffer permanent heart damage which will cost you $$$ to repair
