There are 3 huge errors in this procedure: 1 - Always use plastic tools to remove glass backcovers, not metal tools, or you'll have high chance of breaking the glass 2 - Use pull-tabs to remove the glue. Do not use levers to detach the battery from the phone, you'll damage the phone's metal frame and, most important, you'll risk bending or piercing the battery, exposing you and your phone to chemical/fire hazard. 3 - When they're provided (like in this video), install your glue sticks making sure the pull-tabs will be reachable when the battery will be in place. Otherwise the next tine you'll risk damaging your phone/battery, as said before (2).
I wanted to swap the battery for the one from the the 5 III, the dimensions appear to be the same (but maybe the thickness isn't ?) I don't think that the different voltage rating would be a huge problem, the phone just won't charge in completely, and I reckon you can change battery capacity to match the new one using root access I've already used the wrong battery type on a smartphone (but with the right connector), it was 3.7V instead of 3.85, and wrong capacity Maybe it can be done ?
