My Mom has this washer. It is from 2007. I think this was the first Maytag made after the Whirlpool takeover. Those direct drive washers really get after it!
I believe they're labeled centennials now. Or at least they were later on. It's really a rebadged whirlpool direct drive. At least whirlpool saved maytag.
Great video. I find it so interesting that this is the same wash / spin / timing / Etc. of the original Whirlpool design 10 years before this "Maytag" brand appeared. Great design for a washer. I just hope the "Maytag" brand did not bring "Maytag" prices. It is truly the same machine from the beginning of the Whirlpool direct drive machines.
I have this, first the normal cycle wouldn't shut off years ago so don't use it now it has a burning smell. I bought it used so am curious how old the Legacy models are and should I bother getting it fixed or buy a new machine. Sigh, my old Maytag lasted 20 years. Haven't had this half that time.
Maytag had well-built machines, including the Pittman Transmission Dependable Care, the Orbital Transmission Dependable Care, the Performa with the Herrin Transmission after purchasing Norge, and the Centennial Direct Drives after the Maytag-Whirlpool merge until the late 2010? I think.
Now this is my favorite machine. I would like to know where you baught it, white model number is it? and how much did it cost it looks and sounds perect. keep on doing more videos. I want a video of it washing a meduim load and a small load if possible. thanks.
hi this is mikey, and I have autism and I really love to watch washing machines, so do you know somebody that has a old design 2000 whirlpool washing machine?
Yeah, no, yours is not a Legacy Series top loader. I have a 3.2 Stainless steel 17 cycle Legacy Series which does a full load in just 20 minutes... and a gas dryer to match. Top of the line with buzzers, drying rack, all cycles, Senso-dry ™, and both have a Turquoise control panel which is absolutely space-age technology! Yours is a piece of junk! Noisy, too small, overloaded, too! Thank you Home Depot! Mrs. Lee, Mn.
Sharon Fluegel you are referring to the 1960's Maytags, this one just happens to mimic the style of control panel that Maytag had during that time. Also this machine isn't junk as it will last 15 years EASILY with no repairs.

I use to have that top load washer when I was like 1 or 2 years old but now we do not have it anymore because it won’t spin

Bang-on, in fact this is a badge engineered whirlpool.
@@amberlynn6914 At least Whirlpool and Maytag knew each other.

We have the same agitator in our Maytag Centennial Washer but I like this Washer better than the Centennial
To answer everyone's questions I believe this machine was made right around 2007
is it a belt drive?
This is direct drive.

Back when Maytag/Whirlpool made GOOD Machines

Lets get it, there's an end of cycle signal knob. :)
but why didn't you turn it on tho? :(
Maytag direct drive washers are interesting

And now Maytag exists as nothing more than a name. The company itself was bought by Whirlpool who then closed the Maytag plant in Newton, Iowa.
Looks pretty
Does the washer keep banging or will it shut off if it is unbalanced?
That's not a real Maytag because a real Maytag would spin-drain counterclockwise.
later Maytag models (including a few years before taken over by Whirlpool) had a clockwise spin
Joseph Heston I was just going say that. It's not a maytag without the classic spin drain.
This is a whirltag washing machine
Why in the normal cycle does it step down from high to low agitation?
Some washers did that unless you had a speed control knob like I used to had
Ryan Roth
Who really thinks the new top load washers that use an impeller instead of an agitator can really clean as good as this?
not me, u need water and an agitator, none of that he impeller bullshit
Not me. HE machines even with an agitator can't clean anywhere near this.
I disagree!
Maytag Commercial washer: the best, lower priced substitute for a Speed Queen.
4:19 something is wrong. Clothes shouldn't be sitting still. Overloaded wash.
Learning as I go very overloaded!
@@petermaz701 I agree!
what year of the washing machine and dryer?
When was this made?
2007

Whirlpoolz you’re right about this machine NOT being junk. But lasting 15 years, the way this person is overloading it, I doubt it?
