Pinkards book "German Philosophy 1760-1860" is one of the best books I've ever read. His explanations of Kant and Hegel are the most lucid accounts I have come across. I highly recommend it to all the people that enjoyed this video.

Thanks for this, fellas. After having my review of Thomas Manne’s ‘In the Long Run We are All Dead’-in which he claims that Hegel was a sort of proto-Keynesian anti-revolutionary top-down reformist-edited to within an inch of its life by Arena magazine, it’s good to hear that I’m not necessarily going crazy.

I wonder if he knew professor Mackey while he was professor in Texas... I know his daughter she is a beautiful person.

“Self conscious life” perhaps doesn’t grasp the historical and transindividual character of Geist, as perhaps “spirit” implicitly does.

@Grammarchist Haha, thank you! ❤️ MGS2 actually introduced me to Michael Perelman and his book "Class Warfare in the Information Age", which became part of my gateway into Marx and eventually Hegel.
