Such a smart, funny and likeable chap. He hadn't been on my radar for ages but I'll really miss him. I've watched a few of his stand up gigs over the past 12 hours and my god was he a brilliant comic. A true heavyweight who deserved better coverage. There was something very Bill Hicks about his style with accents of Stewart Lee. RIP
"I do lots of work for SCOPE so I should be..." "...but you don't mention it much though." Such beautiful, casual delivery. Sean was a true wit, I bet he was hilarious to hang out with.
I used to work at a terrible hotel in Coventry that sold a very poor lunchtime carvery for £5 and Nicholas Lyndhurst would come in and treat his parents.
Russel Brand = 58,000 views, Sean Hughes = 8,500. Views don't mean much I suppose, because Sean is a total dude. :) As a kid, I used to watch Sean's Show when I was supposed to be asleep. It was so abstract and so brilliant. The tone was so low key. I remember it fondly.
I'm watching this for the first time. Can't believe Sean's gone. :-(. Sean's show I watched all the time. Did his sock ever dry on the back of the chair? :-(
I'm gutted I never got to meet him as well. I toyed with the idea of contacting him via Twitter/Facebook a few times, just to tell him how much of a fan I was, but never bothered because I thought he (and many other comedians) probably get messages like that all the time. But I wish I had now. Life is too short. I was four years old when Sean's Show came out, and about eight when he started on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. He was funny to me as a youngster (Sean's Show in particular has that fun, childlike appeal), and he's funny to me now as a 29 year old. Really sad to see him go. Always came across as a really genuine bloke.
I have to admit I have never seen Richard Herring live , but having watched quite a few podcast's that will soon change , I hope. Are you doing an Edinburgh show this year Richard? Whatever your doing keep up the good work you have cheered me up these last few weeks and when I manage to find meaningful employment again I will be getting myself a go faster stripe badge and my life will be complete !! If all else fails I have a 2 bedroom flat in Edinburgh that could be up for rent come the summer !
I saw Sean Hughes at Reading Festival in 1994. Henry Rollins was playing at another stage & Sean suggested we go over there & best him up. We didn't. Funny guy, though.
on the Pringles issue....way back in the early 1970's when Pringles first appeared on the mass market, the New Mexico legislature took it to task if Pringles could be sold in New Mexico as potato chips as they were not potato but reconstituted potato flour made into the shape of a crisp, the debate went on for more than an hour, and it was finally decided that Pringles could be sold in New Mexico, but they would have to be labeled potato flavored chips and not potato chips......lot of good it did, the packaging was never changed.
as i watch, it occurs to me that i can't tell which person i like more. massive entertainment. sean hughes is generous as f#ck, and rich is..well..you know..
+Phil Porter Seconded, exactly what I was thinking. (it's not like Shaun needed any padding out) He always gabbles when he gets a laugh like a man splashing about tryna get air.
being a Daddy agrees with you, all those happy silly faces are starting to have their affect on your visage.....Happy Smiley Daddy!! with a glow. and then you bestow upon us a smattering of viewing to keep the RiHeLeSTePa going.....
Been having a Sean-fest as I still can't accept he's gone.. RIP you gorgeous, underrated, bloody brilliant man xx
loss beyond words
Sean's sad passing brought me here...again. RIP
Same for me. Loved Sean's Show.
Me too. Wonder does that guy still have the mango air freshener.
What a great interview with a funny, lovable guy.

RIP Sean - his “man who lives now” response is one of my all-time faves from any RHLSTP.
So long Mr Show. Thanks for bringing us this gem Mr Herring
Mad respect to you Sean.

Rest in Peace Sean Hughes, taken far too young
This really is one of the best ones

Fucking loved Sean's Show. In fact, when I saw this link, that was what came to mind. One of my insomnia faves in my youth.
Me too, I went to see him live the night before I started secondary school. Great stuff.
Stewart Lee still has a hundred thousand more than Russell, at least there's that.
Although most of them were probably there for Trevor.
I like Russell...and Sean, RIP. 💚☘️💚
"The Sweeney, The Sweeney and i've got the comfy chair!" RIP Sean
The same here, its so sad about Seanhe was a great guy and a very funny comedian R.I.P. Sean!
I'm watching this for the first time. Can't believe Sean's gone. :-(. Sean's show I watched all the time. Did his sock ever dry on the back of the chair? :-(
Sleep tight, sweet prince. rip 💜
Why would life take this guy out early? He is everything wonderful.
RIP SEAN HUGHES______I'M SO SAD TO NOT MEET YOU.

Rich's response, brilliant moment 25:02
At the risk of sounding obvious, I really don't want Sean to be gone.
I have to admit I have never seen Richard Herring live , but having watched quite a few podcast's that will soon change , I hope.

"My whole life I thought I had terrible handwriting but last week I discovered I'm actually left handed" - Sean Hughes. RIP
I saw Sean Hughes at Reading Festival in 1994. Henry Rollins was playing at another stage & Sean suggested we go over there & best him up. We didn't. Funny guy, though.
He says Bill Hicks was taken way too young...
Mad respect in commentsxxxx
RIP Sean Hughes sad to lose another great comic
Sean Hughes is shining here. Much missed
Sean was a funny guy, much missed.
After a really slow and awkward start i really enjoyed this video.
Just found out he died, such a sad loss.. RIP Sean.

Bub-bye now ..... bub-bye :-(
bye darling
I’m still so angry with Sean Huges….such a funny man….I miss him
What does Sean say Richard should read at 31m? Richard kept talking over him and I couldn't hear.
He said "You should re-do it"
R.i.p seany boy.
You were too giddy on this one Richard.
+Phil Porter Seconded, exactly what I was thinking. (it's not like Shaun needed any padding out)
He always gabbles when he gets a laugh like a man splashing about tryna get air.
But I love SUsan ...
Not sure Sean was 100% accurate here!
NMTB was a hybrid of Nirvana's NEVERMIND, The Sex Pistols Nevermind THE Bollocks and BUZZCOCKS.
Phill Jupitus gives the definitive smackdown to Richard's questioning of the title on his RHLSTP.
being a Daddy agrees with you, all those happy silly faces are starting to have their affect on your visage.....Happy Smiley Daddy!! with a glow.
and then you bestow upon us a smattering of viewing to keep the RiHeLeSTePa going.....
Shit. Was it the cheese then?
Anyone from Might Boosh?
ahh bless
when sean said ive been full of sperm for 35 years, i would have said...yours i hope?
Is it really that weird to shower facing away from the water? I don't face the water. Is that a woman thing?
No, I'm the same.
Nope, I do it too.
Sean looked like karl pilkington, but with hair
