On this episode of Restored, we rescue a 1959 Cadillac DeVille that we pulled straight out of a barn, with hopes of getting it back on the road where it belongs. Instead of filling this video with music and constant dialogue, we give you an oddly satisfying look at what it really takes to bring this classic back to life. By showing the full step-by-step process, we've kept all the natural sounds and cut out the extra hype and fluff to give you an everyday mechanic's point of view. So, sit back and enjoy this relaxing video as we reveal the ultimate transformation of this 1959 Cadillac DeVille - no talking, just working.

Un subscribed. If they care enough to respond to everyone about this, I will consider re subbing. But the fact that they are only giving likes to positive comments tells me they dont gaf.

Before turning the motor over i would have drained the oil. Pull the plugs and fill the crankcase with diesel and cylinders till its over flowing and let it soak for a month. Then slowly turn it by hand. Would have had a chance of saving the motor.

If you were buying a car like this to restore, yes, by all means wash it and do all that. But if your in the business of digging these old cars out, getting them started and showing everyone that this is a keeper to be able to it sell off. These guys do it just right. These guys don't pull cars and trucks outta the thickets to rebuild and go to the drive in together to watch Grease on the big screen while they eat greasy french fries. They have an hour of work to show us how this car is a runner. This one....->was amazing!

Never trust an ice scraper!!! Defrost and use a real rubber blade squeegee remove snow loads....I drive fast in no mans land interstates and my windshields can't have anything. scratches, cracks, pitting or anything obscures my vision.

I just absolutely hate it when people represent themselves as Christian and then try to pull crap like this off to an entire group of people that know what they’re looking at. It’s just frustrating. I knew they were the reason I stopped watching these guys a while back. Can’t remember what it was but same kind of weird. Something was going on. I remember when they first started the show all of a sudden it was gone, and then they had some kind of an announcement about why they went their separate ways with the young kid that was filming.

@jennfaire8726 they did, they get paid well for this. Do some research. If youve ever seen a barn find you would know this is pure staged garbage.

@edgarsox230Yeah just like in Hollywood getting paid. 😂 I mean really who cares, every car show is edited. The car had oil and dust on it. Does it bother you that much. What are you the You Tube police. Don't watch it then. Staged and they made millions 😂😂😂

@billfletcher9118 yes, Bill, I’m an 81-year-old lady who loves to watch the show and listen to them talk to each other and explain what they’re doing. I would walk out of the movie if it didn’t have dialogue. I would not want to be at a get together where people didn’t talk. I like the interaction between father and son. So I skipped to the end To see if they get it running.

This was cool watching you guys do this. I grew up in a junkyard in the early 1970s through the 80s and I’ve worked on stuff like that and watching you guys getting that stuck valve unstuck . You know the sad part is mechanics of today came not work on that car because they can’t plug the scanner up to it. Because you have to think everything out.

I bought a 1959 Cadillac from a dealership in 1977 and paid $300 for it, it ran great and the body was in excellent shape. It was jet black and real eye candy. A fellow stopped by my house a couple months later and offered me enough money for it that I bought a newer Monte Carlo, I wish I would have hung on to it.

About the aging most likely hershey's cocoa powder.....its used all the time to age wardrobe , windiw sills, vehicles etc. You want to add a little baby powder to lighten it up. Dirt was most likely added after the cocoa was laid down. The duster should be used from overhead. You can spritz water or spray Pam vegetable oil to help it stick. But always work from the top down and just dust the top edges. Folks that are used to painting cars will tend to spray flat.

Turn on the subtitles - personally I prefer this format with no talking. Simon Fordman has been doing it this way too over on his channel forever and its wonderful. Nothing more annoying than waffling on about todays sponsor or some tool-kit for half an hour. Just straight into the work and the sounds of wrenches etc... Each to their own I guess. For example, I like junkyard digs too but man do those guys waffle on and on and on and on...
