NICE!!! One of the best videos from the upper Lehigh Line that I've ever seen. It's really a shame we don't have a CGAL/ALCG equivalent on the Dupont-Sayre stretch anymore.
At 09:45, Hetchel is in the tangent just beyond where you can see the track disappearing to the left in the upper left corner of the scene. From this same location, if you would pan around to the far right, the curve at the end of where you can see the track is the Ox Bow curve.
Beautifully done! I've spent a lot of time on this line (but not in winter!) and it's what my HO layout is based on, we run CGAL/ALCG at every op session.
Is ALCG Allentown-Corning? That was when the entire railroad was owned by Conrail, now it's broken up into different owners like NS, Reading and Northern, Lehigh Railway. So yes, we'll never see a run through train like that again. NS goes Allentown-Binghamton now via R&N and CP.
When was this taken? There are NS locos on some of the trains along with Conrail, as well as CP Rail. Was it pre-1999 before the split or after? Is it pre-Reading and Northern, pre-1996 as well?
Very nice! Good to hear Conrail horns. I really do miss them Have a nice day😊

I miss trains on the Lehigh Line. Very little activity, just locals, everything routed through Enola since NS purchased the D&H Susquehanna line.
Dupont-Sayre is now Reading and Northern, and Lehigh Railway. They meet at Mehoopany west of Vosburg tunnel. P&G is a big customer for R&N.

At 9:45 where is Hetchel exactly located? Is it the big curve closest to you or the curve at the top left?
