On this episode of Restored, we rescue a 1959 Cadillac DeVille that we pulled straight out of a barn, with hopes of getting it back on the road where it belongs. Instead of filling this video with music and constant dialogue, we give you an oddly satisfying look at what it really takes to bring this classic back to life. By showing the full step-by-step process, we've kept all the natural sounds and cut out the extra hype and fluff to give you an everyday mechanic's point of view. So, sit back and enjoy this relaxing video as we reveal the ultimate transformation of this 1959 Cadillac DeVille - no talking, just working.

Why don’t you guys talk in the video. But we can only understand what you’re saying with subtitles.
One more of the no talking videos and I am unsubscribing. Listening to the dialog between father and son is half of the joy of your videos, and without it, it's not worth it to me.
Sorry not the same! I enjoy listening not reading! If I want to read I'll pick up a book- catch the ones I can hear ❤️
@todddenio3200I feel the same way! It's just not the same
That's wack as crap! Turn on cc...ain't nobody else playing this silent movie on their viewers! Do you charge if we comment too ???
I suspect a lot more work was done on the video than the car.
For sure.. I hope they changed all the fluids.
Watch a Simon Fordman video to see the pinnacle..
Lol, you're😊 so right
IA ?
That dirt wasn't normal.
LIKE COFFEE WHEN WET 😊
sure. *FAKE* "restaurations" ..ha😂😅 seen..so *soMany:* 'old' ax, metaltoy, motorbike, bicycles or what so ever.. *but.* - ALL *are* FAKE.
Not saying anything but something about it didnt look right. Never seen anything like it. If there was something close by that was blowing exhaust towards it, I could understand.
Also, wheres the bird poop , nothing at all on top of the car. And , did anyone see a spider web? Anywhere? Been watching car videos for years and have never seen anything like this. Un subscribed. If they care enough to respond to everyone about this, I will consider re subbing. But the fact that they are only giving likes to positive comments tells me they dont gaf.
it's almost like its oil based dirt
Vocês são simplesmente diferenciados!!!!
Mil like para vocês.
It looks like the dirt was airbrushed on.
Agree. I've watched tons of barn find videos and have never seen one 'dirty' like that.
I was surprised that all the tires rolled..
...over a coat of oil.
@MKMitten65 I thought the same thing.
No doubt about it. Barn finds have dirt that falls DOWN. How did the headlights, even the recessed turn signal lenses have the same type of dirt and same amount as the hood? I love a good barn find vid but I hate it when they bullshit us with this fraudulent barn find bs.
Have to admit, it bothered me why you didn’t clean the car before putting it in the garage. Good job waiting till the end. Well done, as always.
Took the words right out ..hate these guys ..their slobs ..to work on these cars when they can clean 75% of the shit off them buy jus goin to a car wash ..car don't even go in my garage ..dirty ..flux that...it's all the top shop utubers ..mortskis..vice grip..half-ass..pudding .all them turned to slobs ..
Before turning the motor over i would have drained the oil. Pull the plugs and fill the crankcase with diesel and cylinders till its over flowing and let it soak for a month. Then slowly turn it by hand. Would have had a chance of saving the motor.
I like these guys but how they scratched the windows was hard to watch.
Exactly my thoughts, at least blow the crap off..
If I were rich, I would own a 1959 EVERYTHING. What a classic year. I was 7.
I’ve never seen anyone straighten a bent pushrod like that!
That's totally "old school" auto mechanics, from back in the days before chain auto parts store had become a thing.
@user-sn8qd3hf2h I was stuck in Winslow, Arizona in a 1950 doge delivery van. We broke down. Had two bent pushrods. With the help of a Navajo Indian mechanic, we got back on the road doing that ver thing, because in 1972 there were no auto parts shops. So Yes it can, and it has been done.
If they would have rolled it you would’ve seen it wasn’t 100% straight
I used to hammer them flat by hand and rolled on a piece of glass to check how straight it was be surprised a little bit of time and effort will make that thing straight as an arrow.
kings of the mega microphones and the slow pan..and the fake dirt and dust..ive yet to hear one burp or fart ..
Like it when you guys talk
I like it better when y'all are talking about what y'all are doing
Not a fan of no talking. You two always have good clean informative banter.
