That is just a part of accounting field. There’s a lot of careers u could choose from for being an accountant but first u have a attain a certification to advance ur competitors like CPA certification or if u want to work in finance u can choose CFA or both.
Usually management consultants are the ones who help businesses analyze the market before deciding to launch a new product. The finance people do the forecasting and analyze the time it takes to recoup the investment. And accountants really just look at historical financials after the fact.
Accountants are important for the help in the analysis of an organization or companies in business marketing to ensure the organisation/ companies achieve goals of establishments.
in fact, accounting only contains basic math such as addition, subtraction, and division (multiplying often involved in percentages) and yeah, it’s easier since we have calculators! Being good at making and organizing spreadsheets is another fundamental skill when you’re an accountant, and you also need to have knowledge about statistics and constructing presentations~
This video does not accurately reflect what Accountants do. Accountants are hired to deal with convoluted rules and to do the record keeping for people. Its not glamorous and we could not tell you whether or not you should sell markers until you've sold them for at least 5 years and demonstrated profitability or a trend toward it.
So who makes the predicitions finance majors? I don't think so as they evolve around the question on how to finance the company not necessiraly it's financial health like accountants. Also from what I hear from a lot of billlionnaires is that they wish they studied accounting because it really the "engineering of business". Also most CFO comes from accounting background. Also, CPAS tend to have serious knowledge on corporate law and fiscality, wich make them able to make very strategic financial decisions for the company.

It’s hysterical that this video is saying an accountant makes the decision on long term company trajectory. The accountant reports to the controller/comptroller. The controller reports to the CFO. The CFO makes the decision after providing his teams prepared reports and consulting with the CEO. As an accountant, you sit at a desk all day crunching and reporting numbers. They are low man on the totem pole for large corporate initiatives.

Cause' by corporate law they must wear and behave like that or else... As well when they become priavte accountants - it hust becomes a habit. Why I did not want to be part of the corporate world just go digital nomad straight away.
