Pinkards book "German Philosophy 1760-1860" is one of the best books I've ever read. His explanations of Kant and Hegel are the most lucid accounts I have come across. I highly recommend it to all the people that enjoyed this video.
Thanks for this, fellas. After having my review of Thomas Manne’s ‘In the Long Run We are All Dead’-in which he claims that Hegel was a sort of proto-Keynesian anti-revolutionary top-down reformist-edited to within an inch of its life by Arena magazine, it’s good to hear that I’m not necessarily going crazy.
@Grammarchist Haha, thank you! ❤️ MGS2 actually introduced me to Michael Perelman and his book "Class Warfare in the Information Age", which became part of my gateway into Marx and eventually Hegel.

I wonder if he knew professor Mackey while he was professor in Texas... I know his daughter she is a beautiful person.
Nice. I liked his book on Sartre
“Self conscious life” perhaps doesn’t grasp the historical and transindividual character of Geist, as perhaps “spirit” implicitly does.
Great interview Doug! Are you going to be posting the Zizek question you mentioned at the end?

Pinkard looks exactly like the Roman Emperor Nerva.
We need to get Miles Mathis to investigate this!
International communism. Please tell us more.