Where are the cobwebs and spiders? Every old car that I have found is covered in them
Liar
@ContinentalPartywdym liar, did you just post this comment out of pure boredom or something
Conspiracy expert..
yall doing some of that simon ford man thing captions
Exactly!
That's my thought, too Ryan.
7/8 That´s the greatest compression test ever. 900% more than any other car in history...
With 100.00$ budget you are right for sure.
If you also expect to sell it for other 200.000$, even better.
Unless, they gave right to this neglected car and sent her staright to the road, instead of the scrapyard.
If you were buying a car like this to restore, yes, by all means wash it and do all that. But if your in the business of digging these old cars out, getting them started and showing everyone that this is a keeper to be able to it sell off. These guys do it just right. These guys don't pull cars and trucks outta the thickets to rebuild and go to the drive in together to watch Grease on the big screen while they eat greasy french fries. They have an hour of work to show us how this car is a runner. This one....->was amazing!
1959 was the nicest year for a Cadillac i like the rear lights
Those bullet tail lights were much sought after by hot rodders building custom hot rods, they also looked great on the 50's Chevrolet Impalas!!
Cannot deny the presence those cars have!!!
Are there any other car models you liked at that time?
If I had a lot of money, and I mean a lot, my two cars I would have this ‘59 and a ‘66 Olds Toro. I prefer you guys talking so I know what you are thinking and doing. Keep up the good work saving these old classics.
The sedan version of the Ecto1!!! ❤❤❤
Rescued and REVIVED, now you have a good foundation to repair and restore. She deserves a full restoration.
English is #1 ......
Add a sequel with restored upholstery and a new diamond-gloss paint job. This Cadillac is worth it.
There is a man that fully restores cars without affecting the patina. You end up with a totally modern car disguised under an old external body shell.
Regarding the comments about it being prepped they'd hardly have drilled out the trunk lock if they did that . Its a glorious looking car ❤️
1960 my dad, mom and her parents drove from south Chicago suburbs to Acapulco, Mexico and back in a white 59 Caddy with that same sparke interior.
My dad always drove 1 year old Caddys.
Greetings from Russia. Your old cars are amazing! They are works of art!
Nothing like scratching all the glass with razor blades. I have seen plenty of good glass ruined with brand new razor blades and good intentions.
STRAIGHT UP DAVE!.....I have replaced many windshields from road debris on the interstates especially the windblown desert sand bs...I use a ceramic windshield coating that helps but wears off fast.....I baby my windshields and would never ever touch one with a razor blade or even an ice scraper. Never trust an ice scraper!!! Defrost and use a real rubber blade squeegee remove snow loads....I drive fast in no mans land interstates and my windshields can't have anything. scratches, cracks, pitting or anything obscures my vision.
😮
@EJ784-d2inot much ice in the desert,, .
I like it when you guys talk. Father and Son working on cars. I miss it with my Dad, he's been gone 7 years. Once it gone it's gone!😥
RIP Pop's.
Yeah im not a fan of the no talking videos. Just seems strange...
@johnspiva64 Honestly, it's a huge welcomed change from 99% of all other YT videos: shouting, screaming, fighting, singing, babbling, crying, whining, puking, laughing, cussing, belching, farting, non stop talking, and overall incessant NOISE POLLUTION !
@22ergie You must have a really boring life. I mean even my cat laughs when I pinch a finger or fart.
I prefer to listen to you guys talk back and forth. It felt weird watching it. Lol
So don't watch it
Ooh I don't even think I watched 5min of it. And if you were a real fan or actually watch their channel, you would get it. You could always go outside and enjoy the icy weather. 😉@90CarlosCastaneda
Same here , love what they do and tge conversations they have while working.
I watched just in case some one slipped up and accidently spoke😅
Thank you. Watching this come back to life is incredibly satisfying - they just don’t make cars with this kind of beauty, craftsmanship, and soul anymore.
Top mais um de volta parabéns
“Come on, that’s just lazy.”😂😂
We liked it better when they communicated during the videos.
Yes they could read each others mind and didn’t even have to finish their sentences.
@stomper2582what happened?
Beautiful car !!!
Exelente teabajo chicos.
