I love Bart so much, kind of missing him. You are right about manners in Japan, but I think Japanese parents are less controlling than Americans at least when it comes to what they expose their children to. Theres a lot of content in Japanese children media that would never be allowed in America. They have more of an attitude letting them be independent, they dont baby their children like many American families (which is both good and bad imo). They are strict when it comes to manners and grades. I should mention I'm not Japanese though and this is just from observation so I could be wrong, and this is also a generalisation. So, basically, a character like Bart isn't going to gain any negative reactions from parents, these kinds of rebel characters are common in kids anime and Japanese media. Its only when the child begins to act like that when they get concerned.
On the topic of the transfer of energy on the barrier, I always thought that it worked like a impact/reject dial. Not in the sense that it absorbs and stores the energy, but is not affected by the physical force of the attack, and will send that physical force back at the attacker at the time of impact. That's why I believe Hack broke his wrist, it wasn't the barrier per se, but the physical force pushed back on to him. Thinking back, most of the attacks thrown at Bartolomeo are just that, thrown at him, projectiles in a sense. Besides Hack, Cavendish, and Dellinger (I can't remember if Gladius physically hit Crest Head's barrier) but most things he blocks are objects and air attacks, example being air slashes and air punches, aka the King Punch and other attacks like it. Hack, punched the barrier as hard as he could, and remember fishman karate doesn't just affect the physical form but the water in the body as well, so both his wrist and the water in his wrist was pushed back at the same force he tried to attack Bartolomeo with. Dellinger was just "lightly" kicking the barrier, not showing his real strength, so the force wasn't great enough to hurt him back. Hakuba/Cavendish used a sword, and assuming that they were most likely just cutting willy nilly, the physical force push back on the sword wouldn't be that great. Unless the sword slashes had a lot of force behind them, then I'm assuming that Cavendish can use haki and the sword didn't break due to it. That's why I think his attack homaging Luffy, the Barrier Barrier Pistol, was so effective against Gladius. It wasn't just the force of Bartolomeo's punch, but the force of the punch and the force of the impact onto the barrier during contact that knocked Gladius out. We don't know how strong Crest Head truly is, because his barrier is just that over powered. I can safely assume that a normal, non barriered punch thrown by Bartolomeo wouldn't be half as effective against Gladius. Anyways that's my head cannon theory take it and do with it what you will. Edit : plz like so Tekking senpai will see.

If the Barrier can truly withstand all impacts, then the force of the impact might go back to the attackant, like in BNHA when All Might attacked Gran Torino in the battle against All for One. If thats the case then bring him to Wano and let him assist Luffy and Kid in the fight with Kaido.
So if the bari-bari fruit has essentially force/kinetic energy reflection, then if Kaido used all of his strength, it might actually kill him, which is kinda hilarious as Kaido has been trying to kill himself for decades. The energy got absorbed by the barrier. When Elizabello used the king punch to Bartolomeo, Bartolomeo protected himself, and send the barrier to Elizabello returning the energy he got. Basically Bartolomeo can absorb every attack and redirect it to others with his barrier.
Bartolomeo's barrier can be moved by another's force. It happened when everyone was trying to stop the bird cage from collapsing and even had other members of the grand fleet pushing on it but the birdcage still moved inwards pushing the barrier back.

It's only in the anime that Dragon specifically summons the wind. There is no indication in the manga that he had anything to do with it, other than he happened to be in the same town at the time.

The thing about that lightning strike... do we KNOW for a fact that Dragon provoked it? I mean, we know he brought the storm, this at least is clear. But do we know that it was Dragon's intention to have the lighting strike buggy just in time do save Luffy? Was that ever confirmed in any way? I mean, storms and lightnings are a pretty random thing. While I'm sure Dragon can choose to have lighting strike at a precise moment and place, I expect he doesn't constantly micromanage them. Just summon the storm over a place, and then let it do its thing. And a marking detail of that moment was that Luffy was perfectly fine with being powerless, and having to leave it up to fate. And I feel it's a philosophy Dragon might share as an anarchist. You can't control everything. Trying to is an abomination in itself. Sometimes, you just need to let the world take its course. The way I see it, Dragon came to Roguetown to start a storm as a way to celebrate the beginning of his son's adventure, a foreshadowing of the storm he expects him to start on the seas. But if Luffy had died there and then, he'd have been okay with it too. He's here to send off his son, not to hold his hand.
We will have to wait for the two to meet to get more on this. I don't if anyone else shares my sentiments, but doesn't it seem like it is getting to be about time that Luffy and his father met? They have to do so at some point and I think we are getting to the point where they need to have a talk, just my opinion.
Awesome stuff In the anime they expand more on when the straw hats ride on Barto's ship and it was extremely hillarious. He has a journal and they have story time where he sits his crew down and tells them how each straw hat joined. Mega LOLZ
He probably didn't even need to coat his ship in Sabaondi, just did a big barrier ball and just sank down to Fishman Island. And once he saw that the island is under Luffy's control, he was the nicest visitor to Fishman Island ever, letting him get help to go back up on the other side of the red line.

