I’m only 21 but I remember waking up fondly as a kid on Saturday mornings and turning on to Channel 9 (we didn’t have cable) and watching cartoons or cooking shows. It’s the simple things in life. Fantastic ASMR per usual - keep up the great stories!
Born in ‘75, grew up in the 80’s. Family Ties, Silver Spoons, Growing Pains, Miami Vice, Married with Children, Knight Rider, A -Team, Who’s the Boss, Night Court, and of course my favorite of all time Cheers. Just soooo many great ones, that’s just a few that raised me, lol. Love your channel! Been watching since the beginning. Hope your mom makes a healthy and quick recovery. Stay safe.
I never missed an episode of Married with Children and I am familiar with all the shows you mentioned. I appreciate you supporting my channel and thanks so much for mentioning my mom, she is doing amazingly well...thanks for being so awesome...:)
Even though these shows were before my time, I remember watching many of them on TV Land as a kid at my grandma’s house. Fond memories to look back on. Thanks for the reminder Mark :)
I just watched this video. At 97 you are so lucky to still have your Mom. I just lost my Grandma at 88 and i am devastated, confused, and lost. She was everything to me and my heart is aching and truly broken. Cannot imagine going the rest of my life never seeing her again..
Sorry to hear that Brian, moms are so important in out lives. You are right I am lucky to still have her around. She out lived my brother and one of my sisters. My sympathy to you my friend, your mother left a huge vacancy in your life. Take care and thanks for sharing something so personal....:)
I was born in 82. I grew up on Nick at Night and Syndicated shows. Also old cartoons we rented. I absolutely loved Adam West Batman show lol. I even got a picture with him and Burt Ward!
I think this is my 4th time trying to get through the video. Start it up at night when it’s bed time and completely black out after about 10 minutes. Good video mark!
I'm in the beginning of the video, and you just mentioned your mom went into the hospital for surgery today. I wish her, and your entire family nothing but good wishes as she goes through that. You're a classic example of what our great friends from the north are like, and I'm so glad to have come across your videos. I wanted to get my best wishes and get well soon in for your mom before I fall asleep. Take care, Mark!
My favorite show used to be Kojack. When I first got into Emergency Services, I was so excited to get a “Kojack” light for my car. 😂 Hope everything went well with your Mothers surgery.
Hi Lewis, I watched a lot of Kojak also, he was a bit of a different cop back then....a tough guy who loved lollipops.....Mom is doing well, thanks so much for asking....also thanks for sharing and for tuning in...:)
Wow you mentioned so many great shows..I have the All in the Family box set...I loved Carol O' Connor....Threes company was another Fav..Tv land shows alot of the great reruns...Great ASMR video..Best wishes to your mom.she sure is a trooper!
Hi Stacey, there was a ton of shows I failed to mention and many I thought of after I finished recording. I used to watch Threes Company also, saw the first episode back in the late seventies. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend...:)
You are too cute!😂 Inside and out!😍 Your intro was adorable, "sausage and egg'n muffer" had me truly laughing out loud! Praying for your Mommy, may The Lord guide her, protect her, and help her.🙏💝 Thank you again for all that you do, for us and for your loved ones. God bless you, great video once again.👍💝🤗
Thanks so much iabwog, try saying sausage and egg muffer 500 times real quick....lol...I really appreciate your kind words and for your support of my channel...also thanks for mentioning my mom, she is doing very well,,,stay amazing my friend......:)
Hey Mark! I remember watching All in the Family on reruns in the 90’s and I loved it. So right about how that wouldn’t fly today! I also immediately think the same about Blazing Saddles! As I watched this I can’t help think of what it must be like for you to go from one black and white channel to what you’re doing today on RUclips! Simply amazing the leap with your lifetime. Thanks again for a great video.
It was different times back then for sure....Blazing Saddles was a hoot and I agree, going from one black and white channel to my own RUclips is not something I ever would have imagined back than...thanks for sharing your thoughts Speedfreely, have a great weekend...;)
I loved that show also, loved all the gadgetry and all the cool secret agent scenarios. Don Adams was born to play that role, thanks for sharing and have a great weekend Kuro.....;)
Mark, lovely as always❤ I am an elder millennial cinema and TV nut! I grew up watching tons of syndicated shows and have seen most of what you mentioned. I recently took television classes at my local college with a 3 camera studio so I directed a scene from Frasier, Rhoda and finally Alice! My Alice shoot went over really well, those scripts were done by the I❤Lucy writers so the comedy still landed with the kiddos in my class😂 Always a pleasure, I'm a photographer too so I love when you share pics, but you usually lull me to sleep, I have to go back and rewatch. Love from Los Angeles. P.S. I got to meet Barbara Eden and was so excited since my name is Jeannie and she signed my book from Jeannie 😂
Wow, you impress me Jeannie and thank you for sharing this. The thing I struggle with the most in my videos is the lighting, especially my cooking channel Mark's Easy Kitchen. I wished you lived up the street, I could really pick your brain. You sound very talented but the best part is you seem to love what you do and are good at it. Thanks so much for supporting my channel and keep up the good work, have a great weekend my friend...Loved I dream of Genie, was one of my faves.....:)
Thanks so much Sherrie, you are very sweet. I loved a lot of those old shows and I still watch some of them on MeTV. Thanks for tuning in and stay cool my friend...:)
Wonderful video, Mark. I was born in 79, however many if not all of the shows you mentioned I have watched as well over the years. Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle, so many more. By now it's probably been a while since your mother was in the hospital, but I hope everything went well, and please keep us all updated friend. Thanks so much for some insight into your awesome life, AS ALWAYS!