Guys, this isnt Turnin Rust. This is their attempt at getting a cinematic award.
I dont mind like 10 mins of cinematics but a full on hour of auto asmr is just weird.
Bring back the dialog fellas.
I was just thinking, what the heck is that brown, wanting it to look like rust bullstine? I guess we'll see when they power wash it.
I smell BS
Why is there no talking? I don’t remember them ever not talking. Would love to see this one on the road!
AI taking over
The video somehow reminded me of Christine. What a beautiful car it is
Almost cried watching your video. I once owned a 1959 Cadillac sedan (not a DeVille). It was silver. I traded it to buy a Jaguar sedan, but I miss that old Caddy. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.
Very nice. It was so dirty, it almost looked fake.
HAHA! I was just thinking that!
It actually was purposedly made “extra abandoned”
Almost? 😉
Was thinking the same, looked like "movie patina".
Faked. Terrible to try and fool people.
I like it better when y'all are talking about what y'all are doing greet from HOLLAND
All of it looks pretty stage to me
its AI lol
No, it seriously looks like you dumped old oil all over a car covered in dirt and let it sit that is not how cars age it looks like OG car that was just covered in oil. Tell me how that naturally happens unless that was on a oil rig.
Like America in those days....over the top and overconfident!😂
It’s definitely staged. I hate it. I just absolutely hate it when people represent themselves as Christian and then try to pull crap like this off to an entire group of people that know what they’re looking at. It’s just frustrating. I knew they were the reason I stopped watching these guys a while back. Can’t remember what it was but same kind of weird. Something was going on. I remember when they first started the show all of a sudden it was gone, and then they had some kind of an announcement about why they went their separate ways with the young kid that was filming.
Jumping to conclusions are we?!
Because they put alot of time and effort into the dirt placement.
Harika bi çalışma.
Outstanding work. Hard to believe that's the same car as the beginning. Just wow!
love it but I prefer to hear you guys been a big fan of both your channels from the start keep them coming guys and girl👍
I am looking all the way from guyana 🇬🇾 i love all ur video
It looks more like a good placement than a good find
Sure they went all through placement trouble to make a car video. 😂
@jennfaire8726 they did, they get paid well for this. Do some research. If youve ever seen a barn find you would know this is pure staged garbage.
@edgarsox230Yeah just like in Hollywood getting paid. 😂 I mean really who cares, every car show is edited. The car had oil and dust on it. Does it bother you that much. What are you the You Tube police. Don't watch it then. Staged and they made millions 😂😂😂
I prefer a little conversation
Especially when working on the engine
A little maybe but Lance talks too much most of the time.
So you need an adult to explain everything
Agree. Videos where they never talk is so strange to watch.
@billfletcher9118 instant thumbs down for me finding something else to watch.
@billfletcher9118 yes, Bill, I’m an 81-year-old lady who loves to watch the show and listen to them talk to each other and explain what they’re doing. I would walk out of the movie if it didn’t have dialogue. I would not want to be at a get together where people didn’t talk. I like the interaction between father and son. So I skipped to the end To see if they get it running.
wonder ful video
This was cool watching you guys do this. I grew up in a junkyard in the early 1970s through the 80s and I’ve worked on stuff like that and watching you guys getting that stuck valve unstuck . You know the sad part is mechanics of today came not work on that car because they can’t plug the scanner up to it. Because you have to think everything out.
I bought a 1959 Cadillac from a dealership in 1977 and paid $300 for it, it ran great and the body was in excellent shape. It was jet black and real eye candy. A fellow stopped by my house a couple months later and offered me enough money for it that I bought a newer Monte Carlo, I wish I would have hung on to it.
*February 5, 1936 Was The Last Silent Film Was Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times Here We Are 2026 Still Have Silent Video*
*I'll Watch Vice Grip Garage At Least Derek Can TALK*
Can't handle the silent ones, too weird acting and staged too much. Maybe next one?
Had me for a minute.
Yeah, before they went through the trouble of straightening pupush rod I would have washed the car to see how many doors it had ( 2 too many )
Looks like a movie car before the wash, i have the deer hunter on my mind.
You guys are masters, just getting that cadi to run, my grandfather had a 59, most beautiful Cadillac's made. Great work!
