    We use hydroxypapatite in biochemistry. I remember when I was young and I asked mu biology teacher if we could use it in toothpaste since it is made from grounded animal bones. He laughed. That was 30 years ago.

      I would like to mention that there are multiple publications that have shown that nHAp, while has benefits for bone and tooth regeneration, can and does also agglomerate in vital organs such as liver and kidneys. This can happen even if applied topically. In light this research, it is banned for use by the EC. It possesses some powerful properties that could incredibly useful but we should always remember there’s no magic bullet (just look at Ozempic). We have to be cognizant of continuous research.

    Nano-HA and other calcium phosphates are great for sensitive teeth. I have been using nano-HA for years, even when it was hard to find (I bought imported BioRepair and used that). Unlike flouride, it actually goes deep into the tooth, into the dentin.
    Fluoride is mainly good for protecting from acid erosion, which is common in the western diet. But if you avoid sugar and junk foods, nano-HA works great. You also don't have to worry about fluoride toxicity if you are prone to swallowing toothpaste.

    I have a question, does HA (not nano form) give resistance to acids and protect the enamel and dentin from wearing down?

    • @greatoralhealth
      @greatoralhealth  2 года назад +13

      Hydroxyapatite is a natural form of calcium that the body uses to form bones and teeth. It is a naturally occurring mineral and it makes up the majority of our teeth and bones. In fact, this form of calcium makes up over 90% of your enamel and over 70% of your inner dentin.
      One reason it works so well on your teeth is that it is biocompatible-meaning it is compatible with life (in this case your body). So, unlike fluoride, which is not native to your body, hydroxyapatite actually is what your body uses to make your enamel.
      The way it works, to remineralize teeth, is that it replaces the minerals that are lost to the acids from foods, bacteria, acidic pH in the mouth as well as erosion from daily wear and tear. It fills in those microscopic cracks and holes, created by erosion, acids, and tooth decay. One of the main ways that the body transports hydroxyapatite to your teeth is through saliva.
      The bottom line, hydroxyapatite is what your body uses to repair your teeth. However, with our modern diets and the common bacterial imbalances in your mouth, your body’s natural enamel repair becomes overloaded and overwhelmed.
      The use of hydroxyapatite delivers the support and backup that your body needs to remineralize and strengthen your teeth against the daily attacks of bacteria, acids, and erosion. Especially in the nano form as this has been engineered for super effective and efficient remineralization.

      When you use nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste… Should you leave it on your teeth for a little while to be absorbed. …. And you talk about remineralizing your teeth through saliva. But the hydroxyapatite is already going to be rinsed out of your mouth. If you could say more about that.

      Infrared light therapy combined with sound frequency can help activate dentin pull stem cells. Infrared leads to the reorganization of the enamel matrix, but in terms of producing new enamel from the inside out that's only possible during tooth development. However, combining nanohydroxyabitie with Infrared and sound frequencies along with continuous controlled microbrasiin on newly formed enamel layers could possibly allow continuous layers to build upon each other, as microbrasion would create crevices for the ha particles to latch on and stick to. This is a hypothesis. Chatgpt said potentially a paste could be made combing various photon reactivate molecules and nano ha, where it could have a controlled release of ha by using Infrared to activate these molecules, where it could release the ha particles in a manner that would allow continuous enamel layers to be built upon eachother

      Thank you for your interest. This is a very, very important question to ask. There are several kinds of toothpaste that promote hydroxyapatite but as this is an expensive ingredient, especially in a nano form, the actual amount can be just a token amount. Based on clinical studies, a minimum of 10% concentration is recommended for full effectiveness. We have exceeded this in our toothpaste formulation with a full 11% hydroxyapatite (6% in the nano form). That is why we believe our toothpaste to be the best there is for sensitivity relief and for mineralizing your enamel.

      I appreciate your interest in our products. Hydroxyapatite is the natural form of calcium that makes up most of your enamel and your bones. It is the natural bone-building substance of your body. Nano means very small and tiny. In order to bond effectively to your enamel, we use a patented process to "nano-ize" the hydroxyapatite. This makes for a very effective way to mineralize and strengthen your teeth. Our patented form has been clinically tested for highly effective sensitivity relief. As a bonus, hydroxyapatite is naturally pure white so it provides a whitening boost as well.oRepair the biomimetic properties to integrate microparticles with enamel and dentin, with consequent mineralising and restorative action.