Hey Lloyd, you are the best my friend, thanks for mentioning mom, she is doing very well...I still watch those shows you mentioned on MeTV....thanks for tuning in...have a great Weekend Lloyd...;)
There is most likely not one person on here who did not enjoy the Joy of Painting.....Dean Stockwell was good in Quantum leap...thanks for tuning in Shawn and for sharing....;)
Great video Mark. Growing up in the 70's and early 80's in the UK it was all American shows that I loved, particularly the theme tunes!! I loved American composer Mike Post who did the likes of Hill Street Blues and Magnum's music and it was those vibes that made me seek a career in media composing. Fred Gwynne off the Munsters always fascinated me, even later in life when he played the brilliant judge in the My Cousin Vinny, film. Good memories and an awesome , calming video as always my friend, thank you so much for sharing. And I hope your mam is doing great :)
Fred Gwynne, I think I was close...I loved him in My Cousin Vinny, his last role I believe. Sounds like you made an interesting career choice Glenn...thanks for sharing and for tuning in....have a great weekend...:)
Mom is doing very well, taking her for a follow up on the 24th...thanks for mentioning her and the breakfast was quite good...have a great weekend my friend.....:)

A&W gets 20 lashes with a wet noodle for forgetting your bacon 🥓 on your sandwich 🥪. White light going out to mom for a speedy recovery. W-O-W ~ 97 yrs young, - bless her! Raymond Burr starring as Perry Mason, my mom's favorite. I'm a cartoon kid too! P.S. Dick Van Dyke's brother was Jerry Van Dyke, I believe.
Yes my friend you were right about Jerry Van Dyke, just an old age brain fart I suppose. Thanks so much for your kind words about my mom, she is doing great. Thanks for tuning in and hope you have a great weekend....;)
What you talkin bout Willis? Hey Mark , enjoyed the video. We didn't get all of those shows. Some of my favourite detective shows were Cannon , Kojak , ( who loves ya baby ? ) and Starsky and Hutch. The latter was on at 9pm. on a Friday night and after it was the horror double bill , mostly Hammer films. We were allowed to stop up. If you liked The Munsters , have you seen Carry On Screaming. You may not get the Carry On films.......British humour. Ah , the memories. Hope your Mum goes on alright Mark , she sounds like a diamond. Take care my friend ATB Tony.
I remember the Carry on Gang very well, loved their comedy...I also loved Canon, Kojak, Manix and Columbo....used to watch all that stuff...thanks for sharing and for reminding me of so many that I did not mention...also thanks for tuning in Tony...:)
My favorite show back in the day was All in the Family. Though politically incorrect, it still had its moments. Also Liked Knight Rider and a whole host of others.
I live in Canada my friend, Vancouver Island to be exact. I have never been to San Diego but I hear they have an amazing zoo if that is your thing. Thanks for tuning in Tobiask, enjoy your weekend...;)
Yes for sure, a lot of the care aids and nurses watched that when I was still working a few years back...and Greys Anatomy....thanks for tuning in my friend....:)
Born in 89 but TV land was a thing by the time I was old enough to watch TV. I remember watching reruns of I dream of Jeannie, I love Lucy and the Munsters. Loved all those old shows but my favorite was and still is a cartoon that ran until like 1996, called Rockos Modern Life. It was so disgusting and covertly depraved. So much adult humor and innuendo. Same creator and a lot of the same voice actors that would go on to make SpongeBob.
Never heard of that so I will have to google it to see if I can find a snippet on You tube or something. Thanks for sharing and for watching, this was interesting.....:)
I watched a lot of night court....many years ago a lot of people thought I looked like Dan Fielding so some of my co workers called me Dan....lol...loved that show...thanks for sharing and for watching....:)
Mark, I gotta be honest... I'm in no shape to enjoy this. I just got done with a 55-hour week, cutting meat. I'm beat. I've tried three times to check this out. Fell fast asleep every time. Not just dozing off, either. I was out.
