You actualy thought of a brilaint concept of testing escooters on hill.. Goodone, i was holding a booking of ola since last year but was waiting for something as you tested today. Saved my bucks.
Ola has so many flaws that at this point it is reasonable to spend extra and get Ather a complete electric scooter than an unreliable scooter of Ola

For all saying biased and should have been tested on hyper,Ola S1 pro has serious heating issues and won't go along I faced similar problem and brakes are there to apply if it will cut power on such steep climb,this is a accident hazard.Also heating issue is there in heavy traffic.

Mast sirji sahi testing ki hai, this happens mainly due to cutting of power when you apply breaks. Ola is just another Chinese controller vehicle with good look and feel. Ye to ho na hi tha. I personally like Chetak as it changes modes automatically and without any hitech bells and whistles
Ola has acquired etergo an Amsterdam based company that designed evs for its climate. It is not made for Indian climate. Now ola is making their evs with the original design which is Dutch engineered. They don't require active cooling like the evs in India do.

I rode the Pure EV Epluto 7g, singles from Mumbai to Lonavla. Charged it once at Khopoli before the ghats started. I am 120kgs. The 7G was on mode 1, and I was shocked with the ease with which it took me up the ghats on mode 1. There were fuel cars struggling on the old Khandala Ghat, but the 7g was gliding easily.

Muihe yehi dekhna tha as I am from NE India so hill climb ability is very important for me. Disappointing to see ola fail. Not bad on ather and i loved the auto shift to sports on chetak. I guess for hilly area only safe bet will be Ather. Great job boss 👍🏻✌🏻❤

Don't use brake, instead utilize regen of the electric motor to slow down.

Bhai I bought bajaj chetak 2 months ago and travel more 5000km. every day we almost 70 to 90 km and no issue of hill riding it will easy ride hill with double sit also. So my experience awesome except bike slip ratio high when we applied break simultaneously

Nice video..but ola should have been tested in the hyper mode since ather was in warp. I have climbed up khandala ghat smoothly using ather with 70KG pillion on sports mode. No drag/ heating issues.😊

Love the comparison, I can say Chetak is overall better as compared to Ather. Oct automatically changes it's mode to Sports when it feels it needs more power👍. Where as in Ather, we have to manually change it to sports mode to reach the spot👎

There is a behavioral change in OLA. The problem is we are not used to of engine cut off when applied break. That's a issue but we get used to of it. And good news is at the end of April OlA will have a update in which Hill Hold feature will be added then only it will be able to sove this problem. But to be honest I am driving OLA s1 pro from last couple of weeks and I have tried on very incline road of Nahargarh Fort Jaipur, My ride was super smooth, even I should say best 2 wheeler.

Why ola has given all features to select to eco mode when heating but not changing to hyper or sports when climbing?This is a serious issue ,also brakes are the worst part.

@@haroonpaul1997 Then keep riding in hyper. Or ride a petrol bike till you get a better option in electric. It's initial stage of this technology. And even in future there will always be exceptions. Just like there are some hilly paths where no vehicles and only horses take you there if you don't want to walk the steeps.
Ola S1 pro does have problems while climing hills or steep ramps or flyovers because of the engine stalling when break is hit. That's a non-sense feature. Hopefully they can fix this in software upgrades soon. Holding the breaks lightly while climbing steep roads and taking a turn is a common habit and intuitive too. But Ola for some reason cuts off the power to engine completely.

Some misleading info on Ola. I am from pune and I did saswad ghat/Divey Ghat on OlaS1, 153 kgs total weight of rider & pillion. On incline, normal mode achieved speed of 45-48 max and on sports mode achieved speed of 55-58 km's max. This I did on the second day when I got delivery of scooter. I first climbed at normal mode without stopping at bottom of ghat, stopped midway and then on sports mode climbed the rest. Did not find any performance lag. I agree if one stops at an incline then it will not climb in normal mode with two ppl, but in sports mode there was no lag. S1 does not have hyper mode so cannot comment on that. You must be aware that all automobile companies do rigorous testing of vehicle in all conditions before the final launch.

