I'm here to tell you. I was born in 1969 and I've been through the ladder half of the 80s and on, on my own, and life was not as expensive as it is today and still struggled back then. Working as a carpenter, car sales, furniture sales working 50 to 60 hours a week. The minimum wage in the 80s was $3 to $3.75 an hour. I was making $7/hr. My full coverage car insurance was $320/mo., rent for one B.R. was $425/mo.. I was struggling back then. Many were. So, today is just like then pretty much. Don't decieve yourself thinking it gets better because it don't.
My first job was $3.15 an hour. Been an electrician for 35 years and still struggle! My wife and I both have 20 year old vehicles that I wrench on weekly.

When I was in my 20's I had my daughter at 24 and was making 18 a hr and had 3 bedroom house with 2 bathrooms and a full size basement. I was paying 450 a month for my place. I don't believe in any of this "April the 8th controversy," but I kid you not, I literally had a dream last night about demons. I slayed two, and then went on to destroy another three. The part of my life that could maybe be considered selfish was to make sure to create myself to become a good, independent, loving, caring, smart, nurturing woman, so that I could guide as the best nurturing, loving mother that i could be. I had a partial hysterectomy at 12y/o. They said I'd never have children. I have 1 son, & 1 daughter, also now 1 granddaughter. There's no love in this world like the unconditional love I have for my children. I remember both of those n lived in Maryland for all 3(1994,2017 n 4/8/24) n I don’t remember a State Of Emergency. I was in 4th grade for the one in ‘94 n they let us go out on the playground n had to wear sunglasses or we were told we just couldn’t look directly at it with our bare eyes. The one in 2017 may daughter was a baby n had this special piece of rectangular glass from a welder’s shield w/gold paper over it that we could look through to look right at it n he had the same thing the other day (4/8/24).

For the eclipse situation - I was also very curious as to why there are so many state of emergencies being called. And I'm not diminishing the fact that the government loves to never let a good crisis go to waste. But I digress. For the surface level info - the SOE are because the cities/towns where the eclipse will be completely covered can be very small and to have 100,000+ extra people coming to your town, they are worried that they won't have enough stock on the shelves or gas at the gas station to accommodate for all these extra people all at once. They are declaring a state of emergency BEFORE people start dying. Literally, tens of thousands of people are heading to stay along the path of totality, to tiny towns that simply do not have the infrastructure or resources to house, feed or cate for them. There is not enough bathrooms, not enough food, not enough water, not enough space, not enough police and medical services and not enough gasoline to safely care for that many people suddenly inundating the areas along the path of totality. It is not something that needs more drama.

When they originally ran tests around 2012 everyone thought 2012 was the end of the world, and since is has been blamed as the root of the Mandala Effect (a timeline that split off etc). They even have pics of the particle collisions and the Higgs Boson particle (the God Particle) is here sometimes, and then it blinks out of our reality, essentially proving extra dimensions.
