My coming out story was very different mainly because I kept quiet for many years
when I finally told my Mum at 30 she said "well you will have to move out and you cant come round anymore"
I said you don't understand and she said "I dont want to understand"
I was treated as an outcast and i kept quiet for another 25 years and fell back in line
I came out again about 3 years ago after my Mum has passed away and now I dont care what my family thinks now
but I found that they are far more accepting now than they were
I told my Dad last Christmas and his response was "still love you anyway" not what i expected to hear but sounds hopeful
Throughout my whole life I have left clues everywhere and it did not come as a surprise the 2nd time i came out

You're story is very funny. If I had come out at a young age, I probably would've been just as awkward cause I was a weird kid.
At 30 I'm still awkward and my coming out to my dad was awkward for me. I dread coming out to my mom cause she'll likely be less accepting.

Steph: I used the same exact line "I have been diagnosed as being gender dysphoric" to my wife earlier this year and she abandoned me.
OMG, I couldn't believe it when you mentioned the same line.
I am now looking into HRT at 67 years old and researching what will the insurance will cover.

Oh my gosh how strange that we used the exact same line, I wonder if its a common occupancy in the Trans community?

If I had known as an adolescent that I could have gone on puberty blockers followed by HRT and transitioned so early, I'd have done it already. Here I am, 34 years old, and now two and a half months on titty skittles. I came out last year, first to a nurse practitioner and then to my mom. I then told my primary doctor, who referred me to a bunch of specialists. Found a gender therapist that way, and that therapist referred me to an endocrinologist. This past July, I finally saw the endocrinologist (originally scheduled for March but then COVID happened). She ordered blood work to check my hormone levels, then prescribed me estradiol and spironolactone. And now I'm finally transitioning. All I have to do now is get laser hair removal (tried using an IPL device but I don't think it's working), do the name/sex marker change, upgrade my wardrobe beyond underwear (made some progress on it recently), and eventually have bottom surgery. I always knew I was a girl born in the wrong body. I just hid it for so long and got tired of lying to the world.

You have such beautiful eyes! Thank you for putting this content out here. There are so many people who are afraid to go to counseling or anything and really need to hear the experiences of others. This is my first time watching one of your videos. I will definitely be watching more.

My god, I have missed the last few videos due to my horrible schedule. Vacation and work is hard to manage!
Such a great story. Even though it was rough for you to go through, I would have been happy if I could have been as strong as you. Yours would have been my ideal situation as so many of your early experiences mirror mine, except I was not able to share any of my feelings with anyone. It was the early 80s. The language may have existed, but I did not know it and was too scared to ask. Needless to say I spent my whole adult life faking everything and compensating and hiding pain with drink and drugs before realizing a few years ago that my whole life has been a sham. Coming to terms with who I am now is a chore, but at least i can live life on my terms now.
I'm always happy to hear when younger people get the chance to be who they need to be, as I didn't and I know what that can do to a person. Love your channel. love the stories. Thanks so much for helping so many people. You are an inspiration. 💙💙💙

Hi Stephanie. If I may ask a slightly personal question, please? How is your relationship with your sister now? I ask because of my own relationship breakdown with 2 of my siblings. Granted, our relationships were already very rocky and full of tension and distrust. However, since initially coming out to them about a year ago, things have went from bad to so much worse. To the point where, after a lot of heartfelt consideration, I have completely cut them out of my life. I will always hope for the day when we can all just simply be a family again. But, in my heart of hearts, I don't ever see it happening, unfortunately. 💔
Thank you for your openness in your vids, hun. You really do help people. x

So for a long long time there was a period where I wanted to walk away from my entire family. I chose to distance myself but remain part of it and truthfully its the best thing I ever did and then as I matured my sister and I found a way to have an adult relationship and now we are in a really good place! I’m so sorry you’ve experienced difficulties with your family but time although it may not heal all wounds certainly softens them and the scars fade and I’m sure you will be able to have some level of a relationship with them even if its from afar like mine! Thanks for watching! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! Have an amazing day! x
