    Those side ports might be for getting oil into the ring grooves in the piston

      It serves a few purposes that is 1 another is relieving pressure during the stroke

    My big red runs around 190 to 220. In 80% weather which is our normal temp during summer. 90% tops..very cool running engine

    Great info bro.. I love my big red. The pullstart stripped on me during first break in..in a savage25 you can't get to the rear spin start. Which is what got me to start modifying mine. But amain warrantied it right away... now I preheat always and mostly use the spin roto start option.. but the pull starter can be used after. Mine starts right up after preheat. I coukd breath on it. It starts..lol I've never taken mine apart. But it was set way to rich to run. I use an os8 in MIne now. Just over a gallon through it now. Can't wait for spring..it's a tourqe monster for sure. I will get a different engine eventually just to try out a different engine. Maybe some .32 lrp or something. 😎

      Mine has stretched chassis xl length and alluminum rear shock tower and rear alluminum bulkhead frees up space in center for that spin start..mint now

      Yeah pulling it apart I bet it's a monster I'm wanting to buy one for myself as soon I can

    Upside is you and get a SH 28P8 piston and sleeve as a nice upgrade for cheap. 😉

      Ya my buddy contacted tower and got a free p&s set. They took care of it which I think is amazing of them

      @@Nitro_rc_life they are good for that. I find the SH or LRP pull starter to be better quality than the set up on the big red. Sounds weird being they are all made in the same factory by SH haha

    What type of roto starter can you use with the Big Red? Does the HPI Savage or the Losi LST’s work?

    • @Nitro_rc_life
      @Nitro_rc_life  3 месяца назад

      We are trying to figure this out aswell. Of course it depends which truck you install it on I am thinking for the savage the habao roto plate might fit

      @@Nitro_rc_life Ok, I’ll keep an eye on your Channel for updates. Thanks.
      Both by Savage X 4.6 and Savage 25 engine’s are in great shape. I’m looking down the line in case something were to ever happen to them or if I just get bored and want to drop the Big Red in😂

      @williamoleary9330 big red has amazing power for a SH based engine if you can afford it I would just do it. You will have a better time with the more power

      The hpi 4.1 rotor starter works on the Dynamite .19 engine.

    Those pull starts for the big red are always going to break. I use tiger drive....no problem.

      Ya you would think they would use a better string fir it but atleast it's a pull/spin combo

      Which part number ?

    • @Nitro_rc_life
      @Nitro_rc_life  14 дней назад +1

      The big red uses a internal one way bearing so it's the internal tigerdrive
