If purchasing Gaea's Cradle is a bit outta range for anybody, another great alternative, with some caveats, is Growing Rites of Itlimoc. I've added a comment on this deck's TappedOut link with a brief explanation on it. This channel definitely fulfills a need for people that are already into cEDH or those that are interested in seeing the differences between a more casual commander experience and some brutal shenanigans. Well done!
This... Is very true. Growing Rites has a slow wind up, but the top ability can help in many instances (fetching a creature). I normally only suggest Nythkos as it’s a one-to-one switch, it being a Land, but GRoI is a good alternative with the same effect (once flipped). Hahaha, “brutal shenanigans,” I think that about sums up cEDH. -Patrick
Never made a *Yisan...* 🤔 Would definitely consider him for a future deck tech & gameplay. I do own one, but he’s always been in the 99. *Duly noted* -Patrick
@@LocalGameGroup He has a lot of cards in common with Selvala but the gameplan is more midrangey and resilient as oposed to Selvala where you basically want to be the fastest on the table.
A pal of mine use to play him... I think he got tired of the play lines, as they were rather easy to predict. However, I wouldn't mind taking a whack. As you mention, I own pretty much all the core cards. -Patrick
Oh man... That’s when you loop Beast Within, haha. I personally do all my ordering on the ‘Bay or Card Kingdom: is there an equivalent online auction house you could whip one up on? Perhaps an LGS would have a copy... It’s unlike any other card, in it’s efficiency of cost & effect. So, if you cannot find one and still want to swing out with your creatures turn three (should you be allowed), perhaps consider Touch of Vitae: when looped with EWIT (or Skullwinder) you can give all your creatures haste to win that same turn and it also allows you to Untap them after the fact (should something go wrong). However, make sure you can finish your opponents off that same turn, as you could potentially mill yourself during your next upkeep. This is a scenario where you should consider Primal Command in the 99. -Patrick
Thank you fir the explanation and run through on this video and the previous one. With the whole beast within and the other creature fighting the token you gave them, wouldn't you be able to return the creature back to your hand before he died from fighting the token?
I’m not too high on any Breakfast Hulk builds, as they’re easily disrupted... However, Razakats is a fun game plan. I wouldn’t mind compiling/discussing some of those winning loops and where they’d fit best. 🤔 -Patrick
You should do the beast within loop pre combat every time and add in Yeva, Nature's Herald to have responses to counter spells. It helps your fight through cyclonic rift, terminus, as well rakdos charm. since you can force your opponent to have double counter spell with autumn's veil
*Yeva* is nice, but equally as unnecessary as the *Beast Within* loop itself. A 4/4 for 4cmc, with an ability that doesn't help our deck's core strategy isn't worth a slot. *Terminus* is Sorcery speed, so it's not a concern (no one has Gitaxian Probe'd and Miracled or otherwise "Instant" speed that card on me, but it could happen I suppose)... Also, we're winning on *Turn 3,* so an *Overloaded Cyclonic Rift* would be impressive to see. I have never had anyone play *Rakdos Charm* on me, but Temur's ability works at instant speed: we'd simply bounce the necessary creatures to not get impaled on our own sword (why I mentioned only drawing what was necessary - same goes for "playing"). -Patrick
@@LocalGameGroup ok so Yeva allows you to respond to answers and never let them go got ya on the turn you want to win. so I run yeva for two reason and granted i am playing Marwyn not Selvala so that changes a bit and the creature type becomes a bigger deal. but in the game i won against food chain Prossh and A Kaliaa Razakats deck the Prossh player goes pact for rakdo charm to get me i bounce in response then play yeva and rebuild as i got for the beast within line the kalliaa player goes top into terminus respond by bouncing again then redeploying . and turn three overload cyclonic rift is deff hard but i have seen it done tho not often. but this line allows you to win the turn you go off almost 100% exception is fog effects but i haven't seen that and then you could just blow up there bored and then blow up a few useless creatures sculpt your hand and primal command your deck even through free counter spells. But ya it is just one weird trick another would be using primal command loops to memory jar someone without combat, i run it cus memory jar helps with my lack of card draw but it is a little to much in selvala unless u really need and alt wincon for whatever reason. Sorry I just love talking about Mono Green creature storm type decks.
Haha, you’re good. It’s really a case by case basis... Obviously, what I demo’d happened in a vacuum. I think those loops have their merits. If I see someone holding, lord knows what, before I go to swing... I’d likely Beast Within all those available mana sources prior to going in for the win. I’m excited to get some gameplay footage of this deck in action for you all! I think showcasing this deck against my local meta will help explain the choices for my particular 99. -Patrick
I like the intro a little better this time. :) The logo's dark colors and thin lines are still a little hard to see over the background, though. Adding a thin white outline throughout the whole logo should help.
Don't know if you mentioned it but Wirewood Lodge is a good card for Gaia's Cradle I know there is no real card that is legit for GC but in this deck it's pretty good
Hi, I know this video is somewhat old, but can you explain why selvala does run fetches. I cant see any straight benefit other than thinning deck since green doesnt have ponder or other selective cantrips.
With tooth and nail if the two creatures were a 16/16 and a 17\17, since they enter the battefield at the same time, would you be able to draw one or two cards? I ask this because i was wondering about how a draw would go with genesis wave.
Hey pat can you convince Erika's Originals to make you card sleeves from vintage WWII leather ammo bags jk I'm just coming from the Take Time channel to harass you

Awesome as always!!!
Plays concordent crossroads, then cast bane of progress... Just teasing, I know you would have played that differently . Great and informative video.
Luckily in my playgroup our rule is, WITHIN REASON, all mulagins are free 😅 so these hand guides really help me!
Really nice video. +1 Could you make a Oloros Ageless Ascetic commander deck?
Hmm... He would be dope. 🤔 I plan on doing a Community, Livestream brew! Perhaps he’ll be the Commander. -Patrick
Hey!! I've been looking for a competitive oloro deck tech... do you have a list I could see, or any cool cards in could put in the deck?
Hey pat, what would be a decent replacement for concordant Crossroads? I find it hard to get it in my country 😣

I would like it if you guys not only did commanders but talked about combos and decks and commanders to use them in. Like Razakats or Breakfast Hulk.

How many cards that allow for T2 Selvala do you include?

You’d Draw one Card, for the largest Creature. X Triggers would hit the Stack, but only one of those is for the largest Creature.

Nice video, bro!
Thank you, broseph -Patrick
can someone explain why Fyndhorn Elves is "Brandy"?
Very, *veryyy* loose reference and play-on-words to the song “Brandy” by Looking Glass. Brandy, you’re a Fyndhorn... 🎶
