Chasing after perfection, chasing after what was right in front of me. And then he looks at Sam, his son. But Sam doesn't see that, he thinks his Father means the grid. So powerful.
@@DanielSadjadian looks like the FTC ruled around May 9, 1985 that it was going to open up parts of the ISM radio bands for unlicensed use. Presumably he would have been toying with the idea of using parts of the radio spectrum for digital devices to talk to each other, which was eventually standardized into IEEE 802.11 on the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. The name “Wi-Fi” came along around 1999. I always loved the line and thought it was a throwaway gag, but hey… gotta give them credit for those little Easter eggs!
He kinda really wasn't until he decided to take control. Board members were there and a huge part of it (like Batman). I don't think he was in the wrong, he just saw his father and learned a lesson to make a difference instead of doing stunts.
This movie is one of my all time favourites! The plot with all the bible allegories, the iconic characters and of cause the outstanding soundtrack (which is on my daily car playlist) make this movie unique. If you watch/hear it with surround sound it is almost a mind altering experience. I LOVE THIS MOVIE.
SAME. The hate or general dislike toward this movie baffles me. But maybe i'm blinded by an extreme case of bias considering my room is designed and painted in legacy light patterns, the first detailed thing i learned to draw from memory was a Light Cycle, and all i ever did way back in 7 and 8th grade was work on a Tron spin off comic and listen to the soundtrack on repeat..Even got to shake Tron's hand at comic con, almost dropped on the spot.. Sad that so few people gave this cinematic gem the attention it truly deserved.
Just wanted to write this I did not really have a father - parents were divorsed and then he died when I was 13. I never had a connection with him. When I watched the way Flynn was talking with his son about his bike, it hit me. This is what I was missing. Small talks, bikerings, friendly fights, playing and tugging each other like that. It hit me like hell, and now I'm crying and laughing at the same time. I know it's weird leaving such a comment under a clip from a movie about computer games but it just hit me deep and it came from nowhere. So thanks to everyone involved.
Hey Max, I hope you are doing great. I just saw your comment and wanted to let you know that it's okay. Everyone suffers the loss of a loved one at some point in their lives but being able to push through and move on is what makes us both strong and human. You have a bright future ahead of you :)
Flynn knew all along that he was not going to be able to leave The Grid. His look at 2:22 shows his despair. He needed to reintegrate CLU to save them in the end.
What a father wouldn't do to protect those he cares for the most. He may have been missing for decades, but in the end he did what any good father would do: Ensure that his son lives to have a better life.
Love this 1:28 part for how contrast the thought between them of the grid. The son was so amazed of his dad amazing creation and probably thought if he could (or couldn't) ever top his father achievement while the father expressing he would trade all this wonderful creation of him to be with the son even if it only valued a merely single day, like the achievement was nothing to him.
It's so gripping, to think, Kevin Flynn started out as this down-on-his-luck hacker who got swindled out of his rightful money; he arrives in the digital world as a hero and saves the system from the MCP. Then in this movie, he has become something akin to a creator-god to the people of the new system... and yet, he remains completely human in his demeanor and interactions.
"Look too hard for one thing, and you miss everything else. And then, the people around you get hurt in the process. Like Xehanort. His single-minded thirst for answers created Ansem. We all have a little of that curiosity within us... So if we're not careful, any one of us could create an Ansem."
If Sam got to talk to Kevin a little longer about what's been going on in the real world since he's been gone, imagine if this was said... Kevin: What else happened? Sam: Well... they 3 more Star Wars movies. Kevin: What?! I thought that story was done, man! Sam: They made a prequel trilogy showing how Obi-Wan Kenobi became Anakin Skywalker. How Anakin became Darth Vader. When Luke and Leia were born. How C3PO and R2-D2 met. Kevin: How good are these prequels? Sam: Eh, they're okay. Not the best though. Special effects have improved though. But it's definitely not compared to what I've seen here.
I know many will disagree with me on this, but this scene is my favorite part in the whole movie. Everything about it: the scenery, the cinematography, the music, the dialogue, the story, it’s so touchy and emotional. This is the pinnacle of emotion in a sci-fi action movie, well done Disney 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Poor Kevin Flynn lost his parents over the 2 decades he's been trapped in the grid his parents must have been really upset and worried about him through all those remain years they were alive before their passing away they really wanted to see their son one last time before they passed away but never got the chance after when Kevin discovered their deaths he probably wish he was there for both their last moments and the funeral services as well but in case there's an after life in the Tron universe at least he's probably with them now along with his long lost wife Jordon as well right guys.

Beautiful observation.
@@nowherewolfe And 100% spot on.
When he said "I thought of that in 85" on WiFi tech, the precursor technology that leads to WiFi did begin in 1985.
Oh fascinating. What was the precursor tech called?

This is perfect Father’s Day movie
You can’t change my mind
Yeah, perfect for Kevin learning his dad is dead, then Sam's dad dying. Very great for Fathers Day.

Saw the original when I was 12. Being a dad now, the ending of this movie simply destroys me.
My father has had cancer twice and just hear some of those words means a lot. Don't knock on the sky too early, old man.

Basically he's the persona of that song "What if God was one of us?"
Flynn invented the wifi
Shit brings tears to my eyes, from the music ... to the emotion I feel and conversation