About the aging most likely hershey's cocoa powder.....its used all the time to age wardrobe , windiw sills, vehicles etc. You want to add a little baby powder to lighten it up. Dirt was most likely added after the cocoa was laid down. The duster should be used from overhead. You can spritz water or spray Pam vegetable oil to help it stick. But always work from the top down and just dust the top edges. Folks that are used to painting cars will tend to spray flat.
I thought it was cocoa too. I hate fake stuff so I'm going to only watch VICE GRIP GARAGE from now on.
They're in Texas where people get paid for the flying dirt whipping paint off cars. Nothing fake about that!
@shamelessstacib im in rural texas, that ain't real dirt. the real dirt was the light brown under all the fake dark brown crap
Vaseline too😂😂
Complimenti.Ciao
I watch videos for dialogues, they give me the opportunity to be with you, experience joy and be part of the family.... without it, it's just a beautiful empty picture without a soul....🙈
Hate talking, just fix the car
Conversation would be a great addition fellas.
Turn on the subtitles - personally I prefer this format with no talking. Simon Fordman has been doing it this way too over on his channel forever and its wonderful. Nothing more annoying than waffling on about todays sponsor or some tool-kit for half an hour. Just straight into the work and the sounds of wrenches etc... Each to their own I guess. For example, I like junkyard digs too but man do those guys waffle on and on and on and on...
@alex1520 Simon Fordman ist mein Lieblings Kanal
Esta hermoso el coche yo nací en 1958
Unbelievable. Literally.
I was really looking forward to this one when it showed up in my notifications. Had I known it was going to be another one with no talking in it, I would not have came to watch it. Their dialog in their videos is half of what I like about their videos. One more of these silent ones and I am unsubscribing.
Unbeliwvable !
Awesome !
We'd love to hear your voice Lance
He talks too much.
INCREDIBLE YOUR SUPER MASTER INGENIER MECHANIC GOD BLESS YOU
Why didn't you wash it outside first?
All the rust will go away and the car will fall apart
@pmscalisiI guess the end proved that to be wrong.
@walterbrannen5169except for the floorboards which is totally a GM feature 😂
@pmscalisiwell I can understand that with all the crud that they drug out.
Wow excellent very nice work. Very old model engine you start
Thats the best dirt patina ive ever seen
"That's the best fake dirt patina I've ever seen." There, fixed it for you.
@pumkinvine4175 no need to cast aspersions on my comment just make your own.
No stupid talking, no annoying back round music; PERFECT!
The result of hard work and dedication. Excellent.
Seems staged somehow......cool video though
The dirt on the car looks placed there. Lol
Looks set up 🥱
Even it is covered with full of dust this car looks beautiful than modern day's cars❤❤❤❤
I was going to comment on the silent treatment, but it looks like it's been covered! On a classic like that it would of been nice to here all about it!
Hear….
The trick is not to talktalktalk all the time. Some other guys do the same on their channels. The only ones I have the patience to look at. Well done guys, hats of for you.
Need you fellas to talk to each other. I like it when ya,ll are talk,n things out.
My dad had several 59 Caddies. People always thought we were rich! LOL He was an engine builder by trade and restored countless cars through his years. Caddies being his favorite cars.
Good job saving this one. He loved your video.
Christine is back!
Christine? That Car Is '58 Plymouth Fury. The Other '59 Cadillac! NOT THE SAME...NOT EVEN CLOSE... WTF?
Listen to your fans, don’t do the silent or fake stuff.
It's not silent! The noises are all amplified and annoying
Incredible! Congrats
I really like the silence and just hearing the sound of tools and mechanical sounds i watch enough revivals the process is the same way everytime dont need to be educated everytime.
Congratulations on this wonderful restoration video. The Lord has really blessed you guys with the gift of bringing cars back from the dead!! Can't wait for part 2, for a new paint job, interior and finishing!!! Chris is King!!! ✝🙏
Love to see the car when it’s finished 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks guys! I love 1950s cars. Wonderful to see them living again. Cheers!
extremely cool!
i like "im saved' in dirt in the glass.
One hell of a makeover on that always wanted one of these maybe one day. Lol
Next time use English
You made my day!! A beautiful old lady once again comes to life. Thanks for sharing!!!!
