This is a great tidbit to put out there, TC. I think ELs presentation style was maybe the most valuable thing I took away from my time with him a couple years ago. It greatly improved my consistency shooting TDA guns.
I'm doing my best to do it EL's way. It really is a faster, smoother and more accurate method. Just suspend judgement for a while and learn a better technique. I'm here to learn and improve. This guy knows his stuff.
Really looking at it, I personally didn't see much difference in his "correct" presentation versus the incorrect, at least as far as the "escalator" movement. I know his presentation is more in line with the press-out, where the shot breaks as he reaches full extension. To me, it almost seems like there's trigger work before having sight confirmation. But I'm nowhere near his league, so what do I know? Always fun to watch him work though.
There are other vids on ernest page definitely starting to pull the long DA trigger before sights are confirmed. He goes over it in detail exactly what trigger finger is doing during presentation
My understanding is that you prep the trigger and take up the slack while aiming and do this before you reach the apex of the presentation. I learned that from Pat McNamara. You should check his videos out too. One of the best descriptions of the draw like EL.
Perhaps the best draw explanation I have heard

New sub, Garand Thumb spoke very highly of you, I can see why. God Bless.
Really? Where did he do that, if you don’t mind me asking...

Wow.
The presentation of one shot that is shown in this video is not correct.
Mind-f***. Won’t do it any other way again.
The first time you "did it correctly" .. you didn't draw from the holster. How does that compare with the "did it incorrectly" example???
Jerrydgeek Burnett he didn't draw from the holster on the "incorrect" method either, he started from high ready both times...
