My dad and mom tresured all the scribblings I and my sister did in a particular part of our wall. He always lets us scribble there when we were kids. Precious days❤
When we were kids we used to draw and write on our walls all the time. My parents never scold us nor did they try to erase our artworks. Now our murals are all preserved and they bring back such good memories
We just accepted that ours would probably write on walls and tried to get water based markers. We've since cleaned off most of her toddler "decorations" with isopropyl alcohol, but I never really minded it. Now we usually just have dozens of taped up drawings/crafts of hers because she loves decorating. We've got a kid, and aren't trying to hide it, I think for our particular house it gives it some personality since we don't decorate much otherwise 😊 grateful that we aren't renting, it'd be a much different story in that case lmao.
We're renting and as long as we put a fresh coat of paint on before we leave, we can do whatever we want to the walls while we pay to live here (within reason of course, actual destruction isn't allowed), our walls are covered in my toddler's 'artwork' 😄 I used to get upset about it, but now I join in and we're creating lovely memories together, I can always paint over it if I ever wanted it gone (there's far too much to do the WD40 trick now 😂)
I remember my sister did this the night before our housewarming party. 😭 she did it all down the stairs. House was brand new good thing that they left paint in the garage for us to paint the unfinished garage, but we used it for that
I remembered my neighbor was babysitting all these kids in the suburb. One boy was 2 years old that took a crayon and scribbled on the wall. I even saw what he had done. I was 9 or 10 years old at that time. She was a neighbor with my family. She has 2 kids, too.
Dryerase over top the sharpie. Works for me everytime. Even on my flat paint wall. It does take the paint away just by a hue but its better than marker all over your wall
Alcohol swabs also work well whenever you want to remove sharpie from your skin. I’m guessing that isopropyl alcohol would also remove permanent marker for walls, floors and other furniture.
You might also use some spray sunscreen. We use that at trader Joe's for wiping off sharpie from signs to reuse them. But they are laminated. Not sure if it would work on a porous material. Magic clean eraser probably would help too.
Fun fact from high school chemistry that I’ve never forgotten. Like erased like so either retrace the sharpie lines with sharpie and wipe it back off or use like rubbing alcohol lol
I bought off brand lysol from dollar general and it literally took the marker off my clients walls while i was cleaning for her. She was super happy, and i was surprised something so cheap worked so well lol
Dry erase marker also takes off sharpie. Not sure if it works on a wall but if you accidentally use sharpie on a dry erase board, just go over it with a dry erase marker
her wall was dry wall with a clear coat and yours was what looks to be some type of stucco. the clear coat in her wall stopped the ink from soaking through and you’d absorbed the ink so it made it harder to get out
Life hack: Realize that different walls will absorb sharpie ink differently, and that the lenth of time that the ink is left on the wall will also impact the ability to get it off, so a hack for getting sharpie off one wall may not work nearly as well if at all in another house. Unless its hydrochloric acid. Hydrochloric acid fixes everything.🙂
When she was showing the sharpie used on the wall the sharpie was metallic goldfish brown when on the wall it's black. The one on the wall could be dry erase marker or washable marker.
I spent $100 on a small travel washer, set it in the bathtub so it had a place to drain, and spent another $40 or so on a large folding drying rack and air dried everything. Last time I used pay machines it cost about $5 or $10 per load. The only thing i couldnt wash was large blankets but that was fine since i had friends and family nearby that i could wash those in every once in a while.
Just trace over it with a dry erase marker and than wipe it off. It's how I cleaned the expo boards for my teachers when others used permanent marker on them. Do it in small bits at a time so it doesn't dry before you get to wipe it. Not super fast but works better than scrubbing a bunch
Also it depends on the paint and the wall type. Some paints are with latex in it and that’s why you can clean it easier without rubbing off the actual paint
Hand Sanitizer: Gel --> If it's been there a while. Foam --> If it just happened. Be generous, and let it set/ soak. Re-apply more once u start to scrub, and if u can, use a cloth or 🧽 sponge with a scrubber side. 👍
probably depends on you're paint. the first clip is a glossy paint but the guys paint is that matte paint that absorbs anything permanently, the evil paint that feels gross to touch
So i learned from my job that you can draw over the sharpie with an expo/ any dry erase marker and it will remove the sharpie ink with the dry erase ink
I used eye makeup remover and it worked amazingly! Specifically, I used Mary Kay Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. Took sharpie off the walls and my son's face without scrubbing!
You needed a magic eraser with WD-40.
Isopropyl alcohol and magic eraser also work.
Magic eraser is the best
So basically magic eraser.
@@popemuffin7762 by itself, it can't pull up permanent marker.

