Which you would know if you paid attention to the video. And since the stacks still only wear off one by one, it is actually way more broken than in e.g. Slay the Spire.
i love how some people find card games not too fun, but this game brings an interesting design with its first person aspect, just like inscryption with it’s secrets and story
Most people only know like, yugioh and solitaire. Basically rare card collection and straight up just math games. These games are like, completely different, in mechanics not just presentation.

I always think Tyler is super smart and good at games until I watch him play the type of game I’m good at. This whole gameplay I was groaning at the screen watching him make obvious misplays. Why would you ever pick “draw 2 cards” for 1 energy when there’s also a card with replenish that’s basically the same thing for 0 energy…
tbf he did bring a knife to use stab with, and it's also modern day because of the phone so he couldn't get a sword or bow legally also an appetite is a great thing to bring when all your enemies are also delicious snacks
@@dumb214 sword, bow, and more is legal in the USA :-) Swords tend to have limits on blade length if they fold up, but for fixed blades, as long as you aren't intentionally showing it to people in public, it's legal in most places. Same rule about showing a bow to people in public, though I think most people would feel less threatened by a bow, and lower the chances of being charged with brandishing.
Surprised you didn’t take the card that would give energy whenever you eat with how many eating items you had. Could’ve had some long chains with that combo!

I would like to point out that your unholy soup was made from 3 toasties, so presumably if you end a fight with unconsumed toasties in your deck, you can throw them into the pot to make soup without losing anything too valuable.
Yep, that is a lot of the fun of the game, all the things cards give you do not go away at the battle, so one can use the toasty to get the soups with 99 uses and than use those soups to make more soups in a kind of soup Oroborus. Notably cooking only uses one use just like eating, so it actually a good deal.
This feels almost like a reskin of Slay The Spire. The battles are pretty similar, and the 3d exploration puzzles are a more detailed path you'd take in inscription or STS after the battles. All in all this could be a great spiritual successor to STS.
I didn’t think toothpicks were going to be consistent enough to be good, and it would be relegated to meme status. I was very wrong. That’s some big damage.
This game honestly looks really awesome, and I'm surprised it's choose your own price. I don't know the extent of the game that the developers have in mind, but this definitely feels like it has a lot of potential. The graphics are charming, the game looks pretty intuitive once you play a couple of hands, and the theming is very consistent. I look forward to seeing what else may come from this!
The 1 cost "if fatal activate twice" (forgot the name) is really frickin good, especially against the stupid shield shit. Extremely fun, kinda want these guys to make a longer and more in depth version of this game. I would totally pay 20+ dollars for it
Tyler if you want to beat the game easily you can get a scythe and use the training dummy (one training dummy is fine) on the scythe to get both vulnerable and if fatal increase damage by 2 and just spam the scythe with a small deck and it will power up per enemy it kills. If you get either of the sacrifices and growth cards will power it up quicker. I got a 91 damage scythe and rekted the final boss. The vulnerable is to get rid of shields quicker. You can give your other cards replenish and energize for consistency. Also you can run by holding shift.
Hey Tyler, I recently played Return of the Obra Dinn, a puzzle game/murder mystery where you investigate a ghost ship where all the crew mysteriously died. It was tough, but I was very satisfied. You may have heard of it. Have you played it already, and if not, do you plan to on stream? I think you'd enjoy it. Edit: in case it influences your opinion, yes, it is available on steam, as well as the switch eshop of all places.
It's amazing, but I *highly* recommend people play it for themselves instead of watching it online, recordings and compression ruin the graphics unfortunately.

Apparently grabbing Gluttony with the usual eat engine can make you draw the entire deck to play with, so that's cool. Also hit for 336 on my run today
I got slay the spire a couple days ago and love it, this game feels like all the same good mechanics but a nice reboot of story and cards, I haven't watched very long so I don't know if you've ever played slay the spire, but I urge you to check it out if you haven't and liked this game!
I'm glad there are more games being made in the vein of Paper Sorcerer, which was a D&D based dungeon crawler with first person exploration, and turn based battles, but the dev's decided not to work on a sequel which is a massive shame, considering the game was incredibly flexible, and could have been much much bigger in scope!
You had a potential infinite. You could have gotten 2 glutton. Willing sacrifice -> 4 toasty (get 8 energy & rotten toothpicks) -> draw rest of deck -> willing sacrifice
Little detail that I noticed: The hand of the player started to grow mushrooms itself over the course of the game. The biggest contrast is visible if you look at the beginning and the end of the video.
i love eating combat mechanics. if you can just ingore and armed gunman and quickly eat a fucking cup o noodle in the middle of a battle it is a great game
The thirsty mace, if fatal is usable again, plus it does 8 dmg. I have gotten its dmg up to 34. 34 dmg can oneshot most things so it is a literal battle wiper!

He missed out with vulture blade in a deck based on eating things, but otherwise yeah this was a very strong deck.

Pretty sure consume and exhaust are different in name only, but that matters as some effects are only triggered when a card is consumed
Major difference between consume and exhaust:
Consume: Use 1 time