      What we have found in our research and development of the toothpaste - which actually took 14 years is that the idea was to have two sources and to utilize both the micro and macro side of hydroxyapatite technology. Macro aids in encouraging giving the body (specifically the oral cavity, teeth, and gums) the ingredients most beneficial to aid in the natural process of self-mineralization of our teeth. The Nano hydroxyapatite aspect is small enough to get into the dentinal tubules. This can really handle the interface of the dentin enamel junction and will occlude any exposed dentinal tubules, bringing about a significant reduction in sensitivity and a maximum chance for natural remineralization on a microscopic level.

      Hello Logan! Our preferred method is to manually brush your teeth using a soft-bristled toothbrush. The reason is that manually you have more control over the pressure and the angle of brushing.
      An electric toothbrush often comes with stiffer bristles and most users apply too much pressure on their teeth and gums. Over time, this is damaging to both the enamel and your gums.
      That being said, if there is an issue with manually brushing your teeth (impaired hand functions or such) then you can certainly use an electric toothbrush BUT make sure you have a soft-bristled brush attached and pay attention to maintain GENTLE PRESSURE on your teeth and gums.

    Is risewell and Boka toothpaste a nano- hydroxyapatite?

    • @greatoralhealth
      @greatoralhealth  2 года назад +1

      RiseWell toothpaste does contain hydroxyapatite, a natural form of calcium phosphate that is the primary element in your enamel. However, hydroxyapatite does not readily remineralize your teeth. It is helpful to have it in a toothpaste and this adds hydroxyapatite to your saliva and this can help your saliva in its remineralization process BUT in this form it is not super efficient. The effective way to remineralize your enamel is with NANO-hydroxyapatite with is a super tiny form that is formulated in a lab and is designed to efficiently and effectively bond to the micro pockets in your enamel and so provide superior remineralization and strengthening to your teeth. Not all nano-hydroxyapatite is the same. We use a patented form that is clinically proven to work. And, although formulated in a lab, it is natural and safe.
      Boka toothpaste does contain NHA but there is no information on what kind of NHA they use or what the percentage is. Our brand contains a full 11% hydroxyapatite (6% NHA and 5% HA). And we use a patented and clinically proven form of NHA for effective results.

      @@greatoralhealth Would it be better if your toothpaste was full nano instead of being a mix of both regular hydroxyapatite and nano? Can you please explain why yours is not full nano?

    Is it natural or synthetic?

      We use a high-percentage blend of nano-hydroxyapatite along with naturally occurring hydroxyapatite. We have found that this blend is effective. We use a patented form that is clinically proven to work. And, although formulated in a lab, it is natural and safe

    How does it compare to biomin f?

    • @greatoralhealth
      @greatoralhealth  Год назад

      Biomin, according to their website, does not contain hydroxyapatite. It is a type of compound that adheres to the teeth. It contains calcium, phosphate, and fluoride. It works by slowing dissolving over 12 hours and releasing those three ingredients to assist remineralization

    So this repairs cavities?

    • @greatoralhealth
      @greatoralhealth  2 года назад +3

      In its very beginning stages, before it has gotten through the enamel, the nano-hydroxyapatite can help to strengthen the enamel. However, sadly, once the cavity has broken through the enamel one must see the dentist for treatment, and the sooner the better because then it's an easy fix. To date, there are several researchers working in these areas on regrowing enamel and reversing cavities, but the inner lay of the tooth is called dentin and once the decay gets into the dentin, we don't have a way yet to regrow the dentin. Trust me, at Great Oral Health, we keep our eyes and ears wide open for such breakthroughs!

    If it says micrcrystalline hydroxyapatite it is same enough

    • @greatoralhealth
      @greatoralhealth  2 года назад

      No, the two are not the same thing. Micro hydroxyapatite particles are bigger than nano particles. Micro hydroxyapatite is sourced from nature, not made in the lab. Our nano-hydroxyapatite was researched and designed specifically for bonding to and mineralizing tooth enamel. The particles are far smaller and clinically shown to improve enamel strength and to reduce sensitivity issues.