This right here is the way!
Straight magic eraser does the job
Sharpie is a alcohol based marker, so you can remove it with alcohol. Magic eraser might help and might remove a bit of the paint underneath
Like with regular old rubbing alcohol?

Especially with the wd-40 rite? Giving the fact that it’s oil/grease?
For the expo one that only works on dry erase boards
Perfume also works!
I always use a dry-erase marker. I learned the trick in elementary school and it still treats me well lmao
That is, on a whiteboard.
The wall paint is also different. The original looked to have a high gloss finish that would prevent the sharpie from soaking in the paint.

That's a beautiful story!
Naur bro actually told the kid to draw on the wall 😅😂❤
That's what he gets for makeing his kid dra on the wallb
So true lol
They forgot to mention just how important the magic eraser is. 😂😂

That was the first thing I did after we bought our house was buy sharpie markers and let my kids go to town on a wall. 🥰

Try sunscreen. Any brand works and it takes the sharpie off of anything and everything. Hope it helps 😊
Facts, I drew sharpie on my friends and they would get passed, so I brought the sunscreen out and I still have friends
Also, handsynitizer works great on like desks and tables.
It also takes it off of skin fairly well lol

If wd 40 catches fire it literally blows up No don't try to use it on a wall

Idk bout sharpie specifically but magic erasers or generic equivalent are shockingly good for removing a number of things
You need a magic eraser. Mr. Clean will alway have your back when it comes to cleaning.

I get sharpie on stuff a lot (artist) rubbing alcohol works immediately i didnt know it was a problem for people as ive always used it
You can use hairspray to get it off of walls and furniture, my brother did something like this when he was a toddler
Magic eraser removes permanent marker off of floors and walls. I love how my sons wanted to turn the floor into a work of art. Happy parenting !!!

Just put paper up on all the level walls where they can play. Let them decorate it. And have it framed later as a big keep sake.
She used a magic eraser too. I vouch for it. Magic erasers make a world of difference. I wish they didn’t crumble so easily though.
Baby oil, or isopropyl alcohol. Hairspray weirdly works, too but only on certain surfaces.

Nail polish remover is a solvent for marker inks.
Use a dry erase marker. Go over the sharpie with the dry erase and follow with a cloth. You have to do it in batches, but it does work
Yup, she was definitely using the magic sponge too. Those alone can get the sharpie out.
Yeah.... That guy totally made the lines.

Go over it with whiteboard markers. There’s some chemical in those pens reacts with sharpie ink and it does work!

Make sure your paint finish is glossy and not flat. If it's flat you're screwed
Permanent marker comes off with nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. Just takes a little elbow grease.
Spray on sunscreen works really well
maybe when u draw lightly on the wall it works well or it must be black color
You could so try Expo marker.! I Recommend the black one but you can use any color too if you’d like
It probably also depends on the type of paint they had in their walls
If you draw over it with a expo, dry erase marker, you can just wipe it away easily
Magic erasers are the best solutions! I use it all the time at the preschool
The magic eraser will remove it by itself that's how good it is. After having a mark on the wall for 5 years a magic eraser took it off in 2 seconds
I was told the sunscreen that comes in a can actually works as well.
