When Cartoons Explained Failure Better Than School Ever Did.

  • Failure is something we’re taught to fear-but cartoons often told a different story. In this compilation, animated moments show that failing isn’t the end but a part of growing, learning, and becoming who you’re meant to be.
Through simple storytelling and honest characters, cartoons remind us that mistakes don’t define us. They show the quiet strength in trying again, the courage to keep going, and the importance of not giving up on yourself when things don’t go as planned.
This video is for anyone who’s ever felt discouraged by setbacks and needed a reminder that failure is not a stop sign-it’s part of the journey.

I cried at this. I graduated uni 2 years ago. People say I'd easily get jobs as a graduate from abroad, but they were wrong. I applied for jobs after jobs, but none replied to me. Before I knew it, a year went by. I've been unemployed for one year since my graduation. Meanwhile my friends have already been working for a year, some received job offers within the year, some worked for a few months before pursued postgraduate studies. Everyone just seem successful.
I was under pressure. Each time I meet a relative it's always "What have you been up to today?" Or "Have you gotten a job?". It's a harmless question yet left a huge impact on someone who came from a family of high achievers
So I turned to the last option I had in mind - postgraduate studies. To be honest, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to pursue it. I just want to earn money so I can give back to my beloved family. I just want to prove to people that I'm not a failure. I told myself it's a good plan in the long run, but a part of me is severely done with schools and universities. Just mentally exhausted. And pursuing another study feels like I've got long way to go before I can consider myself successful.
So when the horse said "look how far we've come", I broke down. I never thought it that way my whole life. Always been "when are you getting there?"

@NotARussianDisinfoBot When you are raised and trained to see all failure as bad, and punished for it, it becomes a trauma that haunts you, and eventually forms perfectionism, a fear of failure, and a fear to try new things or push yourself. This is still seen in the work force of any job or any career. Whether it's shortcomings or not, it still affects people in much the same way as any trauma, and not everyone has the tools to pull themselves out of it.

I feel like failure is taken far too seriously nowadays.
The moment you slip, the slightest fumble, one measley mistake, and that's enough to immediately regard you as a failure in life. And if not, you'll just have people shouting or laughing at you for hours on end.
    And here is my respone...

That's because not everyone believe nor accustomed to the fact that you're not immune to failure when you're learning. Anyone want their effort to have a great result, or even perfect, despite all obstacle the world throws at them. When they see others that failed, they blame them as failure.
"Because they're not try hard enough! That's always be the reason!"
But it isn't. Longer I decide to keep living, more I know that a perfect learning is just bullshit. And being laughing at when failing, then be ignored when you're succeed is hurt.
*So I don't know when learning starts become humiliation. I only know that people do that because they just refuse to understand me.*

I think I have an idea when it started to be a humiliation. When society is defined to be a standardized. We all know that each person is unique, but at a certain point in time, we decided to organize that uniqueness (in this case when one fails easily than the rest) so that we could move forward. Unfortunately, society in itself does not have the patience to cater each and every one's uniqueness (or failures of the standard) because it is a standard where one size should fit all for the sake of an effective and efficient system. The idea in itself is a joke on humanity because how can a unique human be unique and conform at the same time without compromise?

    • @japtakito8551
      @japtakito8551 Month ago

It started since we are in a RUSHED world system that emphasizes you to HURRY: “speed it up, get moving quickly, time is flying, you should know it by now; it took them 5 seconds, why is it taking you 5 minutes? Grow up quickly or you will waste your time - get it together since your clock started clicking and your death is approaching. “ as much as I like the Olympics, I hate how the standard keeps getting higher and higher and higher and higher every year… because your #1 medal is outdated when the standard is set higher and someone else made it above you… you are outdated now…
Pressure … to be ready now or you get left behind and labeled as unworthy, incompetent, not acceptable…
& Comparisons … we see the “successful” or “ready” people who move quicker than others - like a 23 year old CEO with a mansion and family vs a graduate who can’t seem to find a job and is still living with roommates. People compare both of these and one is considered superior and other inferior.
All of this decreases your confidence and self esteem
But I’ve learned that I want to be a successful person in the eyes of God and not in the eyes of the world … because I’m accountable to Him … not the rest of you … His acceptance matters more than all the fake applause I get down here … He reached out when most are too busy to even care how I am doing

