I remember when all this Western Electric gear was literally being thrown out and the Japanese bought it for pennies on the dollar because the marketing departments of American audio companies were pushing the transistor. The Japanese saved the vacuum tube from extinction and the rest of us owe you so much. Today, I listen through American kit based amplification from Transcendent Sound, vacuum tube OTLs where the Cathode is directly connected to the loudspeaker terminal, sans output transformer and the sound is magic. But without the Japanese saving the Western Electric gear, tubes would have been lost.
These days transportation costs from US are so hi, that "for a penny" is only a sweet dream. I have no idea what happened to Yahoo auctions JP in EU, so they won't be available after April, but since a covid I didn't purchase a single thing in US. I preferred Japan because a shipping fee was free as a rule.
I can't help but say that even though I respect these old collectors of gear, and they're not guilty for being old, they all seem sad and nostalgic listening to this type of music... I am 54 with a leaning towards contemporary and experimental music and one day when I retire I want to build my listening room in a house with no neighbours and enjoy music as I only ever enjoy outside in clubs and gigs, from Autechre to Blood Incantation, my gear will bleed! I will not be playing lame music for elevators for sure.
Now that’s what I call a killer stereo, WE25s on top, and I assuming driven by WE594s, the bass bins are???? Maybe TA7395s or Westerex ……. Not sure but they blend seamlessly. Question, I noticed a small hole above the bass speaker (4194?), not sure I’ve seen a WE baffle with that hole, is it for a “high frequency” driver, like a Jensen 301 or ???? Still a monster setup, the delicacy and the attack even on earbuds is very noticeable

Thank got for Japanese audio culture...
Nice setup to be sure, WE25 with ??? drivers and the early Lansing bass horn, I’m sure the electrics are of similar pedigree
Fabulous sound!!!
American made quality! Compared to today’s.

Thank you for your comment, the Kanno Works Excitation Tweeter K-597 is hidden behind the small hole in the baffle.
May I know what music did gou play? Thank you.
Beautiful ❤
Simply lovely
I don't understand how he can hear the music with that mask on his face