Like the video, I am from Pune, seen chetak on hill area many times but first time saw feedback of other two from your video. Ola is good for flat area but in Pune everywhere small hills up down are there. Ather and chetak need to improve there range.

Ola might go bankrupt till then, Ola are applying the customer aquistion model on manufacturing industry and built a facotry to produce 1 crore ev scooters without having a product, with no R&D and future product lines they will fail.

I commented this on other Ola/Ather compare video - 👉🏻 "First mode, 2nd mode, and 3rd mode are the limit settings given by the company for safety, power saving and effeciency. They should not be compared for speed winning. They can be changed easily through software settings. If a bike goes faster than it should be, even in first or 2nd mode, then it is the failure done for the purpose of customer appeasing. Real test is about speed at the top mode, stopping effeciency at brake, pickup effeciency while carrying two heavy people and riding steep hills without the feel of dragging"👈🏻.
And you did the exact test correctly. You really exposed it.
It seems like, Ola is appeasing customers by making fool out of them by impressing them with more speed setting in 1st mode (through other secretly sponsored videos). There is no torque in it which showed clearly here.
He tested ather with wrap mode and should have tested ola with its powerful hyper mode

Anyway you can't escape from the heating issue bro. An old owner from Telangana posted a video on the hill climbing of ola. If the ola scooter is in hyper mode and driving in hill, within seconds the heat issue will kick in.

Ola should change its battery pack casing from plastic to alluminium for better cooling.

You are right. If we apply break then how it will climb. BUT there are many chances flyover on climb when you break and move and some times traffic on climb flyover as well so in this case if power cut then it will make you shame. I am also worried bcs I just booked the ola on 17th

Ather one of the best ev for Indian road. They have tested this vehicle on all Indian road conditions before launch. Still they are improving the experience of vehicle.
Ola has to test their vehicle on Indian roads. A long way ahead for them to launch successful vehicle.
Chetak has Bosch engine and battery, may be quite expensive for repair and replacement.

Chetak has to be serviced once in a year it's servicing cost comes up around 1200-1500, ather on the after every 5000 kms,

It's not that EV's are underpowered in general but just this one is.
I mean look at Tesla... A 60000 dollar Tesla rivals 2+ million dollar buggati in acceleration and torque.
Ola had the money and resources if they had put the time in R&D instead of crunching the deadline to just shove out a battery and motor on two wheels they could have made a great vehicle.

It sure beats buggati in acceleration but not in torque, electric vehicles have electric motors not engines so torque can't be there in the scene, but the torque that tesla advertises is the torque produced by wheels, so basically they compare apple with oranges engine torque and wheels torque are two different things, besides these aren't the only things you should keep in mind while comparing two vehicles, teslas build quality is dumb af looking at the hefty price they are charging to customers. Also coming back to the outrageous torque which the company advertises which may i remind you again is the wheel torque is still less than the wheel torque for buggati. Also about acceleration, acceleration can win you a 100m drag race, it can never meat the level of buggatis gear transmission which helps it to become one of the fastest cars on the planet (other one being koneigsegg not tesla 🤣).
Today taken Test drive to one of the most toughest slope of dehradun..the police station Rajpura ...to my surprise it did it where activa Couldn't.
The only reason to what is happening in this video is that everytime you accelerate it, you forget to release the brakes just like how we do in any other Petrol bike in a fear that it might go down. This will further cut off the power supply and becomes even more challenging to steep ahead. Do not apply brakes while accelerating it and ola won't disappoint you.🙏

@@aroramax9 first ask him to use bro, i use hyper more than normal mode and mine got delivered in December and till now I never faced heating issue with hyper.

Sir, My biggest doubt is you shifted Ather to warp mode when it was struggling to climb the hill and you kept Ola in sports mode and this doesn’t make any sense. It would have been more clear if you would have tested Ola too in top mode(Hyper). But yeah you are right Ola has Hill climb issues.

Once you stop Ola on hills, and apply break and accelerator same time it wont work. No matter which mode you ride. Break lagaya accelerator cut off hota hai.

Mein ne Mussoorie road pe with 150kg (double) chalayi hai on a normal ola mode. Aram se chal jati hai. He dont know how to handle it well.