I think it depends on how you apply it really. While you should move forward and not dwell on the past that doesn’t mean you should ignore the past or act like moving forward erases the effects of the past. Because if you do that you’re bound to make the same mistakes over and over again instead of taking a little time to reflect so you learn nothing from the experience.
Basically (in my opinion) the past and your failures don’t have to *define* you as a whole but you can’t pretend that they didn’t *shape* you on some level

One of these is not like the others, Secretariat. The issue is that Secretariat hasn't actually solved his problems, but he's running from them. It's the advice that he gives to bojack that allows him to avoid all of his issues and never face them and in not allowing himself to become self-aware he becomes destructive and toxic to the people around him. Bojack doesn't become a better person because of Secretariat's advice, it's Secretariat passing his dysfunction on becaues he himself didn't face his own problems.
I understand why you thought it belonged with the others, but the difference is the intent. Are you forgetting the past because you've learned what you needed to, or are you too scared to face yourself in the mirror?

All advice and wisdom requires context. That is why there is contradictory pieces of wisdom because there’s a time in place for each. There’s a balance between solving your issues and letting them become all consuming and keeping you stuck. A lot of people are stuck and need to learn to move forward and not look back. I was just walking with a friend who was struggling with another person in their life who was still dwelling on stuff that happened to her 30 years ago in her childhood. And it is destroying every relationship in her life and driving her into alcoholism.
There is a time in a place for moving forward and not looking back. It’s especially useful advice for people for ruminate on past traumas and things they can’t control. Moving forward doesn’t always mean ignoring it, it can mean working through it and growing past it, and then leaving it in the past it belongs.

I throw my hands in the air and pray to a god that I’m not even sure exists. I do it just to help myself keep going. I hope tha if there is god that he helps me or that I see that I need to help myself. He said he can not help me if I do not help myself first so I must. There is no hope….just doing. Just keep doing you and you will be where your heart needs to go.

@victormedina-gloria7850 I remeber feeling that way as well. It's still hard to be alone at night sometimes, but having good people in your life helps.
But as far as God's help goes, it is true that God helps those who are proactively doing stuff, even if initialy they're not the right steps, He'll show you along the way.
However, God mainly blesses & helps those who believe in him & are really saved.
And getting saved isn't about changing your life or suddenly being a great person. It's about accepting God's payment for our sins, because we realize we never have been & never will be perfecr--or good enough to go to heaven.
There's a lot more I'd lile to offer you… a hug & words of encouragement mostly. You've got a good mindset for feeling so near-hopeless.
But I would encourage you to look up "once saved always saved steven anderson" here on RUclips.
That sermon helped me find God when I was a broken-hearted & depressed atheist. It won't solve your problems, but it'll show you the path to God, so he can walk w/ you from today onward.
Praying the best for you, Victor. 🙏 Hope to see you in heaven.

I wonder what the creators of these scenes and dialogue must have overcome to impart such timeless wisdom. Felt inspired by them when consuming this as a dumb child, but reconnecting with this as a dumb adult gives me newfound appreciation for the craft.

As I listen to this video telling us some valuable notes I noticed that when I was younger I can only see visualising effects instead of the important notes given to us. As I'm listening to this I know understand the meaning of all of it and I am thankful for the person who made this as I get to look back to my memories and understand the notes that are given.

6:10 this hits extra hard in the movie because Po spends the entire first half basically being the aloof protagonist. A lot of is think that he's just pushing through as the typical fearless protagonist with a bit of correction from humble beginnings.
Then he hits us with this and we REALLY feel for po. We realize he felt lost, dejected, and nothing where he was. That he was just existing up till he was chosen to be the dragon warrior and he'd do anything than to go back to that, to just being him. In that moment for me Po went from protagonist of a movie to me, it was the time I felt so vicerally connected to a main character of the series and the moment Po really resonated with me.

I love these types of videos where it's the scene from the show or movie without someone trying to explain what it means or something. Also, the reason why cartoons/shows explain something better than school is because schools focus more on science and maths, which is great but rarely subjects about life or philosophy. Or at least where I'm from; not sure if they have those sorts of lessons in other countries.

@zhornlegacy7936Nah, Neji was wrong. Neji was saying that the birth should define you, Naruto was born a failure. Neji was saying that Naruto should continue being one. That's the problem with you people who haven't watched the series. Him being the reincarnation of a failure hammered in the point that he is the hardest worker in the series.