Head cannon time line... Crest Head sees the 3D1Y on Luffy's arm in the paper, he goes out to sea looking for Luffy. During the full year time skip, Bartolomeo would have at least gotten close to Sabaondi, if not right after the Strawhats met back up. After FI the Strawhats, on Luffy's whim, went with Law to get Caesar, and then to Dressarosa. Bartolomeo could have skipped Punk Hazard and went to a different island, then got to Dressarosa before the Strawhats.

I can see them arguing, but given their different professions it is unlikely that they will meet...then again, many unlikely things happen in anime and fiction such as a flipped coin landing on neither heads nor tails, but remaining on its side standing up.

If the Barrier can truly withstand all impacts, then the force of the impact might go back to the attackant, like in BNHA when All Might attacked Gran Torino in the battle against All for One.
All for One used the shock reversal quirk at the moment of one of All Might connecting the punch which damaged All Might the most, it might be like that.

So if the bari-bari fruit has essentially force/kinetic energy reflection, then if Kaido used all of his strength, it might actually kill him, which is kinda hilarious as Kaido has been trying to kill himself for decades. It would be like how Naruto used rasengan to redirect the Third Raikage's attack back at himself which critically damaged him. I can see Oda taking this route to pay homage to Naruto.
Heck, I can see how with Bartolomeo might make Kaido forcibly transform into the dragon form, taking the battle to the skies and being a freaking awesome fight altoghether

The energy got absorbed by the barrier. When Elizabello used the king punch to Bartolomeo, Bartolomeo protected himself, and send the barrier to Elizabello returning the energy he got. Basically Bartolomeo can absorb every attack and redirect it to others with his barrier.

Bartolomeo's barrier can be moved by another's force. It happened when everyone was trying to stop the bird cage from collapsing and even had other members of the grand fleet pushing on it but the birdcage still moved inwards pushing the barrier back.

At this point the arc is getting crazy due to everything happening and everyone involved. I wouldn't be surprised if the next person to show up is a very lost mailman...I don't actually think it will happen but random thoughts all around. One thing is for sure, this whole situation is becoming very complicated really fast.

It's only in the anime that Dragon specifically summons the wind. There is no indication in the manga that he had anything to do with it, other than he happened to be in the same town at the time.

I don't think Barto's barriers can stop all of the momentum of anything. Remember the bird cage? The barrier was moving alongside with it.
The thing about that lightning strike... do we KNOW for a fact that Dragon provoked it? I mean, we know he brought the storm, this at least is clear. But do we know that it was Dragon's intention to have the lighting strike buggy just in time do save Luffy? Was that ever confirmed in any way? I mean, storms and lightnings are a pretty random thing. While I'm sure Dragon can choose to have lighting strike at a precise moment and place, I expect he doesn't constantly micromanage them. Just summon the storm over a place, and then let it do its thing.
And a marking detail of that moment was that Luffy was perfectly fine with being powerless, and having to leave it up to fate. And I feel it's a philosophy Dragon might share as an anarchist. You can't control everything. Trying to is an abomination in itself. Sometimes, you just need to let the world take its course.
The way I see it, Dragon came to Roguetown to start a storm as a way to celebrate the beginning of his son's adventure, a foreshadowing of the storm he expects him to start on the seas. But if Luffy had died there and then, he'd have been okay with it too. He's here to send off his son, not to hold his hand.
We will have to wait for the two to meet to get more on this. I don't if anyone else shares my sentiments, but doesn't it seem like it is getting to be about time that Luffy and his father met? They have to do so at some point and I think we are getting to the point where they need to have a talk, just my opinion.

He probably didn't even need to coat his ship in Sabaondi, just did a big barrier ball and just sank down to Fishman Island. And once he saw that the island is under Luffy's control, he was the nicest visitor to Fishman Island ever, letting him get help to go back up on the other side of the red line.

@@leav425 well, given that, I'm assuming he took off to sea during the time skip, that's why the Going Luffy has his classic look. He might have gone to the grandline looking for him, and when he heard news of Fishman Island being liberated by the Strawhats, he probably was trying to catch up to Luffy as quickly as possible.
Head cannon time line... Crest Head sees the 3D1Y on Luffy's arm in the paper, he goes out to sea looking for Luffy. During the full year time skip, Bartolomeo would have at least gotten close to Sabaondi, if not right after the Strawhats met back up. After FI the Strawhats, on Luffy's whim, went with Law to get Caesar, and then to Dressarosa. Bartolomeo could have skipped Punk Hazard and went to a different island, then got to Dressarosa before the Strawhats.

As for how he got to Dressrosa, it seems that the sea has many different routes to go in the same general direction.
@@jamesvach6698 Yes, when the Strawhats talked to Croakus he told them about the log pose and how the islands magnetic pull will rout out a path thru the grand line, but all the paths in the new world all end at Fishman Island, and all paths in Paradise begin from Fishman Island. Barto probably just took a different path from there.

So the question becomes, how hot can bartolomeo's barriers get and how fast can they cool down?
Also, if he can control the shape of his barriers, he could make his "Bari Bari Pistol" way stronger by making it like drill shaped, hell I think he could even spin it around since he can move his barriers if he wishes. So it's kind of an unbreakable spear too.
